Awesome stuff Scotty, thanks for sharing! You see, this is the sort of stuff most people thinking about China has no idea of and still think the country is behind tech wise and whatnot. Most consumers end up thinking only about the final consumer products that they are buying as if they came up to existence by magic, but they have no idea about all these industrial level equipment that makes high volume production possible... plus the entire enormous and crazy level infrastructure and logistics that is behind all the modern tech stuff we consume. There's a whole ton of technology development in these areas that China has that the rest of the world simply doesn't. It's some amazing stuff behind the scenes that we don't get to see or know much about. So again, thanks for sharing Scotty. It's cool stuff and all, but I think more importantly, it demystifies and uncovers information that's important for people to kill some misconceptions and just incomplete ideas mainstream has around these things. A lot of stuff that goes on between raw materials and getting an actual product that we conveniently ignore that needs companies like that to come into fruition.
Haven't heard of fibre-optic lasers powerful enough to be used for metal cutting, that's fascinating! Amazing video as always, love your factory tours.
China has a reputation for producing cheaply made stuff, but here's a perfect example of them creating some incredibly precise and good quality pieces. Thanks Strange Parts for showing us this awesome facility.

I semi professionally build 3D Metal models, and wondered how they were done. Looking in to getting the Dremel Cutter soon. Lol loved the guy walking up with the glasses who's face clearly said, hey guys, we are on camera, put these on for me lol.
Quite impressed how quickly the laser cut the 1/2" Aluminum. That would've taken at least 5 minutes on an abrasive waterjet and would still need finishing to clean up the tapered kerf.
Great video, I like the fact that the company are showing even they have problems too with their Gas supplies. Lots of videos are edited to show only the final result and don't include the little problems along the way.
To be fair, the first half was in their demo center. The second half, where they were welding, was naturally a bit dirtier. But it's also a very new factory - only 9 months old!
I came here thinking great a video from Strange Parts..... and then I had to sit through watching stuff I do 8 days a week. Great video and, like pretty much everbody else commenting, the thing that sticks out so much about your tours around these business' is how enthusiastic and accomodating the owners and staff are.
I am truly impressed with how well other countries speak English, it is a very hard language to learn for a foreigner, and yet they speak it in some cases better than a lot of native speakers :)

1980' Chinese student learn english since 6 grade in compulsory education, now student t learn english since primary school, every student need pass 4000 english words n college to be graduated and get their college certificate. English is a main subject in national college entrance examination together with other 3 subject: Chinese, Maths, arts comprehensive ability test or Science comprehensive ability test.
Awesome that they were so hospitable! I've trained at MC Machinery on Mitsubishi lasers. They were really uptight and, tbh, their lasers weren't as cool. I think most places in the US would likely tell people to get lost, but they really went all out here. Great vid! Wow... Just saw the price. That's way less than a Mitsubishi laser! Surprising because even the 5000 watt non-fiber mitsu costs over 1 million US and cuts at a max of 3/8". Here, you're getting more than double the wattage for significantly thicker cuts, the added speed of fiber optics versus mirrors, and you're paying less than half the price. Their quality seems superb too. Again, awesome vid! Don't forget your PPE 😎

@@anglerandy5736 The safety glasses are for scattered light. With 1-12Kw of light concentrated in a 0.1mm spot, even at 1-2 meters, the scattering could damage your eyes. Fyi, since lamps for lighting are rated by wall power, that's like a 4-48Kw lighting system all in a 0.1mm spot. Think sports field lighting all converging on a tiny spot...
@@martylawson1638 The laser itself is infrared (anywhere from 1500 to 2500 nm) and as such the scattered IR radiation is not damaging to the eyes. I've worked with these cutters before and you can feel the IR Radiation on your skin (as heat) but can't see the scatter. By comparison, blue laser cutters (i.e. diode laser cutters) are much much more dangerous - even though they are very low power (1-10 watts)
@@MKhurramAziz Have you confirmed the laser frequency? Best of my knowledge if the fiber laser is putting out more than 50W it's almost certainly a fiber Nd:YAG or Nd:Glass laser. Those are most efficient at 1064nm and 1060nm. At both wavelengths your eye is transparent and will focus any scattered light. Also, the safety glasses would be almost clear for a 1550 or 2500nm laser instead of the dark tint shown in the video.

I'm sure there are enterprise customers watching these videos, in which case doing a tour and posting it for everyone to see no doubt helps Bescutter with sales. Smart for them to invite you in considering you have 1.55 million subscribers, they're bound to a get a sale or two out of that pool of people. Might seem small, but at half a million dollars, I think it's worth it for them (and other manufacturers) to allow you to do tours. It's just smart business to let someone like you come and film the manufacturing process. Hopefully more factories see that and you can go tour all the coolest factories in the world.

17:10 - the gain medium of a fiber laser is optical fiber. There's a whole bunch of it twirled up in that box. It is also carried out to the cutting head via a fiber but the name for the technology comes from the fact that light is amplified in a optical fiber.

Pshh, half inch is nothing even for a 4,000 watt CO2 laser. I'm impressed the 12,000 watt can do 2 inches!
