  • In todays video we want to know what do you think of these bulls?! We get the last lot of bulls weighed, clipped and dosed. The final 2 groups of calves also come in for the winter and get a trim and weighed.

    Add the left over Pumpkins into the Keenan at time of feeding - cows will eat the Pumpkins once they are broken up.

    I recommend you heavily Lime all the fields where you had a problem with Cattle Worms, (Parasites) it is an old remedy but it works.

    Cattle didn’t do well this year, crap weather and no feeding in grass imo.

      Fact, just see how far back dairy volumes and milk solids are!! Grass was pure scour this year

    We finish cattle on grass buy as yearlings in New Zealand, we aim to have them ready to go before the second winter, this years lot are perfectly on target, but our winter was wet but not cold, the spring grass growth has been excellent. We buy if the price is right and have surplus grass going into winter.

    High phill we use a pour on macrocyclic lactone anthelmintic also kills lice and mites helps control worms and gut worms

    well phil, just put a batch of calves in the shed, clipped backs and tails, dosed and on straw bedding, averaging about 250kg, what feeding are you given the likes of these? thanks

    U must be a non drinker and be loading cattle the morning after a wedding.i wouldnt be able to spit not alone go loading cattle.u have big weights there.the cheque will be good this year phil.another item can be bought for the yard

    Probably not too surprising that daily gain from grass was back this year Phil. In dairy, both volume & kg of milk solids is back from grass & price don't warrant much meal so milk well back this year! Putting it down to the wicked changeable weather all year long

    We gained 1.5kg on bulls just on cake and silage, we kept them in smaller groups.

      Dinner table. The bulls tend to be quieter when they’ve never been with cows

      No theirs absolutely no difference in what I’ve experienced in taste or quality of the meat between the 2

    I’d say father Phil takes all the profits from the beef and puts its into the contracting side as the yard and shed’s are failing badly and we never see him do anything with stock.. he has no time in the winter for what ?
