Streets of Philadelphia | What The Hell Happened?

- Here are some of the most dangerous Streets of Philadelphia. The Kensington area in particular has been severely affected by some of the most violent crimes, homelessness, and drug problems in America. Unfortunately it only seems to be getting worse. As local officials have tried to zone in on this area and tackle the issues, one can only hope a recovery is within sight.
I have spent a lot of time in this area and I can say that there are many people out there trying to make an effort and help the unfortunate. Random acts of kindness, people trying to help each other any way they can by giving clothes, food, shelter, give me hope that one day this will get better.

Almost as bad as most major cities in California. We truly are a country in decline.
Are the zombies allowed to ride the buses?
For an European it‘s difficult to understand this American way of life.
Homeless is every where not just Philadelphia
Little towns, rural areas, mid size cities. Yup. Everywhere.
But Kensington is the worst
Yeh for sure ...but not like this!!.
Homeless don’t look like THIS everywhere.
I feel so bad for the children raised in this environment. This is what they know. This is normal to them. Hopefully they see this is no way of life and find a better path. I have been watching these neighborhood tours for several years... Portland, LA, Philly... none of them are getting better. From a PA native, thank you for posting.
Truth.
It’s simple! “Supply Side Economics” The Rich get Richer & the poor get poorer! And it’s to late now!
When all the money goes to real estate investors. Puts poor people on the streets
Dammmm there's litter and garbage everywhere 😢
All the jobs went to Asia and India?
City officials should be ashamed!
Nice to see how America (the richest country in the world) looks after its own....
Sharing thoughts on that. Spot on.
Usa is the richest nation in the world or the highest standard of living
The only real answer to this type of thing is to built a society based on the good of all it's members. A guaranteed basic income would be a good start and would solve a lot of problems.
The end results of greed!
America is just a poor country in a Gucci belt.
Homelessness and drugs is such a sad way of life -I hope these people get the help they need ❤
🙏🏾
That really unbelievable the poverty, homelessness and drug problems in Philadelphia. And look at the garbage. It's everywhere ...
Thanks god i live in Europe, we have a lot of problems too but this is the hell on earth!
Willison makes a good point: poverty doesn't discriminate, it can hit anyone, anywhere, regardless of race, class or background. I was in Chicago around 2019, I went into areas such as China town. When I went through certain tunnels and areas, there were tents lined up with the homeless as well.
Killadelphia has been in the toilet for the last 30 years. Sad really
I don’t remember seeing anything like this when I was there 12 years ago. I literally walked all over the town, I was there for a week, in the middle of downtown.
It's just so sad to see people living in tents on the street
Great great video as always. I agree with you, what the hell happened? I live near Allentown Pennsylvania and I hope it never gets this bad, but unfortunately I can see it in the near future.
It won’t ever be that bad bro I be in Allentown and it’s not even close to this ….it’s way safer city sorry until go to real hoods you will feel thankful
Many know what happened but sadly the others wouldn't listen...none of this is surprising.
This is the 18th video I watched from this place. It seems like 85 % of stores are closed in that area! I thought people were filming at night and weird hours; but the store all ways looks the same.
Wow ..Seeing is believing. If somebody tried to tell me this, I wouldn’t believe it.
It’s really depressing even to watch, but for so many people it’s their every day existence 😰
Does anyone among the city and state authorities care ??
Even before that...
Each person on the street is someone's child. Where the heck is their family? A good family wouldn't allow their members to suffer like this.
It's all about money.
Great video! Tragic the way the city became so decrepit and derelict. Heartbreaking that anyone has to live on the streets.
Thanks so much for watching I really do appreciate it.
All you have to do is get educated and stay off drugs. Plenty of $70,000.00 jobs here in my State. Electric Boat, Sikorsky, Pratt and Whitney. Hundreds of jobs going unfilled, ranging from 70K to $120K
It's not a single city problem. It's a system problem.
Very sad. My wife's aunt used to live in this area. Good thing she's no longer alive to see that it got even worse than it was 8-10 years ago. Apparently, it was a wonderful place in the 1940s and 1950s. When will city officials find the will to remedy this?
hell, if you think it looked nice back in the 1940's, try looking up some really OLD pictures of where the Church Station now sits, when the area first began building that long elevated train bridge way back in the late 1860's/early-mid 1870's
I feel bad for the children, business owners and clean residents. This is so sad and heartbreaking. Where is the government? What are they doing? Do they have an outreach program? It’s a massive problem. Mental health is a huge factor. Drugs are just a symptom. I’m praying for all those that are lost, suffering, lonely, battling addiction, alone and in need of help 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✨
What the hell are authorities doing about this mess. Nothing obviously. Tragedy
I've discovered your channel today ... awesome work !! 😍 despite the sad content ... much love from Germany ❣️
Thank you so much for watching!
Hopeless, business are all closed.
Looks like the Eagles home field after a loss
I used to stay on B and Indiana. Thank God I don't anymore lol. A sick piece of me misses the chaos, but I wouldn't come back if someone paid me. I got stories for days from that hell hole..
B and Indiana used to be decent back in the 70's and 80's.......
So what is your solution ?
Both of my parents were born and raised in Kensington; we kids were raised in Franford, but often visited our cousins in Kensington. I don't know any other reason for why I watch these videos because they make me feel depressed.
This is not just Phili. This is America now. I travel for work. I see this everywhere. This is part of the reason I left the country.
leave the big cities...
Skid row in LA is 50sq blocks.
