Thanos: I'll kill half the universe that'll solve this problem!! Me: why not just make every resource infinitely replace itself in the same spot after a day Thanos: cuz death is hot asf Me: oh carry on
Okay, say he creates infinite resources instead of killing half of everyone. I feel like that would leave it open for life to grow unchecked endlessly beyond generational limits of species and wouldn't that lead to a situation similar to the Cancer-verse? An unbalanced universe seeping out of it's dimensional boundaries. Idk, what do you think?
This video was excellent! It has been years since I read the comics, and someone stole my whole comic book collection that I had amassed since I was a kid. Many of the issues were signed by Stan Lee and the total value was around $20,000. It breaks my heart, but this narration of the Infinity Gauntlet has made me happy. Thank you.
@Darth Pancake Studios It's also outdated. Thanos came about in the 70s. That period of time had a love affair with death in general in some ways. Really? A story where Iron man is killed off in a corner of a panel? I know that in comics he is like a B-tier character but still. This does not fit movies that well. 1:26:35 or so, he basically defeats everybody, turns Thor into glass, Cyclops suffocates, others are sent to dinosaur age, he destroys other heroes like flies. At 31:30 , you mentioned that Odin actually hadn't lost an eye, he was wearing an eye patch for ceremonial reasons. I thought he gave the eye to the Well of Mirmir (might have spelled that wrong) for insight/wisdom) and Thor visited it to learn about his past incarnations
The movie was freaking awesome. For anybody expecting it to be like the comics they are kidding themselves. I think they did an amazing job with all the characters they do have rights too. Also I love how they did Thanos in the movie. It was cool to see the Gauntlet in full force finally on screen.
Fighter Pilot yea expect for some errors, from hulk getting beaten so easily and yet you get thor going all 6 infinity gems like that was a huge error. Looks like the writters didn't know which infinity gem does what
I actually like this story more than infinity war/endgame. Thanos is such a different character in both interpretations, but hes so interesting in the comics.
It is even better when you add Deadpool to the mix. Thanos truly loves Mistress Death. Deadpool is Mistress Death's booty call. Thanos cursed Deadpool with eternal life in order to keep Deadpool from banging the woman of his dreams.
This video is what got me back into comics. I read 20 issues of the Ultimate Spider-Man 20 years ago but that's it. After this video, I bought the Infinity Gauntlet and The Rebirth of Thanos trade paperbacks, as well as Infinity Watch & The Infinity War. Now, I'm 20 omnis deep and I keep discovering more and more amazing comic book stories (mostly modern ones, post 1990). Thank you, Rob.
I love that you leave in messing up on names. Just out of purely relating to it, when I talk comics I mess up on virtually everything and have to back track so it’s refreshing to see it on a thought out video like this. It’s candid! Just found the channel, can’t wait to catch up with more recent stuff you’ve done! Keep it up, you’re awesome👊
Jojo 1961 it was more about balancing the universe in the mcu do to there not being enough resources to go around. His home planet titan was a victim of this which created his resolve to wipe out half of the universe. Neither reasons whether it was for lady death or to bring balance were good reasons imo but they say he’s a mad titan for a reason
smitty werbenjagermanjensen hardly, thst is exactly what mistress death said to thanos to balance the universe, mostly want more living beings dead and thanosmis a sucker for mistress death request. I forgot but he was called the mad titan because he ends up doing something to be worth and rules his own planet. Like he took full control of it from his own bare hands just like that.
Calvin Cameron the movie version of thanos was soft and more sympathetic compared to the comics version which is more sadistic, cold blooded killer, ruthless, and full of raw power hopefully in avengers 4 we will see a much darker and killer instinct version of thanos
CaptainMarvell92 Returns the movie portrayed thanos pretty well he’s more relatable rather than arrogant which imo is better than being a one dimensional super villain of the week
sikid4000 sorry you’re right relatable is the wrong way to put it I guess human? Is better it seems like in the comic he’s just more straight up evil where in the movie he definitely cares about gamora and is really messed up about having to kill her to complete his mission I mean he doesn’t hesitate so obviously he’s not the greatest dad ever or anything but I feel like if comic thanos had a similar situation to run into he wouldn’t really care about just straight up killing gamora to get to be with death
One of the best videos on the channel. Didn't watch everything from it but did at least watch a good portion of it and it was right before Infinity War came out and helped me gain more context to that film plus hearing Rob's incredible narration here never ceases to amaze me. All in all I give this video 6/6 six Infinity gems.
Hey there! I appreciate you taking the time to narrate the entire gauntlet story. I came to this because I had heard that the narrative we were given from Hollywood in the marvel movies was not the entire story and the movies left out a vital piece as to why Thanos was doing everything to begin with. After understanding the why I completely came under bafflement as to why they chose to remove such an integral piece of the story. Again, thanks so much for narrating this. I am only 40 minutes into the story that you are presenting and I am enjoying it immensely!
This Titanic effort put forth by you to have this much content about a comic book series story arc is commendable. You are an amazing content creator and I want to let you know I really do appreciate all of your effort all of the time and the passion that you put forth into all that you do for this channel
Thank you so much for these full stories. I always collected comics growing up, but never really read them. I usually drive about 500 miles to and from my family every other weekend and listening to these on my trips really helps pass the time too.
This entire dynamic between thanos and mistress death really is the definition of “bitches be trippin” homie gave you the universe and it wasn’t enough😂
This guy seems really knowledgeable, and I was looking forward to hearing what he had to say until I saw the metric ton of ads. There are 37 ads in this video. The video is ~150 minutes long. This translates to 1 ad every 4 minutes, for two and a half hours straight. Literally unwatchable.

