Solar System Donation to Steps Group, Caloundra
In a heartwarming initiative, Halcol Energy extends its support to the local community by generously donating $10,000 towards a 38kW solar system for STEPS Group Australia, a dedicated charity in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast.
For 35 years, STEPS Group has been a stalwart organisation, providing invaluable assistance to individuals with disabilities. Recognising the financial challenges faced by charitable organisations, Halcol Energy initiated a competition in the lead-up to Christmas, allowing nominations from the Sunshine Coast community to identify a deserving charity for a free solar system. The competition, driven by the spirit of giving, has seen notable winners such as BloomHill Cancer Care, Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter Rescue, and now, the esteemed STEPS Group.
As a consistent donor for the next five years, Halcol Energy has pledged ongoing support by donating a 6.6-kilowatt solar system annually to be auctioned at the charity ball. This year's contribution to STEPS Group involved a $10,000 reduction on the original system price, tailored to address their fairly large daytime energy needs
The 38kW solar system, featuring top-quality Canadian Solar panels and SolarEdge optimisation for shade challenges, is projected to yield annual energy savings of $12,000.
