lol no, read back in this story arc alone. He WAS flying. Superman is simply not as fast, regardless of his method of travel.
Valentin S. Superman is slower only because of the gravity on Earth the speed force allows speedsters to ignore the laws of physics but in space where there is no gravity therefore no friction Superman can travel much faster and is very close to the flash if not the same speed

I think it's more that Wally will never be ahead of Barry, because he admires him, and wants to be like him. And because of that Wally will always *follow* Barry's example, even if he will be doing his own thing.

Speed doesn't matter. The speedforce is required. If you read Dark Night's Metal, Red Death (Bruce Wayne and Barry Allen fused together) was created when Batman strapped Flash to the batmobile and DROVE him into the speedforce, in an attempt to go back in time. That is, even the bat mobile can go fast enough to go back in time if it has access to the speedforce.

You had that magic of telling a story that can't be recaptured.
Everyone acts like Wally being faster is the be-all end-all measurement of a speedsters power, but Barry and Wally have excelled in different parts of the speedforce from day 1. Let me explain:
Barry is the absolute KING of anything involving the more scientific, logical side of the SF; mainly anything involving vibrations, moldcular control, and space/time travel (though his speedmind and future predicting abilities are also pretty powerful) For example Barry was once blown up so badly by a villain that he was reduced to nothing more than atoms, he saved himself by having each of his molecules time travel a few hours into the future and reform, AFTER HE WAS BLOWN UP!! Barry also once vibrated at just the right frequency to turn himself into anti-matter on a whim, and could fly faster than the speed of light just by pushing molecules out underneath him. Recently during the year one storyline Barry decided to time travel a few seconds into the future and took ALL OF SPACE AND TIME WITH HIM (I shouldn’t even have to explain how OP this power is) but was able to selectively leave out the turtle who he was fighting at the time. Oh yeah and there’s also the time he literally punched reverse flash back to the future.
Wally, on the other hand, cuts loose and just ENJOYS the speedforce, while Barry is busy trying to hit just the right frequencies Wally just goes on fun runs. This is why Wally is better at the more spiritual and straightforward parts of the speedforce, A.K.A his being faster. This is also why, other than Barry (who generates the SF as he runs) Wally is the only other speedster who cannot be cut off from the speedforce, his connection with it is just too great. One last example I’ll use for Wally is his speed stealing powers, you’ll notice that when Wally does this he doesn’t have to calculate any vibrations or anything to do it, it’s just intuition; something he just decides to do, because that’s how Wally operates.
You are right dude. I feel like during the start of silver age flash(Barry Allen) till the end Barry Allen was the best flash ever, faster, stronger and powerful. He could literally pass the speed of light without even thinking about it. He once travelled ten times the speed of light and could hear people's thoughts. But since crisis on infinite earths when Wally became the flash it has always being about him. They made him to be the only person who manipulates the speed force and pass on speed to anything he want, hell they gave him the morbius chair i don't know if that is what its called but yeah and Manhattam powers. It's no longer about Barry Allen its now all about Wally West. Barry Allen is gonna be forgotten soon. He will be appearing as just a sidekick at best or they will say he is retired

@@10xyourlife65 its not like theyre shitting on his name, it's more keeping the character development Wally had. It took him at 75 issues just to be as fast as Barry. He started out slower after CoIE, only faster than sound, but after Return of Barry Allen when he conquered his fears, he became as fast as Barry, and gradually he became faster and grabbing more tricks with SF. Barry will most likely be the main Flash for decades, but I respect Joshua Williamson for keeping Wally's character development.

