Note: We've pretty much done it all with The Reaper. But the One thing I've yet to accomplish is defeating The Reaper in a single blow. Is it even possible? Does it sound absurd? I suppose it does. But who's to say we can't? So let's dig a little deeper today and see just exactly what it would take to put him down in a single blow from Full to Zero HP.

I use mind charge (forgot the name of the p5 equivalent lol) and myriad truths when farming reaper in p5r. At 80-90 I was ending him in like two to three turns without even preparing

I know there's a DLC persona with Almighty boost, but that wouldn't help. Phantom used a 99 Ma Arsene with both Almighty Boost and Almighty Amp.

it depends what type of games you like in my opinion its a really good game but it is really long and could take about 100 hours to complete

Persona 5 is a really good game in MY opinion so you may not like it Because of how long it takes to beat the game and that's really all I can think of that people wouldnt like it is only $20 on ps4 so it shouldnt be to much of a risk to buy

Clicked this video as soon as I saw it. Bit disappointing, but still really interesting!
kept scratching my head for several hours after i saw this vid, and despite me trying all the math in the world i can't think of anyway you could increase your damage, i was thinking if you could charge a one shot kill on him while he was frozen it might work but i'm pretty sure the odds of freezing him are near zero (and you'd have to do damage to him anyways which breaks the challenge) .

since an enemy dies after 3 turns of despair, don't go during flu season. just buff up, debuff him, use a sleep, fear,rage etc, then use psychosis. this makes it so you can use heat riser

If you try this on Royal, you could have other players in your party with the Rings that come from Will Seeds/Crystals.(In Royal, if you collect three Will Seeds they become a Crystal, and a character named Jose will turn them into Rings that give you extra moves you can use).
The one from Kamoshida has a move called Champion's Cup, that restores HP and gives an Attack Boost to whoever it's used on (ex. Have Ryuji use it on Joker), and have someone else use the one from Shido that gives Tyrant's Courage (say, have Ann have that one to use on Joker), which casts Concentrate and Charge (Concentrate works for Physical I believe, and Charge is for Physical).
With a party of four, maybe three, it might be possible to do, if you have allies cast those moves on Joker, and have Joker go for the kill shot
If you're looking to do more damage with your Personas, upping the ST stat (Strength) and LU (Luck) might just Boost you far enough to do it in one shot
Beat the Reaper without any passive skills in the fewest turns possible. Merciless difficulty.

@@makotoyuki8690 Even with Heat Riser and Concentrate, Black Viper isn't so powerful without Almighty amp., Almighty boost and magic ability.
Plus, you cannot regenerate HP or SP unless you use an item, and you have to be cautious of your Persona's weaknesses, since you cannot use passive skills to null them. There is also ali dance, angelic grace, firm stance, enduring soul... Those are very powerful passive skills
Here's an idea if the reaper can be downed by crits.
Grab ryuji, Morgana, and someone else who can easily crit.
Set up with joker, instead of using down shot use miracle punch, and something that'll get ryuji a high chance to crit.
Baton pass to Morgana, then to joker, then use psycho force.
Win? Maybe?

what about cheesing the twins?
Impossible
They can't get any status ailments, which means no despair technical cheese
They cant be critical attacked, or down shotted I think so that doesn't work.
They have no element weaknesses.
And both need to die on the same attack or they'll revive eachother and I'm pretty sure they then fully heal
And although they dont have actual elemental resistances, their defense is stupid high.
The best and most common method is to use is Yoshitsune/Kaguya (preferably yoshi), build him for pure damage, have another support persona for buffing joker/almighty damage(common ones I see are Odin or Satanael) heat riser on joker, charge/concentrate, and then Hassu Tobi/Shining Arrows for roughly 1000 damage, rinse and repeat until dead. It is also optional and an SP saver bring a healer better known as worst girl makoto. But bringing too many party members can be a risk since the twins have hard hitting attacks of every element asides from bless and curse that can down your teammates allowing them to chain attacks.

Well, now there are traits you can abuse. You could abuse Positive Thoughts to get a higher Tarukaja buff while you also Debilitate the Reaper before the buff timer runs out, then switch into a Will of the Sword boosted Black Viper from Satanael?
Or just cheese it with Izanagi no Okami/Picaro's Myriad Truths lol
Not sure if this is anywhere near possible, but maybe a "Can you one-shot The Twins" (Caroline and Justine)

The release of Persona 5 Royal made it possible to take the Reaper out in one hit and NOT with use of Izanagi No Okami but rather, Showtime attack fully boosted by passives, trait, and charge. Reaper was Debilitated and Joker had auto Heat Riser at start of battle. Damage output came to 7501 on Hard Mode and 5657 on Merciless.
It’s a good thing they didn’t bring back spell fusion in this game; imagine what Armageddon would’ve looked like in P5’s graphics engine...

I have a suggestion: try using a Persona who inherits(represented by Str affinity) Psy. It might not help, but who knows, maybe it would.

Confirmed: Izanagi no Okami one shots Reaper. I did it on Merciless with InO around 86 magic (not sure though), Myriad Truths + almighty boost + almighty amp + heat riser + debilitate, 65% registry completion. I didn't have to down the reaper with the special gun attack.

So maybe you might be able to edge out enough to one shot him

@TrainerblueTube You just reminded me that _Persona 4 Golden_ gives you the option to save after the 4th set of exams. It doesn't force you, but...it's probably a good idea...