For the most part, Thanos kicking ass.

Dr.Stranges Demon servant taking Pip's cigar and putting it out is a great little side gag.

I am at 321 count for the use of "what we see" and I am only 8 minutes in
R Lux this is such an awesome idea! Ha
"He literally beat me by one second" :) or in this case a couple months
I would have rather liked seeing this on the big screen. I feel like this is just a better story.
Amber Slahlize this is why we can’t have nice things
It is just a blood bath that just does not fit movie stories.
@@dawzavelithedon6882 I can't tell if that's a knock off me, but it makes no sense no matter how I process that....
How does my opinion matter towards 'nice things'? Are you saying not many people like this idea, or are you saying a lot of people liked this idea?
@@Fujtajblus I see nothing wrong with that.
@@Fujtajblus I agree. Thanos and a few people who are famous because they're connected to Thanos are the only characters who matter here, everyone else is just there to hype him. Endgame was trying to cap off everyone's stories. I wish he'd used the Gauntlet's powers a lot more in Endgame, it felt like he forgot he had it sometimes, but not like this.
Wow it just seems Thanos is way stronger in the comics...by ALOT.
He is. He’s way stronger, and way more powerful. He’s pretty much nigh omnipotent with the IG, but he was nerfed really hard in the MCU
@@alirahman8642 Thats what I keep saying on my facebook profile.
He was heavily nerfed in the movie. Lol.
*DUDE* He *ECLIPSES* MCU Thanos in all Power, even before the Infinity Gauntlet .
LOL
most characters in mcu are nerfed. even the superheroes. they had to. otherwise the movies are gonna feel too clumped for a non comic book fan if the movies stay true to its comic counterparts
I quite enjoyed this video...”for the most part”
And what we see is mephisto seeing thanos being seen by mistress death while we see it.
This is my all time favorite comic Arc
all the power in all of the universe cant make someone love you. Pretty important lesson.
I've read this story arc maybe 10 times and you made it a totally new experience. Great voice and passion for the story. Keep going.
Ok, Thanos is tragic and sad and all that, but you have to admit his way of thinking is insane.
Nihilism will do that to you.
PUT YOYR GRASSES ON
Hey ur pretty strong 💪😉
He is mad
This made me sad that we won't see any of the X-Men or Fantastic Four appear in End Game. Great video though!
Facts... that why I didnt really enjoy avengers...
None of the Fantastic Four were in the original Infinity Guaunlet 6 issue comic.
@gary hall yeah they were. They were in the crossover issues.
Doctor Doom will ALWAYS go for absolute power!
*"THE LIVING TRIBUNAL SHALL NOT BECOME IN THIS MATTER."* - Myself.
He does though, he deactivated the infinity gauntlet later on with Adam warlock
I kept asking for Adam Warlock and I found your old videos covering it all. Thank you for all you hard work and your contribution to bringing Marvel to those that wouldn't know what is what (me) with out your Marvelous content!
In my opinion, the most epic moment during MARVEL's: The Infinity Gauntlet was issue #5, "Astral Conflagration". In 'AC', Uatu observed Thanos wielding the Infinity Gauntlet, bested the Massive Cosmic Entities. Among the MCEs ranks were Eternity, Death, Galactus, Stranger, Kronos, Epoch, Mephisto, Order, Chaos, Love, Hate, Ziran & One Above All.
if silver surfer was in the MCU would be awesome

