Ubisoft seems to have this uncanny ability to listen to their fanbase WITHOUT actually listening to their fanbase. “we’ll make an AC: samurai game but we’re going to do it in the most asinine way imaginable” They did it with Skull & Bones (which SHOULD have just been Black Flag without the Assassin’s Creed) and now they’re doing it with AC: Shadows. Meanwhile, Yakuza/Like a Dragon is giving us what Skull & Bones SHOULD have been from the get-go. Honestly, I think Skull & Bones pisses me off more as they LITERALLY have the blue prints from Black Flag but nOoOo, they just HAD to pursue the live service zeitgeist which was already on its way out….jfc…can Ubisoft just file Chapter 11 already?

I argued with a guy in a comment thread who said Yasuke not being able to parkour and stealth is fine because his strength in combat makes him easy mode for people who don't like stealth. I'm like... why are you buying Assassin's Creed if you don't like stealth?
To be fair...us black gamers were absolutely NOT asking for this shit. In fact, most of us cant stand when shit like this is forced on consumers, especially in games and movies.
Please don't include me in ur us black gamer because I have historical books predating this the 1900s on Yasuke well he was an actual samurai they just want this history to be hidden because history is written by the victors
Nope. I feel like dudes of all races have been uniting after years of the media trying to turn us against each other. But black women that don’t play video games are probably asking for this.
Btw, Yasuke can't even climb the towers to reveal the maps. You have to switch to Naoe every single time. Which includes a loading screen. Naoe is the only one who can even do the stealth and parkour effectively in this game. They give you a choice in which character to play but Naoe is the only one that can do the basic things that are in every single Assassin's Creed game
They really should have just combined the two characters as one. Having to go through multiple loading screens just to switch up the gameplay between characters is horribly flawed. It's just such a dumb design choice. If I were to play the game, I would play as Naoe 99% of the time.
When AC Shadows comes out, I'm gonna go back and replay Ghost of Tsushima. You know, a game about samurais in feudal Japan where you play as a Japanese samurai in feudal Japan. What a crazy concept.
The worst part is that Ubisoft will never apologize or acknowledge the specific points the community has raised about this as they go to their graves. I'm so sad that they just destroyed a franchise that I could escape into mentally before and do it all solo but now they had to make it political AND cut corners.

There’s a gameplay setting that makes you one hit opponent with stealth tho, idk with origins but at least from odyssey and valhalla I always use that setting. It just makes sense to me to one shot enemy from behind and you still can do a normal combat from the front or with many enemies too.
Not only is Yasuke not a samurai, but Ubisoft confirmed that he isn't even an Assassin. Which likely means he's a defected Templar, which they've already done. And if he isn't a part of the Templars, he's completely irrelevant to the story. This is game is cooked garbage truck juice.
For anyone who paid attention to the lore they've been butchering the main story of the assassins versus templars for years, most of the modern releases can be charitably described as spin offs that they made within a specific setting, it was less about any kind of story and more about immersion in a specific period of history. With this most recent game Ubisoft have gone full mask off with revealing they don't care about the main plot at all and when you understand many of them haven't developed a game before and probably don't play video games either it makes perfect sense they'd do this.

