I'm rewatching it again. And bruh Clannad season 1 was so wholesome but After Story was a bit too much for my heart I know exactly how you feel. I didn't need this stress especially now but that just goes to show how amazing this show was. It was like experiencing a life but in another perspective.
SPOILERS AHEAD . . . Some months ago my husband said, that Clannad is that type of anime, that will give you depression for long time. I didn’t take it seriously, so I watched it. By the time I was watching “Clannad: After Story”, I was about 7-8 months pregnant. SO I’M SITTING ALONE IN OUR HOUSE, WATCHING THIS, AND THERES THIS SCENE WHEN NAGISA GIVES BIRTH TO USHIO AND DIES. I WAS STUNNED AND ALL THAT I WAS THINKING, WAS “HOLY SHIT, I’M SCARED NOW, I DON’T WANT TO LEAVE MY LOVED ONE AND MY BABY LIKE THAT, OH GOD” After Ushios death I was even more mentally dead. My husband completly forgot about those episodes in the anime, so he was shocked also and thinking “oh god, what have I done”. But even though the anime was deadly sad, I’m glad I saw it at that point of my life. It made me feel something very big.

It makes me remember those extremely painful scenes... and some of them are in the actual video!!! When I think about that part, I feel all the emotional and physical pain I felt the first time I saw the cursed Episode 16. First time... who am I kidding? I feel the same pain everytime I watch that episode... and I cry... so much...!

Death by childbirth is something that kinda haunts me. I know I want to have kids one day. To first meet someone special who to fall in love with and latter have child with them and I want to experience pregnancy and give birth. I want it and that is one of my lifes biggest dream, but the thought that when or if that day finally comes and my dream comes true the moment after that I would pass away, leaving everyone dear to me and my child behind me to go alone beyond....it kinda scares me

I'm not saying you should sugar coat childbirth because it does have it's risks. If she wants to have kids, don't go telling her she could freaking die.
