So a the danger could be a slow smoldering fire and co2 poisoning from between the walls, but they appear to be fire retardant when covered in plaster. Straw is very flammable from the outside, when the straw can act as a wick.
Hi my name is Sebastian.
I am dedicated in Chile to the commercialization of straw and wood panels.
This video is very demonstrative and I request permission to share it on my page. Of course thanking and mentioning you on my website.
I would appreciate an answer to be able to show my target audience the capabilities of this type of construction.
Kind regards!
Hi Sebastian, you are free to link to the youtube video or embed the original video on your site. If you want to edit it or show only certain sections or to host it off the youtube platform, we will have to talk more...
@@FloweringElbow thank you so much!!
I will only embed the video on my page to remove people's fear of using straw as a construction material.
In general they are afraid of fire here in Chile!
Thanks again!
Let's talk whenever you want, I speak little English but well here we are...
Hugs from a Uruguayan in Chile
i trust your experiment. i did something similar.great job
the finished product is supposed to have no straw exposed! they removed the video of the time comparison with a sealed clay bale vs a masonry brick. the brick did burn and the sealed bale never does.
So Straw Bale + Clay plaster is proven to be very good fire resistance but what about cob wall. I've been searching for videos for all type of straw house or wall fire resistance test but it's so hard to find.
Straw Bale + plaster.
Clay-Slip + Straw.
Straw + Soil + Sand (Cob)
3 type that I heard of but only straw bale wall have been tested for fire resistance but which is better?
Well cob is a masonry product, so setting it on fire would mostly make it harder. The results would be similar to trying to burn hard dirt-it wouldn't.
Could i use a screenshot of this in my paper?
Good evening Bill. Of course, so long as I can get a copy of your paper to read, deal? :)
@@FloweringElbow Thank you! Well it is in indonesian but i'd be happy to send you ^^
Haha. OK ill put Google translate to work. So yeah go ahead. My email is in the about section of my channel. Thanks Bill, look forward to taking a look ;)