Y’know what’s sad about AsCreed Shadows? The fact that an AsCreed game set in Japan (be it feudal or modern-day) was a guaranteed instant money maker. Ubisoft was practically handed a formula for an successful Japan-set AsCreed game on a silver/gold platter, and they threw it away out of spite.
It is precisely BECAUSE this setting was a license to print money that they thought they could get away with all the bullshit they pulled. Turns out, you can't just serve consumers shit on a platter and expect them to be thankful for it any more.
What you said about quests by committee vs writer. Strongly get this impression with some of the newer Fallout games in parts. Really makes you wonder.
Higher level enemies that arent bosses resisting assassination really started in origins and it is the worse shit ever for an assassins game, you cannot even complete missions in full stealth anymore because some dude will just not die, shrug it off and start combat with you.
Sad result of trying to force an ASSASSIN game into being a generic Ubisoft slopfest action game. It's just incredibly lazy. They could have improved NPC AI, given them more interesting behaviors, made the locations more fun to navigate, etc instead. But proper assassination games - or stealth games in general - sadly peaked literally 15+ years ago. Heck, the original Thief has better stealth mechanics and exploration in a lot of ways than modern Assassin's Creed, and that game came out in 1998 - 27 years ago or so.
I went into Ass Odyssey naïvely, and the moment I realized that - the game was dead for me, I thought, "WTF, this is not Assassin's Creed anymore?! Why are people even buying this shit?" But I've been wondering the same about CoD for over 10 years now...
You had "failed assassination" back in Black Flag - but that was dependent on Edward making too much noise or causing a ruckus in a 10m radius from the target, not because "player level was too low"
Connor was bigger than any other Assassin that proceeded him and came after up until Valhalla and Shadows and he was STILL moving like a stealth assassin. He didnt move with the same kind of animations Altair or Ezio did, he moved like a predator and the equated how they designed his movement to be like a Leopard going from tree to tree
Bro was a native American who grew up stalking animals with the goal of revenge on his mind, that honestly made sense. They could have taken that same direction THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH shadows, but nahh
Exactly. Connor had really unique animations that went with his personality. I think mostly because AC 3 was in a new and upgraded engine so they were really testing the waters on how much and how far they can add in the game. I always loved Connors walk as well when he shift his head and shoulders like he is wandering or actively looking for someone. Some people don't like it but I think it adds more than just looking ahead straight. Plus his sprinting animation as you mentioned, you can notice that he has how upper body and head down during the beginning of the sprint to show that he is really running either away or to someone. Then slowly he rises as the sprint animation continues but I think it cycles back. Plus his running isnt exactly in a straight line either. If you run in a straight line, you can notice Connor is sort of sliding a bit to the left and right during his sprinting animation. Compared to other AC characters, I think Connor has the most little details coded into his character but again as mentioned, AC 3 was their first game in a new/upgraded game engine after AC Revelations.
@@rw0dyxer012 Isn't just his run, how he clambers up structures and foliage, how he pakours around, he moves with this aggressive grace that is absent all other Assassins. They all have grace but where Ezio, Altair, and those who follow did so with the grace of a bird of prey, Connor moved around like a cat. He made up for his lack of on the wing agility with raw strength and ability turn on a dime with that strength. Dude was absolutely brutal and a unit in his movement and fighting style.
@@truec0re193 Most definitely. They could have filled in the gaps about Yasuke that we do not know and say he stalked animals on the Savannah therefore, despite his large size, dude was agile and quicker than most, and that he may have worn armor, but he would get custom gear to be somewhat lightly to account for his agility.
Here's the hardest pill to swallow. They didn't care about the setting until their company was crashing. Suddenly when their profits are going down, now is the time to look at fan favorite ideas. You know what else? Yasuke in the past decade or so has been growing in popularity as a historical figure, so let's throw him in there too to capitalize on that. We'll make tons of money off of it. The game isn't made for gamers. The game is made for the company, gambling on it being their life raft. They don't care about Japan, that much has been made abundantly clear. They don't care about minority representation either, only using them as a tool to prop themselves up.
8:40 Lets be honest, they didn't add the grappling hook because it was a cool new way to traverse, they did it 'cause they couldn't find a way to climb up a building with that type of roof. They only added the swinging on trees as an after thought to help sell the story of why the hook was added.
I stopped counting at this point. So many of my favorite franchises ruined exactly because of this bs. Not only games, but shows and movies too. How many more billions of dollars and years do we need to waste on this?
11:20 Yes, you nailed it. Same with how they changed the viewpoints-now, instead of automatically filling the map with markers, you have to look and mark them yourself. They even advertised this as a solution to the Ubisoft map clutter everyone’s tired of… but how does that fix anything? If anything, it’s exactly the same and just wastes even more of the player’s time
I remember playing AC1 as a young boy, getting ambushed by a templar by the side of a road between cities. I executed a perfect counter with the weapon I had equipped, which was the hidden blade, and Altair just oneshots the knight with a stab to the temple through his helmet. This was after getting my ass beat by templars alot lol, I was ecstatic. Now AC combat looks like 7:38 and everything that made the original games fun for me is lost. Health sponges for bosses and levels for enemies ONLY serve to gatekeep parts of the game, to force you to play more or pay to get an XP boost, in a single player game. Down right criminal what Ubisoft has done to this once beloved franchise.
they became more rpgs with levels starting with origins iirc. playing ac1 with only the hidden blade was a blast as you couldn't block only evade&counter

Devil's advocate here... Ubisoft has never said that the black guy was an Assassin, merely that he was a black samurai in feudal Japan. Maybe the reason that he can't do "Assassin" things well is because he invested all his skill points into being a samurai who can sidestep bullets that are in midair😅 (The last enemy, standing at the top of the stairs in the fight at the end of the video shoots his gun at protag, who steps to the left and out of the bullet's path after it is fired... so it makes sense that male Protag can't do parkour, right?)

