I love Frank Sinatra and I was a teenager listening to him with my parents as well as to rock ‘n’ roll. My friend said I had an old soul, but I loved him and Dean and all the rest still do.
When it comes to artists, they should be judged on their art. I don’t care about mob ties, I don’t care about womanizing, etc. etc. etc. All I care about is that when I listen to Sinatra, he delivers a song like no other. Impeccable phrasing, breath control, and feel. It would be great if every talented artist was a good person also. But you have to separate the two.

Loved all his singing and music got all his LPs. Great stuff
Sinatra was the greatest plain and simple, his music his persona the likes of which will never be scene again. He changed America and brought respect for the millions of Italian Americans who loved him!
I think he was something more than an amazing singer. He interpreted his songs really well like the old good wine that improves with the pass of time. And made true that a song can ligth the life of a person and fill it with an inefable feeling.
He had a lot to answer for when he died. He grew up as a successful entertainer as a singer. But the certain people he associated with was a decision he worked for in Las Vegas owners he needed to try and navigate carefully he was linked to for most of his life. He was connected to many powerful politicians and well known band leaders. He divorced his children’s mother, married 4 times. And his last wife was Barbara Marx. His three children became musical, one a singer/ bandleader, and his other was very private around her life, if I recall.

A PACK OF CAMELS, a bottle of JACK DANIELS whisky, a ZIPPO lighter and a DOLLARS worth of DIMES! There you have it!
What a shameful past; wanting what only he wanted in order to become an uppity guy. 😢
