I don't have many snares, but having bought the 14x5 maple it's already my favourite one by far!
I don't think you'll need any other wood snare after this one, because it has everything you'd want.
It's very dynamic, from barely tapping the skin, to playing loud rimshots, and just feels great to play.
The wooden tone is audible throughout a large tuning range, and if you pair it with a Remo Clear Controlled Sound, you get a nice pop.
So really nothing not to like!

Just ordered the Mapel Mahogany 14x6 I needed a really good wood snare as i already have the 1970's Chrome Over Brass Slingerland Buddy Rich TDR 14x6. That drum pretty much covers the non wood sound at any tuning!...I cant wait to lay into that new Pearl Maple mahogany drum!❤👍It Looks and Sounds Fantastic!!😲