Dishonored has the best gameplay when it comes to stealth system. You can complete the entire game without a single guard seeing you, or even killing a single person. If a guard sees you they will not only attack you, but they will also call for backups and sound the alarm to get more guards to fight you. The first Dishonored game was released in 2012. Ubisoft is evolving at least 13 years backwards.
Dues Ex was the same way, I remember grinding in my teens on Xbox 360 trying to unlock the achievement for using stealth mode through 100% of the game without alerting any guards or security systems
We had clunky but IMPACTFUL combat as far back as Assassins Creed 1. Perfectly timing a parry was an instant kill with the hidden blade, the sword especially the scimitar later in the game dished out massive damage and felt impactful, parries one shot most enemies and 3 sword swings killed them if they didn't catch the strikes with blocks and deflects none of this stun immunity and big chungus eating 30 blade swing nonsense. More-over, what is the point of performing an "assassination" if the target is just going to lose a small portion of their health bar and initiate clunky unintuitive combat ? How is that supposed to align with the philosophy of being an Assassin ? Where is the satisfying pay-off to the cloak and dagger playstyle ? Imagine if you played Metal Gear PP and after sneaking behind enemy lines tactically the HVT only lost 20% HP to a melee combo from BB, was Headshot immune and was a bullet sponge... What happened to blending into a crowd, a dagger in the dark findings its target and disappearing by the time the bloody body collapsed ? What happened to scaling rooftops, eluding droves of guards and lookouts as you traverse into enemy territory and systematically eliminate key targets ? What happened to running your own league of assassins that you could call to drop from the sky, join you in combat or barrage your foes with extreme prejudice ? What happened to holding our target in our arms and hearing their last words as they depart this world, adorning a feather with their blood as proof the target has been slain ? There is a clear identity to Assassin's Creed and I don't believe the development team on the project are in touch with that identity, as a avid fan of the first few AC releases the latest entries don't make feel like the target audience in the slightest. How about instead of locking us into playing as 1 of this duo we can alternate between the 2 as part of hybrid style combat, we go in and take out the HVT with Naoe then switch out to Yasuke to handle the guards (instead of awkwardly ducking behind a wall and all the guards having amnesia) or the inverse, Yasuke drawing out all of the guards focus to a part of a garrison, switching to Naoe and running down the HVT while his detachment of guards are focused on the threat that is literally knocking at their door. Hell if you add in a faction or henchman system this suggestion plays out even better as you could have a half a dozen people or more assaulting the gates instead of just a 1 man Samurai army. Closing out, how about instead of this inventory system determining my impact on gameplay our skill expression was more realized, timing swings between parry windows to inflict maximum damage as Yasuke, relishing in being a massive bulldozer of power eliminating foes in 2 or 3 incredibly powerful swings, playing out being that Dark Souls or Elden Ring boss that moves and attacks a bit slower but hits like a fucking truck. Having Naoe the polar opposite, enjoying a very nimble playstyle with a guaranteed assassination instant kill but significantly more fragile in traditional combat heavy scenarios, the same blows that Yasuke shrugs off with raw strength and armor giving her pause and inflicting serious damage if not killing her outright. The blueprint is there, you know it, I know it, everybody knows it. Give the IP to the fans or listen to them collectively and you will have a best seller GOTY candidate.

