    The reason why the 2 Ports are connected is, because it outputs Fill/Key by default. You need this for bigger Videoswitcher, so you can have a very clean graphic overlay, without the need of removing the green background. The Key signal is Black and White, where the Black parts are keyed out and the White parts are the graphic parts. the Fill signal is the graphic with Black background. If you remove the connection of 1+2 and 3+4, you have a Card with 4 Inputs OR 4 Outputs (or 3 INs and 1 OUT ....). The 5th connection is Ref or Blackburst only.

      How do you utilize or use the 1 out, like in the case you want to send one of the camera feeds somewhere else?

    I was in the impression this card can output graphic to monitor by using a sdi to hdmi converter. is that true? can you do a demo of that, God bless.

    At 13:20 you are comparing Atem SDI with this Duo. Am I right you think they are interchangeable? I am planning to have them both and connect two or three cams to Atem (plus mics) and then Atem into Duo for easy switching while streaming the meetings. If you have them both I would like to see them connected and operated. Thanks again

    If you are still using a capture card, which one are you using?

    I want to get one of these for our setup at my church. We’re using PP7 with a MacBook Pro and 2 screens connected by Thunderbolt and it is killing the laptop’s CPU

    Hey buddy, thanks for the video. Want to know if I were to run an 8k capture card, will my graphics card need to be reasonably powerful? Haven't found any or much info online about how or even if the graphics card in the PC affects performance. Cheers!

    • @AJaytheCEO
      @AJaytheCEO  10 місяців тому

      No because this card handles all of this. The GPU will be used mainly by the software paired with this, ie vmix, obs, etc

    I am thinking of using this car to run 3 screen at the stage at my church. Thats about 200ft away. Is this a good option? We are trying to get away from using hdmi.

    I love the black magic products. I wish they would send it with a code to get davinci resolve studio for free. Lol. Great video as always my brother! God bless!

    Thanks for the review Ajay. My previous church got the original DuoLink at about $800 during the height of COVID using OBS. It worked great for our three DSLRs with standalone, PIP and side-by-side scenes. Its fifth port was a "Reference." What is the improvement with the Duo2? Maybe the fifth port as an output now???
    Thanks again for the breakdown!

    • @AJaytheCEO
      @AJaytheCEO  Рік тому

      Yes the 5th is an output or reference

      @@BAdams138 The 5th Port is Ref (or Blackburst) only. The other Ports are INs OR OUTs. You choose which Port is which by connecting for example an Camera or an Monitor.

      @@topratz Thanks; "clear as mud", but sounds like it needs to be really understood before using the fifth port. Right now I am in the information gathering stage; I do not own one, or configured the one at our former church. Thanks for the info! I'll have to see if I can get more info off their site maybe.

      @@BAdams138 The Ref port is for syncing all ports to the "House rythm". If you have 4 Cameras connected then its important, that every picture starts at the same time. You need to sync (connect to the Clock) your Cameras as well. If you don't sync all inputs and cameras to the same clock, than you get ugly "jumps" in the pictures, when you cut between the inputs. Its hard to describe but you can look for "Blackburst" or "Framesync". There you get more infos about this topic. Blackmagic has an Framesync as well as a standalone box, But for normal use in a none critical setup (like a TV Station) you don't need the Ref Port. The card can do the Frame-Sync internaly but it costs 1-2 Frames.

    BMD are trash!! When capturing analog (SD interlaced), they always have digital noise in picture.

    • @AJaytheCEO
      @AJaytheCEO  4 місяці тому

      Did you turn off upscaling which would include interpolation to scale the image to a higher resolution?

    • @shdvf767
      @shdvf767 4 місяці тому

      @@AJaytheCEOI don't use upscaler. I always like to capture my VHS or U-matic to lossless v210 in SD resolution (NTSC). Same happened to a friend and now we're both getting AJA Kona cards.