Ah, the things I watch at 2 AM
You really pushed the limits of how many ads you can put on a video
Haha
I have a solution for you and for everyone who is frustrated by the ads "Download and install the Addblock and you don't have to write this comment here". It's also simple
I have UA-cam premium how many ads were there?
Two options, support the fact he made a 2 hour long video free of charge to you. Or use brave browser and get rid of ads and well as having youtube okay in background when you leave the browser
Lol why pay for that when multiple browsers do literally everything youtube premium does, except for specific youtube created content
Who came back here after Avengers Endgame! Coz this is Avengers Endgame in an Alternate Reality, maybe a past dimensions where Fox and Disney were together.
RJ B noo this is the orignal end game the other is in another reality
Or with the Fox Disney merger, a future endgame...RETCONS!!!
actually this is original
>Be Thanos
>Sees Mistress Death
>Falls in love
>Gets friendzoned
>Obtains limitless power to impress her
>Gets outsmarted by Space Jesus
>_fuckthisshitimout.JPG
>Goes to live out a farm
Space Jesus man. You gotta love him
And then killed by Thor in his farm house.
So the silver surfer at the beginning is replaced by banner in IW?
Yea bcuz marvel didnt have the license 4 the silver surfer
At 31:30 , you mentioned that Odin actually hadn't lost an eye, he was wearing an eye patch for ceremonial reasons. I thought he gave the eye to the Well of Mirmir (might have spelled that wrong) for insight/wisdom) and Thor visited it to learn about his past incarnations
Thanos is thirsty AF.
He'd definitely facebook stalk death irl.
Looks like the writters didn't know which infinity gem does what
Jojo 1961 ..he definitely was disappointed..for doing what he did..maybe it'll be shown later...
Shazbat Agatha what i do know is russo trying to explain and fix the issue on what the writers did, because they actually respect hulk.
Jojo 1961 your comment is unnecessarily hard to read
Sergio Mendoza I am guessing you mean my last comment, i had a few touch screen mistakes, fix it now.
Once you hear "for the most part" you will notice how often he uses it. I don't mind it, just can't un-hear it. Also "more or less" :)
How bout "what we see here"?
I actually like this story more than infinity war/endgame. Thanos is such a different character in both interpretations, but hes so interesting in the comics.
Damnit, ive read too much manga since i used to read comics that my brain wants to read the panels backwards lol
Pfft weebs
Jk berserk is cool i guess

Relationship between thanos and mistress death is the pinnacle of toxic relationship
It is even better when you add Deadpool to the mix. Thanos truly loves Mistress Death. Deadpool is Mistress Death's booty call. Thanos cursed Deadpool with eternal life in order to keep Deadpool from banging the woman of his dreams.
Nickolati 😁till the life do us apart
I read your name as Ajit Pai.
Amey Nanote 'ajit' is my uncle's name as for 'pai'🤔🤔dunno what it means.
That's still not as bad as my relationships with women. I've been single for three years now, because... Because fuck that shit, that's why.
I watched this from start to finish and I can honestly say I was fully focused for the whole duration and your content is fantastic.

Yeah Brian funk you broham
I love that you leave in messing up on names. Just out of purely relating to it, when I talk comics I mess up on virtually everything and have to back track so it’s refreshing to see it on a thought out video like this. It’s candid! Just found the channel, can’t wait to catch up with more recent stuff you’ve done! Keep it up, you’re awesome👊
The Movie made Thanos a tragic character it's a great take on his personality and what drives him.
Calvin Cameron technically make more sense if his doing all this for mistress death, unless the film not mentioning her makes thanos goal worthless
Jim Starlin's Thanos has always been a bit tragic.
Thanks for all your videos. I LOVE having these huge series explained to me.
Nev's Tech Bits C x FV
i think so
It's much more, than just a story...
Do you ever go and read the actual comics after or never?
Nev's Tech Bits on n
No one can write Thanos but Jim Starlin. Other authors just can't stop messing up the character.
CaptainMarvell92 Returns the movie portrayed thanos pretty well he’s more relatable rather than arrogant which imo is better than being a one dimensional super villain of the week
@@sergiomendoza4040 I love the movie, but in what way is he relatable? Are you lunatic?
sikid4000 sorry you’re right relatable is the wrong way to put it I guess human? Is better it seems like in the comic he’s just more straight up evil where in the movie he definitely cares about gamora and is really messed up about having to kill her to complete his mission I mean he doesn’t hesitate so obviously he’s not the greatest dad ever or anything but I feel like if comic thanos had a similar situation to run into he wouldn’t really care about just straight up killing gamora to get to be with death
@@sergiomendoza4040 I think you mean he's understandable in the sense he thinks he's doing what is right. Despite it being totally insane.
@@sikid4000 🤣🤣🤣gd point!

This is how the gauntlet should be in the movies
Bro honestly u changed my entire perspective on marvel thank you.
Take a shot every time he says “ For the most part”
I was watching the old video when this was uploaded. Good timing.
By far the best explanation for the infinity story on UA-cam. Thanks for taking the time to make the video and presenting it so clearly.
Watching this 5 years later
Thank you so much for these full stories. I always collected comics growing up, but never really read them. It's so nice being able to learn and know so much about each event in Marvel's and DC's history.
Thograr Powersmasher adblocker? I’m watching on my iPad and have not seen any ads.
He did all this for a woman. Jesus, Thanos needs some love.

She's not. She's probably under the property of Fox as she appears in Deadpool comics pretty often.