It changed everything about the game; the introduction of levels, level based gear, enemy types, etc. and it’s all because their in-house research tells them that level based games get people to grind and grind gets people to pay because they are vested in the game. The shittification of the gaming industry, with stealth mechanics thrown to the wayside in an IP that used to be the most well known stealth simulator.
@dovos8572 Meanwhile a hard-core stealth game like Intravenous where guys will sound alarm and patrols will go perma high alert and he'll recruit everyone he come across to look for you if anybody in their path is no longer in their path (because you eliminated them). So the game can start where you kill someone and for the next 20min you're stuck at the same spot until all the enemies on the entire map eventually search to your location and you kill them all then proceed to objective on an empty map.
@@JakoMacro Absolutely, i hate those RPG/grind mechanics. I remember games like Battlefield 1942, Vietcong or Call of Duty from my childhood, they had no RPG crap, you had everything available in multiplayer from the start and it was great. Now its all just grind and nothing can keep you hooked, because the gameplay is most of the time crap, you grind and think "if i unlock that it will get better" but it doesn't. I still can't believe that Marvel Rivals lets you pick from all characters from the start, usually it would be a 2 month grind to unlock them all and then level them up while feeling the whole time underpowered. I guess we need to stop giving them money, to revert the corruption of game industry you have to make it collapse, kill franchises and studios and start from scratch.
I think I've heard of a UA-camr revealing that Ubisoft's early reviews for promotional contents requires you to say "It's a work in progress" anytime you see a bug in gameplay or give criticism.
@@trorisk This company has a history of releasing with major bugs, just look at Star Wars Outlaws. The time they gave themselves with these delays isn’t enough time to realistically fix ALL major bugs that they think is acceptable as well as fix most major criticisms. When you change things to fix the major criticisms, you usually create new bugs or undo old bug fixes. They didn’t realistically give themselves enough time to make this into a GOOD final product given what they already had.
I don’t know if I am the only person who sees a lot of fake assasyn fan pages on Facebook promoting shadows so badly I guess Ubisoft going to hard with promoting this stuff and it’s still a disaster
I say this as a former hard-core fan. For me ass creed was always about the story of aliens guiding our civilization through clandestine acts over human history. Ac 1 and 2 especially were great at this. The combat and the climbing were fun too. But as soon as they messed the story up, there was no need to care. Every game just became, kill people in this time period and collect random shite. There was this great cliff hanger of releasing a god like alien into the modern world at the end of ass creed 3 that still after 13 years has not been addressed. This entry is aptly named as assassin's creed is a dead franchise held together by people's love of historical settings, and it is now a shadow of what it once was.
I regret to inform you that they actually did resolve that cliffhanger ending you’re mentioning with Juno tricking Desmond. Ya they wrapped up that arc in a comic book spin off with Desmond’s son apparently. Ya…
Sekiro: Deathblows remove an entire Healthbar, regardless of how much HP is left. Basic enemies have one Healthbar. This game: Deathblows barely tickle even basic enemies
It's logically absurd since it obviously heavy and noisy, but kinda interesting in my opinion if they adjust the design to makes the armor more light..

