Thanks so much for providing this awesome video, enjoyed it immensely,... My mother is from Lake Como, my Father from Calabria. Both places are magnificent in there own special way. All my relatives from Calabria moved to beautiful Lake Como many many years ago, mainly for higher work opportunities then Calabria, so all my relatives live there, i only have one Cusin living here in Australia, so coming from an Italian family background, as you can imagine, I have plenty. I've been very fortunate to of travelled most of Europe/Italy, but Lake Como is definitely my favourite place to stay in Italy, besides having free accommodation whenever iam able to visit family, the history itself going back to Roman times, together with spot on seasonal weather, friendly locals ready to help out anytime, if your nice to them of course, and breathtaking views along the lake, with amazing Restaurants,, Bars, and Cafes, not to mention the many Boutique clothing shop, with more Restaurants, Cafes and Wine Bars in the Medieval city centre, surrounded by watchtowers, and narrow cobblestones streets, manly made for Roman Chariots only to use back then, Lake Como is one of the Best places to visit if considering travelling to Italy, it takes 10 minutes by car to cross into beautiful Switzerland and about 45 minutes to travel to Milano...basically you can travel from Lake Como by car, train, or bus all over Beautiful Europe, witch in my personal opinion, is my #1 place to travel, anywhere in the world, hands down 👉🏻🇮🇹🕶👍🏻
I hear you. I live in Canada for 66 years. I am from Calabria and married my husband from pordenone Friuli. I have family in Milano, Roma, Calabria, Friuli, and many friends in those places. however; if one doesn't have family there, it's very expensive , and not everyone can afford to pay for food and hotel's.
I live in Brisbane and have visited the Lake Como area several times. It is so beautiful and I would love to live there part of the year. You are very fortunate to have a network of relatives there. 💙
Just visited Bolzano and immediately fell for it. Great combination of cultures, phenomenal quality of living, and the Dolomite’s. Along with Verona and Siena it is one of my favorite smaller cities in Italy.
Just be aware that living in Northern Italy means your Social Security will be taxed as regular income according to the regular Italian graduated income tax. In the south, there are towns (

I liked to see your opinions/suggestions about this places. I just have to say that at the beginning of the video you named all the regions but you did not say Trentino. Very important one. You showed the provincia of Bolzano and spoke about the lake Garda. I care to say that there is many beautiful situations in Trentino Alto Adige (it’s one region with provincia of Trento and Bolzano) all the north part of the lake Garda is amazing too and is part of a Trentino. Any question about that area please lmk. I can guide you about everything there. Ciao
Does anyone have experience with Sardegna (Sardinia in American English)? I was on vacation in Olbia 20 years ago. I want to move to a city near the beach, with a cute nice downtown and everything you need to live (food markets, grocery stores, doctors, hospital, pharmacy, veterinary).
Choosing the best place to live or retire in Northern Italy depends on personal preferences for lifestyle, cultural interests, proximity to amenities, and budget.
thanks! and sure this is right, BUT..."north Italia" is a VERY-big Region, and there's LOTS of no-name Towns that are far-easier to relocate to. that, rather than the "regular" ones on YT :-))) buona fortuna~~~
Il nord Italia non è solo una regione . Le regioni del nord Italia sono : Valle d'Aosta, Piemonte, Lombardia, Liguria, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Trentino Alto Adige, Emilia Romagna.
It is also corrupt, overly bureaucratic, racist, governed by semi-fascists and in large parts its infrastructure is rotten. As a tourist you enjoy the beautiful landscape and cities, the historic architecture, the wonderful weather, design and of of course cuisine, but it's a hell of a difference if you have to live and work there.
@@einundsiebenziger5488I agree with all you’ve said. That’s why the whole country, especially the south has not progressed or infrastructure improved. It’s like living back in time.
Having been to Italy four times, the North is nicer in many ways. Besides, the goal of this vid is not to encourage people to retire in the north instead of the south, but to list interesting cities to retire in.

What about pension?
Same with the pension. Up to 40%! Stia attente! Thank you mvp019….great point!
You mean, living in Italy, in genneral, right?

The university of Bologna is Alma Mater. The first university in the western World ! ❤❤
It's the oldest still in activity, not the first.
@@danielefabbro822 Yes, it is the oldest university still in activity but it's also the first built in the western world.
It's the oldest.. others were just madrasses , Bologna was the closest to the concept of modern university. @@danielefabbro822

What a wonderful world amazing ❤
Anywhere within ~100km of Milano (and often further) is plagued with smoggy atmosphere more than half the time.
On the hills of Central Italy (Tuscany, Lazio, Umbria and Marche) it is even better.
northern Italy is so much nicer than southern italy
Then you haven’t seen Italy
There are so many different regions in Italy, and they’re all beautiful. I love all of it 💚🤍❤️
Northern Italy is nicer than southern italy northern Italians are more educated then the southern italians
I've lived in Northern and Southern. There is beauty in both regions.
Southern Italy has better food, better weather and friendlier people.

It’s extremely crowded these days. Totally different from 20 years ago. Still beautiful though

Is Florence not in northern Italy?
It's considerate Central Italy .
