The show, notable for being the first prime-time television series to air on Fox, ran from April 5, 1987, to June 9, 1997. It was created by Michael G. Moye and Ron Leavitt. It's kind of funny how their real lives played out like their on-screen characters. Cynthia got married and had three kids while Brittany became a bride years later after a few entertaining relationships.

I swear Cynthia and Brittany were born to play the Wakefield twins. Just a fun fact if anyone is familiar with the books Todd’s father had to move the family to Vermont because his job depended on it. And the actor that played Manny I know I saw him in a Brandy music video.

@@franzchong5889 yes. Interestingly enough Francine Pascal who created the book series initially conceived of a TV show teen soap opera but couldn't get the green light so she created the book series. This was always intended to feel like a soap opera.
