34:23 I hear what your saying on this part. You gotta understand though that society set him up to fail. All those kids are set up to fail. I’ve been working with kids for a while. I’ve seen it all. I don’t condone or excuse behavior of any kind however these children need a supportive cast, they need love, they need parents who give af. Disadvantaged youth didn’t ask to be where they are, circumstances do that to them. Great video btw bro. Love your intake on this topic! Subscribed✌🏾
I live in Chicago and sadly this school is now closed and the kids enrolled here had to find a new school. It's now a private school with tuition around 15k a year.
I love how this girl is getting Jordans straight drip. Meanwhile me getting A’s and B’s but still wearing sneakers in the same stuff I’ve been wearing since last month
Went to a similar school like this with the same discipline but a little worse, staff/security actually got physical. First day I got dragged out of the class by my ankle and pushed against the wall in the security room by a former drill sergeant. It was because I accidentally raised my voice to the teacher. Lucky for them they got to wear what they wanted, we had a STRICT dress code. White button up dress shirt black jeans lvl 1 - 4 Tan jeans lvl 5. Black shoes cannot have any gang related colors and ur hair cut with a size 2. (No long hair, basically military haircut).
Some parts of this made me laugh but ultimately my heart goes out to these kids. They live a sad existence that’s all circumstantial. I’m from the west side of Chicago and I’m grateful my family protected me from the bs surrounding me before we could afford to move.
About that one person in school at 19:20, I had a principle when I was really young in pre-K. I had behavioral problems and got angry and threw tantrums and she was always calm, reasonable, and talked me. She helped me get a lot of my anger under control and i will always remember and love her for being patient with and helping me
why do you care about peoples pre conceived notions of the place you live? you looking for validation? if they're not capable if treating you as an individual rather than judging you on something out of your control tell them to go fuck themselves
I had the same problems as him i got into boxing, and i was on my school wrestling team. Before that, i would get into a lot of fights in school, and i was hotheaded. It calmed me down a lot more because i was always active.
I'm grateful for my naivety that I thought I would get to juvenile detention center because of a small fight if I ever started one. This video humbles me.
Eastside High School in Paterson NJ was at one point the most dangerous school in the country back in the 80's and 90's. I have a relative who USED to be a teacher in a Charter Scholl in Philly (yes charter school) for grades 5-8 the STORIES he would tell me about the kids fighting, catching boys and girls having sex in restrooms and behind the school and constant drug and alcohol usage. He told me 80% of the kids did NOT have a father figure at home and you wonder why OUR black community ain't SH-T!!!
Those teachers do look tired. They have to care to show up. When dude was talking about the family life when need to start addressing it. There needs to be more of an effort to clean up renovate the environment and mindset.
Their to scared to clean up the environment and now it's gotten so out of hand to the point that they don't even wanna associate themselves with these parts of the city 😢
This just reenforces the idea that parents need to get a license to have kids because who would want to have kids in this environment in the first place where they can become like these kids
Not all Chicago schools are bad these kids are just DEEP in the trenches I live in Chicago on the north side so I’ve been blessed with a good school near me
I bet all the teachers got therapy due to the calmness. I would’ve backhanded everyone if they talked to me like that.😅😂😂 and I’m very lucky I was born in Hawai’i.
My secret technique to remaining calm was disassociating. One of the issues was that the kids were so behind that what they really needed were more basic life skills but the directive from on high was to teach them algebra based on their calendar age. They weren't ready and they acted out because they were frustrated because they didn't understand and didn't care
Growing up in Chicago going to a Chicago school, this is not what you do I wasn’t bad but you gotta survive & nobody know how to handle the problems we go thru on a daily basis
This hit very close to home for me, I'll never forgive the kids like these in my middle school for making me subconsciously hostile towards my own race. I'm a 20+ old African American man, and I still find myself tensing up defensivly when i'm around groups of young people of my own race.😔

Dawg fr I’ve been in a mental facility at the age of 15 I’ve met people like this, kids were 12 and younger and everybody there was either tryna fight 24/7 or just really needed help so I see people like this 24/7, it’s none of their faults most of the time they were raised this way or was born in a horrible environment, I don’t feel bad for people but I just hope the best for most of them.

About that one person in school at 19:20, I had a principle when I was really young in pre-K.
So KIDS are getting spicy in the bathrooms form 5th to 8th grade?! Wadafuq

Those teachers do look tired. They have to care to show up. When dude was talking about the family life when need to start addressing it. There needs to be more of an effort to clean up renovate the environment and mindset.
Facts