Hah what a way to put it. Only Good thing about watching some of our favorite games turn to some trash is it’s gonna only wake them up to quit this dei shit and hire good writers again (Cory may, drew Karpishian-idk if I spelled his name right) some of these old games loved storytelling and atmosphere and it’s lost to memory now
they could actually made it good with yasuke(not playable, ofc, he doesnt even has a big role, just a mascot that happend to "defend" oda) as well but instead they wanted to write their own fantasy bullshit while taking a REAL HISTORICAL PERSON, they are all braindead writers at ubisoft
@splitter911 brother he wasn't center stage, it also takes away from the premise of the titles, in odyssey who were you playing as? In valhalla who were you playing as? In origins who were you playing as? I was a huge fan of assassin's creed even though i wasnt a big fan of the way the game was changing, but I'm not gonna settle for mediocre here, if you want to thats on you
@@splitter911nioh 1&2 didn’t try to rewrite Japanese history 😂 if you wanted an African themed main character should have based it on a location that makes sense… being the only 6ft black person in the entire country is idiotic and eliminates any immersion… It wasn’t a problem in origins or odyssey since the characters made sense in respect to their regions but here is blatant pandering
@@splitter911 as a big fan of Nioh and has poured hours replaying both 1 and 2, I loved that Yasuke was there, but he was not a center role. He was a side character. You need to try to understand as to why the Japanese was okay with Yasuke in Nioh vs as to why they're angry at Yasuke in AC.
one of the reason the wukong armor upgrade feel better is that we start playing as an unknown monkey then getting stronger until become monkey king. the sense of getting better and stronger equipment works perfectly fine for the narrative and gameplay
That’s just ooga booga action players who can’t understand combat is secondary in a stealth game. Or purist AC fans in denial that AC stopped being a stealth game long ago. But yeah, I got a feeling Asmon wouldn’t like early Assassin’s Creed. Pretty sure you weren’t supposed to fight 1v5 in the open in AC2, for example. DEFINITELY NOT in AC1.
Been like that since Origin when they overhauled AC systems in more of an "RPG". Personally I did enjoy Odyssey (tho never finished it) but that just because I love Ancient Greece.
That's the problem though, the grappling hook takes all effort out of climbing. You no longer have to plan your route or think. It's just a lazy up or down button, personally I don't find it fun, or satisfying. Ubisoft has built the levels different since Unity, that's why the climbing is so janky on all the new ones, you don't feel "connected" to the obstacle.
@@ModernDayMinutemenhook blade was a genuinely great addition though because it allowed for a bunch of new moves and tricks that weren't possible for ezio before.
Always so funny how Ubisoft manages to take an animation for an attack, make it slower and less impactful for realism, functionally making it less realistic and less fun, then they add some really flashy attack that shows you that they just have bad animation talent
This always angers me when it comes to games with realism. like bruh, brawls less than a minute, why are you slowing down to make stuff realistic? and if you ARE making it realistic, get rid of the hp bar. add crits, if I crit I win if they crit they win. hellish quart style.
Honestly the best thing Ubisoft could do with Ass Creed at this point is to not make another one for at least 5 years. Give the franchise a break people are tired of it.
Actually Ubisoft games sell decently well to casuals and not us hardcore gamers. Look at Valhalla and odyssey sales. Not like Elden ring but enough to justify more
The fact that they added a grappling hook to a franchise that always required the player to utilize their brains a bit when trying to climb a tall structure is completely unneeded and kills that part of the game that we all used to be immersed in. Ezio got away with it in revelations because it was a hook for a separate traversal mechanism, and construction lifts were separate and counted as additional ways of scaling a building. What the hell is Shadows doing? Do they even know what parkour looks like?
Unity was Assassin's Creed's gameplay peak tho. It had a horrible and super buggy launch that ruined it's public perception, but it was revolutionary graphic and gameplay wise and should have been the foundation for the franchise moving on.
i was expecting a full game in a modern setting with desmond after he learned from his ancestors, all the greater plot elements teased in every game was cool af i have no idea why they basically trashed everything they built up
I dont know why they did the decision with the two protagonists. Syndicate was the worst selling AC ever and they thought "okay lets do it again" ?????
The higher ups at Ubisoft are so out of touch with their customers that one needs new ways to describe their disconnection. They had the chance to make a game with one of the most successful IP's in the entire world and they had the chance to make a game focusing on japan where other companies have succeeded in recent years. People love ninjas, samurai and non disney Star Wars. They had all the right cards in their hand to win the game but somehow they used Lightning Bolt on themselves.
Because the diversity demands the player character is female. But they think a female character might not sell as much so the only solution they can come up with is two protagonists.
It's ironic how they spent a ton of money on sensitivity writers and cultural experts who were more occupied with their own political opinions than doing their jobs.
she simply dosn't have the build to bust down a door? it's not rocket science to figure out mate, her build is much more Lithe and agile compared to Yasuke
They're definitely going to make young, impressionable minds think that Yasuke was a f*cking samurai. I can't get over what they've done, I didn't think they could mess up more than Valhalla.
The message and grooming methods come first before the gameplay heck I think this is what's turn to triple A games nowadays a walking Political campaign and brainwashing
The problem is Valhalla sold very very well..... Idk if you are an og AC fan but yeah I have played every single one of them and Valhalla was the one I couldn't finish it is so fucking Boring and pointless.... And people liked it, because for them it's a Vikings game, but I don't want a Vikings game I want an ASSASSINS GAME but they can't do it anymore, they simply can't, the formula is lost in time and they don't have the talent or the people needed
Valhalla Is one of the best games out there for open combat. It may not have had the assassin part fully like other AC titles but, it was a very good game on its own. That's why i have over 400hrs played and got all the dlcs for it, the game was that good. Mirage and odyssey don't come close, so dont be shitting on my Valhalla.
It's a work of fiction like ALL Assassins Creed games are. They need to teach you guys media literacy. If you want you can give all the kids a history lesson on yasuke. But for the sake of Assassin's Creed Shadows, they used his limited history to turn him into a badass samurai and all the weirdos are mad. Meanwhile Naoe is sitting there a protagonist as well. Who cares if history is smudged for an action adventure title? You act like they're going to play AC Shadows in AP History class lmao
It's crazy to think that Ubisoft could still fix things and get a decent amount of sales by just swapping in a Japanese model for the main character. People will just buy it to show support for the successful pushback. They don't even have to change the script or voices. Streamers would laugh their asses off playing through the resulting no context plot and people in general would be more forgiving to the game's other flaws.

