Draconian is the best doom I've ever come across. When I discovered these guys I actually wanted to feel sad(der than usual) just feel the music more. And Heike as the new vocalist is was just a golden cherry on top. All that being said I don't feel this is a good introduction song for them. :P Would've gone with Dishearten or Stellar Tombs. Such bullshit on them blocking that Borknagar vid though, I was waiting for it too. :(

*EPIC* reaction. Good example where velvet voice fits a doomy, dark atmosphere in the best way. Along with *good* deep growls, it's doing the job perfectly. I love it! Drums: PERFECT. Doom at it's best. Riffs: 2:13... Yeah, nuf said. Awesome! Changes of pace are a great way to give some hype to the song as well, so appreciate the doomy parts giving place to some "melodeth-like" parts. Plus, Heike Langhans... Yeah, err. *ahem!!*, I ah... :| I... You see... (ahemashemashemashem!), she's a crush, as of now... If you liked this, you may like some more doom metal. There is a sub genre, called funeral doom. It's not for everyone (I don't enjoy it for the most part), because it's very, very depressing and much more devastating. BUT, one of my favorite bands belongs to it, Ahab. "The Sermon" or "Old Thunder" are decent options.
- End of Aeon - Endless Agony (similar to Draconian). - Oceans of Slumber - The Banished Heart. Very, very few songs come along that are this stunning. Simply a masterpiece of emotion. Exceptional vocalist. The video is the perfect accompaniment. - Also try Draconian's Rivers Between Us. I think it's their most emotional and best song. A real chill producer. Keep up the great work.

The last 2 Draconian albums Sovran and A Rose For The Apocalypse are really great albums. You said you liked the contrast in vocals then may I suggest Theatre of Tragedy one of the first bands to have harsh vocals (Raymond) with beautiful clean vocals (the incomparable Liv Kristine)
Every band rips off another when you think of it. Why limit yourself? Anyway they are both doom bands so they sound similar. I really like both. Both have great songs.