Superman is physically strongest and toughest.
But Eobard/Barry/top tier speedsters are fastest and most deadly/versatile.
Speedsters at peak potential have infinite speed == infinite momentum and infinite damage.
Superman’s power, whilst being immense, have limits (mostly based around how much Sun he has absorbed).
It’s like comparing his:
Superman: Strength - 100 trillion units
Durability - 300 trillion units
Speed - 100 billion units
Flash/….etc : Strength - 20 units
Speed - Infinity
Durability - 30 units
But yes, at that kind of speed they are the most powerful beings to exist in DC universe. Only Dr. Manhattan and some celestials (whoso bodies don’t really matter, as they exist outside of time/space/reason).
At this speed, yeah, Reverse Flash can punch a hole in Superman in one strike, and he wouldn’t be able to dodge or even react to it.
Oh this story line was everything.

Disappointed that Jay didn't come back although this story really hit me in the nostalgia feels and reminded me that although I've been reading comics for 39 years and I grew up with Barry, Wally West is, and always will be, MY Flash.

I mean Wally isnt exactly faster than barry because a lot of people are saying he is faster because he caught up to Hunter and that is also the reason Wally says that line about him being faster but the thing is only Wally could do anything against Hunter since he had the whole temporal thing going on with him so he was the one who had to catch Hunter and there was no point in Barry trying to catch him since he couldnt do anything to fight Hunter.Also when they were running trying to break the speed force Barry stopped to save Hal while Wally kept running then Barry caught up to him again and started running beside him. So there is no decisive winner between who is faster of the two

Flashpoint was made for his mom all continuity erased, Future Barry in New 52 gone bad, Rebirth Barry careless to protect speed force there's a storm, Barry fails to save Jay Garrick, Barry gone negative and flattened Central city, Barry fueled the Turtle and Grodd to doom the galaxy for Umbrax to win.

Lex Bryant Barry wasn't new to time travel when he tried to save his dead mom and change history, he was the silver flash a veteran hero. He shouldn't have even thought of the idea. Wally's case is so much different because the speed force speaks to him in ways Barry can't hear and Wally felt his children trapped inside of it. Wally didn't try to change reality but to break the barriers in the speed force. Wally unleashed energies that lied dormant and he freed Bart Allen from his prison. Barry couldn't remember to pull out Jay Garrick who was his idol since childhood. Gimme a break.

Lex Bryant compared to the Flashpoint the crack in speed force is a hiccup that will grant Wally and Barry wisdom and strength powers the same ones Grodd and Jai West used all this time. Considering the joke with invisible spectrum and different new forces is Scott Snyder's idea it will fizzle out and be forgotten by the next event. What I hate about Barry is his hypocrisy and cruelty using Superman and Wonder Woman to escort Wally to a psychiatric clinic like he was the Joker or Psycho Pirate when all Wally wanted was his family back. Rebirth promised a brighter future is that it?