IF I say Ancient Japan and the first picture you see is yasuke or back people. It is either intentional or intentional.
Or he could be a not so secretly templar and is the final boss in the end which is to say whatever that I agree this game is cooked.

Connor was bigger than any other Assassin that proceeded him and came after up until Valhalla and Shadows and he was STILL moving like a stealth assassin.

The grappling hook was introduced in AC Syndicate and swinging through trees was introduced in AC 3. They just added it into this game for fluff.
The grappling hook was already in the Ubi asset bin from Far Cry and Syndicate. They did nothing new or unique here.

11:20 Yes, you nailed it. Same with how they changed the viewpoints-now, instead of automatically filling the map with markers, you have to look and mark them yourself. They even advertised this as a solution to the Ubisoft map clutter everyone’s tired of… but how does that fix anything? If anything, it’s exactly the same and just wastes even more of the player’s time
Yup, just waste players time to push them into the game store to buy a "time saver" 😁

Devil's advocate here... Ubisoft has never said that the black guy was an Assassin, merely that he was a black samurai in feudal Japan.
Maybe the reason that he can't do "Assassin" things well is because he invested all his skill points into being a samurai who can sidestep bullets that are in midair😅

Open combat and rpg mechanicsake it easier to include micro transactions, simply put. Why did Origins include hunting and crafting? References farcry and they could also sell "time savers" to skip it.

AC is just overglorified bloated "rpg" at this point. Can't even come close to dishonored.
And even if you don't want to play stealthily, the actual combat system for high chaos is still very good. There's no excuse for AC.

