    My pops and I pulled a 32 3 window from out of an old lean-to shed in Mississippi back in 99-2000. She still had the window garnish moldings in good shape. Since then we have slowly been collecting each original Henry Ford piece for the card and finally located a titled original 32 coupe chassis. I remember the day we pulled that car on the trailer like it was yesterday. This video brought back some memories. Unfortunately ours did not come with all the awesome extras.

      The flathead block was cracked. He's putting a 392 hemi in it instead.

    That's amazing, I also have a 32 3W coupe from Mukilteo that was raced at Arlington, Wa. Drag Strip as an Altered in the early 70s by two guys Fred Streiby and Bob LaLone. It was an uncut coupe channeled over a later frame running a chev 327 with 6 carbs, solid mounted 57 Olds rear, unknown trans. When I got the car ($500.00) in 1984 it was gutted, just the body shell, both doors, and grill shell/insert. No firewall, deck lid, fenders, garnish moldings, windshield frame, floor, top insert, hood, or dash. They had cut an oblong hole in the bottom front driver door to hang the steering drag link. From that point I built a full fender street rod painted white over turquoise and have been kicking around the country in it since 1988. Have since stripped the car down and now replacing the rockers and installing new steel floors. Hope to have it back on the road in 2014. Sure would like an update on your deuce.

    Wished you'd left it original to the period.Stinkin hemi in it huh? Well there went a piece of history.

    • @twood008
      @twood008  9 років тому +4

      The car has no real history. The car is covered in primer not old paint. It will be a true 60' correct hot rod. Overheads were the hot motors in the 60's. Why do you think a lot of dragsters were running blown and injected Hemi. 392 Hemi, true pin drive knockoff halibrands with big rags on the back, along with a wicked chop. If that doesn't say hot rod I don't know what does. I agree I like Post-war Hot rods as well but nothing on this car is being ruined.

    Looks like you found the holy grail. Did you finish the car or move it on as was ?? Would be great to see it put back together in the style of the period.

    its not a hemi..its a flathead with aluminum edelbrock heads

    • @twood008
      @twood008  9 років тому

      +William Garrett No one said the car has hemi in the video. He is in the process of putting a 392 hemi in the car. The flathead block ended up being cracked anyways so this car will be a good candidate for a Hemi he had laying around the shop.

      +William Garrett Those are "Evans" heads, not Edelbrock.

    well you've posted this 4 years ago, anymore posts on this project? as far as the tires, it appears they have been "cut" or "scored" for traction on the racing pavement or dirt. you can cut tires a certain way to make better traction at different tracks according to the banking. these appear to have been cut at a 90 deg. angle from the original groove, making me think this tire was used at the drag strip.

    • @twood008
      @twood008  8 років тому +2

      +belknapdlg26 No updates on this project. My father-in-law has been really busy with work so the coupe has been on the back-burner for now. Not sure on the tire sipping either. If I had to guess I would assume it was traction for drag racing.

    Sorry to say it But that car will never be As Cool As it is right Now.....I like chopped tops, And I like Hemi's, But this is a prime example of what real working class people Had for hot rods back in the day. Judging by your Voice...You are not a Kid, If I was to guess I would probably Say you are retired or close to it. Which is most likely the reason you own this car, As You Are in a time of your life where You can afford to pay the crazy $25-35K that a project like this sells for. And I am happy for you to be able to have something like this, But the real truth is This is a Kids Car! Age 17-25 thats who would have had this car, And they are also the ones who had the most fun with them. I am sorry if it offends anyone But white headed Old guys do not look correct in a car like this. Goodluck with it and I hope you Do it justice, For me there is very little I would change on it.....But it is Yours to do with as you please....Have fun...

      +13clicks ! I disagree. kids now who have something like this bought for them would destroy it. a kid that age who bought and fixed it would have allot of fun and drive it like it's supposed to be driven

    "it is full of rust, so the motor is probably junk", it is a flat head, so it was junk even when it ran !!!
