It was said at the beginning that Arlo had died 3 years prior. The implication is more or less that he was reanimated by the infestation and used as a lure by performing healing miracles. This spawned a cult that fed people into the infestation, willingly, exactly as the Infested wanted (If you ever run out of armor in Infested Salvage, the infestation starts whispering "join us" to you). The mystery was whether the Infested are capable of that sort of plotting.
So, during this nightwave series, in the early stages, if you were ever downed, the guys with lamps would come up and revive you. Yet when it was revealed that Arlo was indeed infecting everyone they could, the ones in the black suits would come to hunt you. Near the end of the nightwave, there was a boss fight which you can get some infested weapons based on (what I call) the emissary strain. Lore wise, this is absolutely horrifying. Up until then, the infested was seen as mostly benign. With the objective of corruption/consumption. However, with this nightwave and the reveal of the emissary strain, we know that the infested can deceive. But that's not the worst of it. Because with something that has the ability to deceive also has the ability to be bargained with. As we get closer to 1999, we are realizing this, and the VERY dangerous realizations.
Yes during the first part of this Nightwave Arlo's followers would come around and heal you if you got taken down, but as time went on and we found out what Arlo was his followers became these black clad guys that would show up for you to fight. You can still get their black outfit as an operator cosmetic to wear.
The warframe fandom site would have more details information, but the ingame mechanics added during this night wave has new NPC’s friendly and hostile that spawn during missions rewarding you with rep points. As you go further along infested outbreaks occur rewarding you codes to participate in special assasination mission to farm a new weapon and items. With damios open, this boss is open to you to farm at your convenience.
@@ControversyCupcake the liches are literally called "Zeke.onlyne.technocyte" thats both the main dude and the name of the band oh and the fan site and its corrupted form but yeah mhm to each their own. god i did not need to be so agressive wth is wrong with me? Dehydration. time to drink 10% of a water bottle
@@damiennightmaresx7950 I just kinda assumed that since liches and sisters have randomly generated names and outfits that it wouldnt make sense to only have 5 liches when the other two have set a standard. So my theory was that they are f-ed up warframes that had too much of the strain in them. Also I said to each their own to be respectful of your opinion because I hear that theory soooo much. I understand it because of the way they were revealed with the pictures of them and then the liches but it just doesnt seem right to me. You should also drink more than 1/3 of an ounce of water lol
Oh, fun times. I remember how those guys with lamps will pop-up out of nowhere and help you up if enemy kill you. And then, few weeks after, it all goes to hell. That nightwave was one of horrors (not as much as Chains of Harrow, but still). And the boss fight... Man, it was hard. Right now you have all your weapons, that one-shots archons, but back then... My first fight was at least 15 minutes. Now you can do it in less than 5.
Scaling up to be stronger than everything else is fun and all, but I wonder if they will ever introduce something that has a higher failure rate when fighting it.

OHHHHHHH This makes more sense. Must have missed that bit
The strain from 1999 surely can lol

1999 introducing infested liches will make this story so much more I guess... Real considering this time it's a boy band instead of a magical fix all
I personally dont think it’s the boyband but to each their own

Lephantis? Or the other ugly guy that gives you that infected glaive?

Man I wish we could get more nightwave stories like these again 😞
I still dont know why did they stop, It was doing good tho. Seasonal story telling, rich lore, interest event mission. Man i want them to bring back.
I felt so bad for Arlo. He died soon after being infected, only for his body to be "resurrected" as a vessel for the infestation