I regret to inform you that they actually did resolve that cliffhanger ending you’re mentioning with Juno tricking Desmond. Ya they wrapped up that arc in a comic book spin off with Desmond’s son apparently. Ya…
@@UBtagSoGoodI’d agree apart from Black Flag that game was 9/10 for me (would be 10/10 if it had half them amount of tailing missions)
The whole story was basically preventing 2012. After AC3 and Desmond's death, the story lost all meaning.
@Orbis618 wow even worse..
Sekiro: Deathblows remove an entire Healthbar, regardless of how much HP is left. Basic enemies have one Healthbar.
This game: Deathblows barely tickle even basic enemies
This tactics is used when they want to hide the lack of content. Use more hp so they spend more time
1. Make parkour segments
2. Introduce some "QoL" that skips it to hide the lack of level design
imagine wearing samurai outfit and doing parkour at the same time 🤣
imagine worrying about that
It's logically absurd since it obviously heavy and noisy, but kinda interesting in my opinion if they adjust the design to makes the armor more light..
It's like pulling John Wick moves in a suit of Fallout Power Armor
Good thing he doesn't do any parkour.
this was the first thing i noticed.
12:12 In my career I've always followed the quote “Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Has always served me well.
3:00 story??? i think we're expecting too much from people whos whole lives are on twitter and are summed up in 280 characters or less. what kind of narrative can we honestly expect from these kinds of people?
Hah what a way to put it. Only Good thing about watching some of our favorite games turn to some trash is it’s gonna only wake them up to quit this dei shit and hire good writers again (Cory may, drew Karpishian-idk if I spelled his name right) some of these old games loved storytelling and atmosphere and it’s lost to memory now
5:36 The "Yasuke can only climb trees" comment got me 🤣
Yasuke feels so unbelievably out of place in this game
they could actually made it good with yasuke(not playable, ofc, he doesnt even has a big role, just a mascot that happend to "defend" oda) as well but instead they wanted to write their own fantasy bullshit while taking a REAL HISTORICAL PERSON, they are all braindead writers at ubisoft
What about nioh 1&2? He was a black samurai in that and no one battered an eye? The hate for this game is pathetic
The reviewer isn’t being honest. He’s not talking about how The Black Guy cannot get to the top of the roofs-which you need to get to for map markers.
YongYea is not an honest person.
Why are we still pretending its gonna be good?
Yasuke stop stealing the bicycles.
Ninja stole my bike
Why are you pretending your human when your Not.
@@gowankommando Can't wait for AC Romania where we get to play as Blackula.
Just racism
@@fanis1414 that's hate
>"Minor complaint"
>Assassination is secondary
>Assassin's Creed
That’s just ooga booga action players who can’t understand combat is secondary in a stealth game.
Or purist AC fans in denial that AC stopped being a stealth game long ago.
But yeah, I got a feeling Asmon wouldn’t like early Assassin’s Creed. Pretty sure you weren’t supposed to fight 1v5 in the open in AC2, for example. DEFINITELY NOT in AC1.
@@matilozano96 It has neither good combat nor stealth. The game doesn't know what it is anymore.
Been like that since Origin when they overhauled AC systems in more of an "RPG". Personally I did enjoy Odyssey (tho never finished it) but that just because I love Ancient Greece.
AC games ended when they've killed off Desmond
Reviewers praising the grappling hook but i swear they complained when syndicate introduced it. London batman was funny
Let's not forget Ezio's Hookblade in Revelations
Give the franchise a break people are tired of it.
valhalla is actually from 2020 kek
Speaking for yourself.
Idk if I’m in the minority or not but I think RPG engine that they adapted since Orgins is trash and Orgins was the last good assassins creed
@@Palhum But Mirage is from October 2023.
This series ended for me with Assassins Creed 3 with Desmond the main character dying.
Black flag was amazing though
Yeah imagine skipping black flag. Yikes
Unity was Assassin's Creed's gameplay peak tho. It had a horrible and super buggy launch that ruined it's public perception, but it was revolutionary graphic and gameplay wise and should have been the foundation for the franchise moving on.
It ended with 3 for me because 3 was such boring, repetitive dogshit that I dropped open world games entirely.
i was expecting a full game in a modern setting with desmond after he learned from his ancestors, all the greater plot elements teased in every game was cool af
i have no idea why they basically trashed everything they built up
I dont know why they did the decision with the two protagonists.
@@PadaV4 I mean, an AC with ONLY a female protagonist won't really sell well (unless Ubisoft makes a really impressive AC, so it won't happen).
They needed black and they needed female. They couldn't think how to explain inserting girlboss, so they opted for second option.
Tje fry twins were insufferable..that entire story was hog wash....
Taking away instant assassinations was the beginning of the end for AC games
Agree just make people aware if u assassination is too close. Naoe is not a fighter and can't instant assassination is dumb.
It's ironic how they spent a ton of money on sensitivity writers and cultural experts who were more occupied with their own political opinions than doing their jobs.
8:10 The biggest compliment to Ubisoft is Asmon assuming an item at McDonald’s will still cost less than their company
Happy Meal toys are more playable than that. Take that insult to the grave, Ubisoft.
I don't understand why Yasuke can bust doors open with pure force and the second character can't. Is this an example of social role stereotype?
yasuke is a big guy, naoe isn't, seems normal for me
@@ceePx But she's a strong and empowered woman! How come she can't do that?!
she simply dosn't have the build to bust down a door? it's not rocket science to figure out mate, her build is much more Lithe and agile compared to Yasuke
@@TheMadHatter845 Progressive Twitter people would disagree, they would say she has to be as good and as strong as Yasuke in everything.
they should make Yasuke fast and nimble like Bob from Tekken
They're definitely going to make young, impressionable minds think that Yasuke was a f*cking samurai. I can't get over what they've done, I didn't think they could mess up more than Valhalla.
The message and grooming methods come first before the gameplay heck I think this is what's turn to triple A games nowadays a walking Political campaign and brainwashing
Yeah. Japanese games already portrayed Yasuke correctly or weren't trying to be realistic.
