Larry Grayson was so funny, listening to him, was like a gossip with the neighbours! Unlike most comedians/entertainers today, Larry's humour was without malice. I have never heard anyone say anything bad about him, he seemed very genuine and down to earth. He visited the grave site of Arthur Lucan (Old Mother Riley), Larry got upset and had tears in his eyes, he was upset to think that Arthur, who had given so much happiness and pleasure, to so many, was now largely forgotten.
Frankie Howerd had bad things to say about Larry, like he stole my act, with some other words in between. IMHO they weren't the same. Loved them both. Larry especially

I totally agree that we should have a statue in the town. He did loads for local charities for free. Even charging for signed photos and giving all the money to the charity, all at his own cost. How dare the BBC decide to destroy such a beautiful building, it should have been kept, maintained and used on a daily basis. The good old days, I always liked Larry Grayson especially the way he looked down his glasses as he spoke.

especially the way he looked down his glasses as he spoke.