My favourite Flash is Barry. If it weren’t for him, there would be no silver age of comics and the comic industry wouldn’t be what it is. Plus he brought in the concept of the Multiverse. He’s incredibly important. Recently I feel like DC have been pushing him to the side. Wally fans complain about how Wally was pushed to the side but whenever Barry fans bring up how it’s happened to Barry, they just respond with ‘yeah but Wally...’ which is unfair. I mean in 2009 rebirth Barry was confirmed to be the Speed Force Generator and its creator, he was given something that made him unique amongst the Flashes. Now thanks to Scott Snyders JL and Joshua Williamson’s run of Flash, that’s been Retconned and made more confusing. It feels like they’re making Barry the new Jay Garrick.
They’re decreasing his importance and what he can do and even now Wally is going back to the red and yellow Flash and Barry’s being relegated. People say Wally isn’t in Barry’s shadow, but he’s using the Flash title which he did earn but I think him creating his own identity with his Rebirth suit and calling himself say ‘Velocity’ would really cement him not being Barry’s successor. People respond to that with ‘well Barry took up Jay’s role’. He didn’t. Jay was a comic book character on Earth-1 who inspired Barry. Barry is the first Flash of Earth-1 so he created the identity of the Flash. This sort of thinking from Wally Fans is starting to borderline of Stan-ish behaviour.
Let’s be fair, Wally only became more powerful because the writers became more creative with Flash’s powers, had Barry lived past Crisis on Infinite Earths, Barry would’ve gotten that development. So it’s not like they always wanted Wally to be better, it’s just that they became more creative and Wally was the Flash at the time so they introduced these concepts with Wally. It’s just like how they did the improvement and variety of Green Lantern constructs with Kyle Rayner. Because he was the Green Lantern at the time so they experimented with him, and said the reason for it was because he was an artist.
It made sense for Barry to be faster when he was the creator for the Speed Force like with Hal Jordan and his Rebirth Ring. He created it from his own willpower and thus has the strongest connection to it and a stronger connection to the Emerald light.
What I think they should do, is make Barry and Wally equal in speed. Neither is faster than the other. What makes them better than the other is how they use other Speed Force abilities. I imagine it as there are some Speed Force abilities that Barry can use but Wally can’t (like Flashtime or Speed Thinking or being able to use Speed Force lightning as an offensive projectile weapon), but then there are some that Wally can do that Barry can’t (like Speed lending and stealing or Speed Force constructs).
That way both are better than each other for different situations, but neither is faster than the other. You’re not bringing Wally down in speed, you’re bringing Barry up. That way both are the Fastest Men Alive and both Wally and Barry are better than each other in different ways.
It would be like the Green Lanterns. My favourite is Hal Jordan, then Guy, then Kohn, then Kyle. In my mind they are all better than each other for different reasons, but they are all the same power level, they just appear more powerful because of how they use the Power of the Emerald Light differently. Granted Hal is more powerful, but before it was because he was the greatest. Now it’s because he made his ring.
Hal is more experienced and can use the power of his ring the best. He’s more powerful than any other Green Lantern, because his Will & Emerald Light is more inherently potent than any others and he ha better control. So for those reasons he better than the others.
Guy Gardener is better than the others because he will do whatever it takes to get the job done, he will drain every bit of juice from his ring before he retreats. He’s hard as nails and the guy you want in your corner because he’s an unstoppable force.
John Stewart is better than the others because he’s disciplined. He is strategic, he won’t make constructs that will blow up or weapons, he won’t do things as a one man army. He’ll make constructs of soldiers to serve as an army and support him while he does his own thing and makes his own constructs.
Kyle is better than the others because he thinks differently. He makes elaborate and complex costumes like mechs or crazy unimaginable weapons. He’s more imaginative with his power.
Each of them are better than then other so are more useful for different situations:
You want a diplomat or team leader: John Stewart.
You want someone to go in guns blazing and do whatever it takes: Guy Gardener.
You want someone who’s versatile, unpredictable and has more inherently potent power: Hal Jordan.
You want someone who will make complex constructs to throw enemies off or to back up team members or someone who will always have a positive attitude no matter what: Kyle Rayner
The problem with the Flash is that Wally is faster than Barry and can do everything Barry can and more. It makes Barry obsolete and makes you think: ‘why do the Justice League bother with Barry when they could have Wally who’s superior?’
It makes you think about what the actual point of Barry is. He analytical? Well Batman & Cybrog fill those roles in the JL. He’s a forensic scientist? What could is that when facing off against an army.
Barry hasn’t really got anything going for him. DC are clinging to him because he’s Barry Allen and he’s nostalgic. But Wally is superior in every way. It just makes Barry seem useless and, like I said, a lot like Jay Garrick. They’re even replacing him as the Flash with Wally.
DC have gone so deep into pleasing Wally fans that they have forgotten about how what they’re doing affects Barry.
I think they should do something similar to what they do with Green Lanterns/what I suggested because then both are more useful than the other and both fanbases can be happy.

Didio had infamously wanted to kill Nightwing during both Infinite Crisis and Forever Evil. In his mind the Legacy Characters make the main Justice Leaguers too old. (BRUCE IS ATLEAST 40 EXCEPT IT!) I know I dont HAVE to read it, but just the idea of them possibility turning Wally into a Reverse-Flash after he had been the MAIN character from 1987-2009 is just insulting.
