Adam is an absolute beast! Love how you guys honoured Tom with the first completion achievement but in no way does that undermine what you guys did here as a team, topped off with providing a great vibe, fantastic filming and editing. Monumental achievement, every one of you should be very proud.
Guys, this is fantastic! Love your video production, and you did an amazing job with the mission. I couldn't believe that it was actually possible to run across Wales like that (let alone in a straight line), but wow, Adam did it. Looking forward to more videos from you! All the best!
Well done guys, and good on you for offering GW the chance to cinch it once and for all first, super gentlemanly of you all. But this was a unique achievement all its own as well, worth being proud of!
Was kinda hoping that geowizard would be waiting at the finish line. Awesome that you managed to do this. Huge thumbs up for talking to geowizard before doing this!
Bravo, Bravo, Bravo.... watching from the USA...the yellow submarine boat did his job too... great help to all who joined in support... thanks...🎉🎉🏃♂🏃♂
Damn you guys!! This means the rest of my evening is written off to watch these videos. Love this collab. I hope to see Fieldhouses vs. Geowizard irl challenges in future
Honestly with the first video I wasn’t overly invested, I totally didn’t mind the support crews or anything I thought it added a bit of fun and lighthearted silliness, it just wasn’t overall really the kind of vibe I get invested in in videos like this. Holy hell though, I’m glad I got past the scare of the mad farmer in episode two because this ended up being quite the incredible feat! Cheers! Also, I wouldn’t mind your original vibe in a different setting with a different type of goal though, maybe a more urban area, or with a different type of challenge. I’d love to see your support team bring you all different kinds of crafts and vehicles you have to use and ride to get through areas, the duck can make a reappearance even😆
A splendid effort, lads. I am quite amazed at the speed Adam mantained without ever looking totally exhausted the way Tom was during his run - absolutely not having a go at Tom here though, he certainly had the worse route and less "real time support". Both runs were a joy to watch and I hope to see more from you guys in the future. Crossing Antarctica in a straight line should be doable ;)
Congratulations lads. Really proud of you. This is such an accomplishment which you will treasure for the rest of your lives. It was wonderful to watch you lads do this challenge to see where you ended up, hoping it would be my hometown. Thankfully you chose the right line and made it to my beautiful home town of Aberystwyth!! Llongyfarchiadau!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
This was incredible. Been following Tom for a long time, I'm super happy he made the line first. You brought a really nice twist to this madness GeoWizard created, with an awesome energy and to my surprise, a super nice vibe and storytelling, and really nice information on the videos. Well done guys! I don't know if it's the universe, or if we really live in a simulation, but I had an idea about 5 years ago, to do a photographic series, that are all taken in a straight line. Yet to be made. But it's in the pocket for the future! Congrats!
I was sceptical of the approach. I thought the frequent support team meetings and going ahead to set up a rope etc was "impure" compared to geowizards more self sufficient efforts. BUT as a fan of endurance sports, by the end you fully won me over with the speed run. Absolutely epic effort lads and well put together too.
Point of note is that you could emulate the support crew by just stashing a huge amount. Pre-walk your line and place everything where you need it along the way and you'd get the full support crew value (food, water, clothes changes, rafts when needed, ropes when needed, camping gear when needed while carrying nothing on your own and could sweep all the stuff back up after you finish the run. The support crew just makes that go from an incredibly dumb annoying slow expensive process to a much more convenient one. But it's not actually providing any benefit over a solo runner.
@mooncalf_4534 not quite. At one point the support crew had gone ahead, scaled a tough descent, attached a rope and gave guidance on foot placing. On another occasion they had stretched the rope over an expanse of water ready and all he had to do was pull himself along on the duck, certain to stay on line. You can't come close to replicating that even with good stashing. Like I said though, the physical achievement of covering the ground the way he did on a speed run is immense! Just a very different kind of challenge.
any% is a recognized category of speed runs. I feel like that should apply here as well! The Chess Teacher tried doing a solo march and only got 2 miles in.
I think the support crew with a drone was going a bit far, but the speed run changes the dynamics imo, it's way harder when you're running and basically throwing yourself through gorse and hedgerows.
You guys have a very different vibe to straight line missionning than GeoWizard. You earned yourselves a subscriber, can't wait for the next one. Maybe somewhere on the continent?
its an incredable effort, in fact its totally mind blowing to a fat git like me, a platy run aswell. how ever i think geowizard trully derserved the 1st honours in doing this, which again i take my hats of to you for not stealing that honour an allowing him to know your plans an dates

Well done. Adam did ok, pretty unremarkable really, but special praise needs to go to the support crew for some absolutely exemplary support crewing. I'm a professional support crew myself, 20 years in the industry, and it's probably the best support crewing I've seen.
