That second pitch to Shohei in the 8th inning was atleast a foot off base to the right. Don't know what that ump was smoking.
Ohtani would have made it.
Buehler needs to learn to live on the corners. 94 down the middle just won’t cut it
Throwing a fastball to your ex teammate who literally crushes fastballs for breakfast was him showing his 2 year absence from the game in a nutshell 🤡🤡🤡
trade buehler, he is washed out. not the same player. trade him while he is cheap...
Classic case of Roberts leaving a pitcher in too long. Would’ve never been in that situation to begin with if he just brings in vesia who was already warm. Perfect lefty on lefty match up
No. He left the pitch middle middle against a great hitter.
It felt like a kick in the stomach. I thought we were at least going to tie it, and win it in the 10th with the momentum going our way
Andy never had a chance. I'm glad millions of people don't watch me at work each day.
Me too! Lol😅
Should be calling up Knack for the start tonight. Dodgers have some dead relievers and others (like Grove) that are not good for multiple innings. It will cost them, when they burn through the bullpen. Buehler and Paxton still hit or miss.
It was a disappointment the way it ended making the third out at home plate
Great play Dave? My high school players make plays like that all the time. Quit covering for him. He is already to big for his britches the way the press is playing him up...now you are babying him? Dino should take him to the woodshed. Make Dino look bad for lack of respect
Oh, this was _not_ a rookie mistake. Andy Pages has shown again and again that he has no clue on the basepads. The coaching staff needs to _TEACH_ him the basics. Unless Pages is truly that empty upstairs...
I don't think Pages made a mistake given the circumstances, as Roberts said... It took a perfect baseball play (the relay throw) to get him at the plate. And what were the chances of the next hitter Biggio (yikes!) or pinch hitter getting a hit at the next at bat? Slim at best.
You know what you do? You have both hands up, and you yell STOP-STOP-STOP! Come on. So what if you had one hand up for Hayward, you stop Pages.
how long has Pages been playing??????????he has to know better!!!!!!!!!!!
Young inexperienced players will make base running mistakes. But Andy needs to remember and learn from his 9th inning booboo and to not repeat that again. Mistakes like that in Sept and Oct will shorten a young player's mlb career. Take note young man!
Andy pages was being selfish there !!!
I'm not mad at Andy....just disappointed. This should be a learning experience for him. Onto the next game. Let's go Dodgers!! 👏🏻👏🏻
Personally, I'm not mad at Andy. He was trying to make a play and help his team. He's a young player and he'll learn how to read plays in the field to know when he can push it and when he needs to hold up. Like Dave said, it took a great throw to get him. Chalk it up as a learning experience and move on.
Yeah nothing like your 3rd base coach literally in your face telling you
To stop.
Nah he was being selfish .
Exactly Dino is too conservative. Running puts the pressure on the other team.
@@evil6.7_its not the world series. Lets him make the mistakes lmao
No I'm not mad at him, but he was wrong to ignore Dino. This is how the team is designed. If Dino is wrong he bears the burden, because it's his job. When you make that decision you're putting the entire game on your shoulders including the work of our pitching staff that worked hard to hold Texas to 3 runs. I love the attitude and the emotion. We will need that in October. But those things need to harmonize with smart ball playing. Especially When you're still green, you need to humble yourself and let your veteran coaches keep you in line. I'm still glad Pages is in the lineup. But, he may need a little bench time if he doesn't learn from this.
Ebel is gonna have to eat that one, he was positioned halfway to home how is a runner supposed to see that when they've made the turn already?
The call was tough because of how it was fielded so, granted, it was a last second decision where Ebel would need to be further on the base path. I think Pages could make that turn, go about 30 feet beyond the bag, and then retreat back to 3rd and be safe when he sees Ebel holding up the stop along the base path.
The Dodgers don't need selfish players
I said it in the previous video, I'll say it again: he's a rookie making rookie mistakes. It's not a big shocker. But look at how he adjusted at the plate after a torrid start and then a cold few weeks after. He's a learner, and he continues to adjust and learn. That's why he's here in the big leagues--to learn. IF he keeps making the exact same mistakes over and over and over again in August or September or (hopefully not) in October, then we can start to worry. There's a reason why we remember the bad things more than the good--it's how we learn not to repeat the mistakes that embarrassed us. I believe in Pages.
Ignoring/missing the sign from 3rd base is pretty bad tho. Rookies or not, players in MLB shouldn't be learning stuff like that they should be familar with this kind of stuff during college and minor leagues....
I despise the day we let Seager go.