Yea this way worse because it’s. More compacted and way more crime
The mayor needs to take those signs off the streets and maps that say PARK. Who in their right minds gonna take their kid there for a walk or to play!
Love your channel. I’m watching from the U.K. so find it very interesting thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for watching!
How can a business survive there ....how can anybody actually live there?
It appears the walgreens left. Dont know how it stayed in business that long
Until the city actually can pour real money into renovating the area, it probably won't get better. Took my small city decades before they cleaned it up. The tranq zombies are the saddest...that stuff is like krocodil, consumes you from the inside out 😢
They probably CAN pour money. But they won't.
How about if the city instituted a program that pays these people that are littering the streets with trash minimum wage to clean the streets daily.
new zombie game with engine 5
Heartbreaking. I just don't know how we can fix this ?
Smaller government?
I live in Hawaii and find this shocking.
It looks like Skid Row
Your camera work is some of the best on youtube! This channel is so underrated thanks for what you do.
Wow, thank you!
Certainly. No electronic noise, no graphics, no sponsor ads, no narration. Just the moving pictures providing the story.
?what did happen exactly? did the Industrial Revolution end and the city had no plan b? how far back does it go?
Why should business there have to pay any tax to the city and state?
Thanks! It's sad to see a city so war-torn from drugs. Kensington is the worst! Great sadness shown through your lens.
Thanks so much Linda! To answer your question from another post, if its not on here then it went to the other folder which takes me forever to open because you have to reload about 50 pages to get to it. I'd like to get more into that, without using the terminology if you know what I mean because I literally have to read every last comment before approving it.
@@hoodsnhollers Oh, I totally understand!
PARTY Party party: WEN DO THEY GROW UP?
Wow what a stunning and brave looking city
Just another sign of the End Times.
Anyone else have that Bruce tune from the 90’s playing in their heads while watching this? Seems like I recognize some of the streets from the music video too come to think of it.
For sure! And it’s not a happy tune.
I'm totally speechless.... Chatsworth Georgia
thanks for watching!
I kid you not... watching this video made me nauseous. 🤢
I totally feel for this city and these people.
If I had a gazillion dollars I would help so many cities. 💞
This is America.
Very sad. And going on in so many of our cities. ;(
Same in europe 😢
america the beautiful, end of an empire is what i see
It looks like chicago
I don’t think I’d park my nice car out there!
It's kinda like the bad futur shown in "back to the futur II", when biff is the big boss. But there it's true. Heartbreaking to see America like that
About 12 years I visited downtown Philadelphia, stayed in a hotel for a week. I walked all over that town, everywhere, I never saw anything like this.
Cause you were prob In center city and this is north Philly... No one intends to go to north Philly
@@ryancampbell1847
Except
Hoods N Hollers. 🤣🤣
🙏🙏🌎🙏🙏😔🙏🙏🇺🇲🙏🙏
This is surreal 😢! The US - 21 st century
the american dream
I think Kensington and Skid Row are the worst I've seen so far.
How often does the city clean the streets, or do they?
This reminds me of 42 st. in Manhattan
As always awesome content thanks for your time to do this video big fan of your channel
KENSINGTON AREA SKID ROW! 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Skid row isn’t as bad as Kensington believe me
@@talkingmoney4499
I agree
@Talking Money OK. You you agree that there is Skid Row and then there is Kensington?
East Cleveland looks better
When I was growing up in Philly, Kensington was called "Fish Town".
Interesting. When i go through there sometimes I see graffiti saying that
Great video and sadly lots of homeless people 😔
Bruce Springsteen song
Hell on earth, and we r still falling from grace
This is the result of society calling for pity instead of shame.
We deserve what we tolerate!
I feel bad for the businesses too. People that put their life savings, their hopes and dreams into their business.. and the city gradually becomes this.
How many of those shops and restaurants are now permanently closed?
I believe that God can save these people and this place from this crisis!!! Let’s pray for them… is the most powerful thing that we can do!
As a middle european. We have many similar problems too but this is shocked me. It is far away from us...
Ai happened
Pobre gente.
I guess "tourism" is dead in this country. I'm pretty sure tourism brought revenue to major cities at one time. Maybe this is more lucrative to these areas? I don't know. Just wondering. 🤔🤷🏼
So sad
This reminds me of the other side of the smiles and happy people in the video clip to the Bruce Springsteen song, “Streets of Philadelphia”.
America the Beautiful inside the belly of the City she ain't.....
Watching from Liverpool, England 🏴
What's happening there? I'm south american and I'm speechless seeing this
4:39 With the first word obscured irony comes crashing into the picture.
I just went from watching videos of how the Amish live to this. What a complete dump.
Impossible to understand human beings doing this to others, and none helping.
Bet even Lima , Perù or Caracas in Venezuela looks more a prime world than this
Why isn't the governor doing anything he see what's going on there where is he located😮😮😮😮
at least they don't bite yet
New subscriber! Love your channel. I love how you don’t talk through your video! Great camera work, also. Such a sad place. It’s good to see someone brining all the issues to light.
Thank you so much for watching!
Update daily wash these streets
Like Wow Man! Everybody on the streets seemed to be getting along just fine with each other....it's good seeing thriving communities. Cool 😎 👍
The city of brotherly love totally trashed😢😢😢
Oh boy! Till when?...🤔🤔🤔🙄🙄😬😬😬
This is the worst I've ever seen. So sad and tragic.
wait until it hits summer time lol there will be so many outside
This is slightly worse than S.F.
Europe homeless look 100% better
sad
