This is an apology. THIS is maturity. And as someone who isn’t a Miranda fan, I can honestly say I have SO MUCH respect for Colleen. This is gutsy and we need more of it in the world. Also, 14 years guys? Really? I was an IDIOT 14 years ago. The important thing is learning from mistakes and growing, she has clearly done that.
People also don’t understand that 14 years ago the world/social climate was completely different than it is now. That doesn’t completely justify any type of behavior, but it is just something that should be considered
Moral of the story: build limits and boundaries, trust less, and don’t be so public. Colleen is not herself anymore, she has a son and a family to protect. And real fans have to be ok with it.
And as an adult, stop interacting privately with anyone under 18. She wants to talk to her fans, that’s great! Do it on a public app or in the comments. No private comms.
I have never seen someone take so much responsibility for their actions. She isn’t playing the victim. She is a grown adult and acting like it. It’s disappointing that people have to apologize for things from over a decade ago. People change. If you watch Colleen at all you would see the generous and caring person she is. Creators talk about loving their fans but Colleen genuinely cares deeply for each person. I hope this all blows over quickly. I appreciate you addressing this with this attitude. I can’t imagine being in your shoes with all eyes looking for mistakes and then exploiting them. We all make mistakes.
only other person is James Charles, but I agree, and I think that she addressed it very well and with responsibility. You are such a role model to everyone!
I would actually argue that it is necessary and a sign of growth that people apologize and recognize mistakes from their past no matter how long ago. This country was built on systemic racism and that has been perpetuated throughout the years. I think there is a spectrum what Colleen said is on a different level then say that politician that wore blackface on a yearbook photo. What I think is needed is to educated and help people grow and understand, instead of canceling people completely which is completely unproductive. I think Colleen is definitely admitting to her own ignorance and taking ownership and I think some of the feedback she is getting (not the death threats and bullying ones) is actually constructive and I feel will help her grown in the long term.
this is probably the best apology video i’ve ever watched. she didn’t blame anything on anyone but herself and admitted to doing wrong. and didn’t stutter ONCE
I love how she’s not only apologising for things that people are noticing but she’s apologising for all the hurtful things that she’s done that no one remembers. True queen
Kay Bee exactly! people argue with others about their wrong decisions and ask for change, but when they show that they’ve grown, people get mad and say that they’re “lying” Now i understand this with a lot of people on youtube nowadays where things keep happening and no accountability is taken on their part, but Colleen has never had this happened and she went about this explanation so amazingly and somehow it’s still not enough.
This is one of the only “apology” videos I watched all the way through. You have matured and changed so much, and your fans are proud of the Colleen you are right now. Admitting when ur wrong is really hard, but you did it and you’ve changed. Hope life starts getting better for ya💖
this is one of the best apologies i’ve seen on the internet. she immediately says it’s her fault and explains how she’s changed. it’s a proper camera set up. no crying, no sugar coating topics, no cries for sympathy, she has a sincere tone. it feels like any other youtube video except she’s apologising. this is how it’s done
No but didn’t she say she feels disgusted and ashamed for talking about a women’s body here but yet screen shots of her texting in some group chat and making fun of trisha’s n*des not even that long ago
This is hands down the best apology video I’ve ever watched. She went straight to the point, didn’t cry or ask for sympathy. She addressed her mistakes as a grown woman should. This is why Colleen has been my favorite UA-camr since 2014!
if we aren’t canceling shane and jeffree for their past and then addressing that then we aren’t canceling colleen, you can’t pick and choose who you want to cancel. colleen has addressed and apologised for her actions.
I think cancelling is kind of a personal thing rather than a whole group. People will support who they want and they will also not support those who they don’t want to. Many people I know don’t care for Jeffree or Shane but they still have a large fan base. I think if you just don’t agree with any of these people’s actions, you can choose to not support. Can’t really control a large number of people to cancel someone. But I agre with your last statement. I think Colleen has addressed this and apologized in a very mature and understanding way that some others haven’t. It’s quite sincere rather than a blanket apology.
I’ve come across a quote recently that stroke a chord with me. It states, “I’d rather be a hypocrite than be the same person forever”. Bravo for understanding mistakes, taking responsibility for them and working to change oneself. What a well made video Colleen. I wish you the best.
I just wanna point out that 14 years ago, most of this fandom was either very young or not even alive. In the past 14 years we have all changed as people DRAMATICALLY. In the same way, Colleen is a very different person now and mistakes she made in the past do not reflect the person she is today. Please stop trying to cancel people because of things they did in the past when they have already grown from them
lol she wasn't even apologizing in her latest video. if I had to apologize for something I already apologized for, I'd probably start shredding the ukulele too and double down on telling people to fuck off. it is what it is 🤷♂️

You’re right. But unfortunately when you’re an adult and you make a mistake you also have to own up to the fact that in life there are no redos, once you have put something out there, one person could never forgive you and you have to be ready for that. It’s completely ok for someone to no longer follow someone bc of something they found out. It sucks, i’d want people to forgive everything I have done and some people will and some people won’t and that’s just how it is.
I respect colleen so much, not only is she admitting her wrongs she isn't saying "he said this-" or "she said this-" she is saying "I said this-" and that takes guts 👏

Adressing things like this is not easy , AT ALL , so the fact that she did it provers her authenticity . There are people out there who will NEVER own up to their mistakes and in fact blame it on fans .smh
If a mistake is all it takes to "cancel" someone then we *ALL* need to be cancelled. No one goes through life without making mistakes, none of us are *that* perfect.
I personally don't think there's anything wrong with asking influencers and celebrities to adress their controversial past. BUT I don't believe in "canceling" someone, especially before getting there side of it.
And to go to the extent to wish her dead! It's horrifying these people are so deluded they think that bringing up things she's done wrong justifies saying something that horrendous.
THIS is how you apologize. You own up to your mistakes and learn from them. Not act innocent and say you didn’t know the weight of your own words. Everyone makes mistakes, it’s how you handle what you do after them that makes a person
This is the first apology video that I watch without skipping. It’s not cringy, it’s not boring, it’s a great apology video, of some sort. And she knows what she’s talking about, she’s not bs-ing, she owns up to her mistake. I don’t even watch Colleen that often but I love her for this.

ARTPOP MONSTER there’s nothing wrong with crying. they didn’t say there was. it’s just that most UA-camr’s apology videos are about them playing the victim and shit. like, they record the video with smeared makeup, crying and messy hair just to make people know that they are “going through a rough time.” which is what excuse most youtuber’s use.
not only is it ab the same thing but that wasn't even an apology video 😭 if you actually listen to the video it's literally just telling people to stfu and mind their own business. if apologizing once wasn't enough to lay the problem to rest, then it's not like twice or even 3x would solve or do anything. @@Its_akemiyeah I don’t know how people don’t see past this apology. It’s the same as the other one. agree she uses her Viewers as Therapy and its not good. She needs a real therapist and not use the viewers through her vlogs
And as an adult, stop interacting privately with anyone under 18. She wants to talk to her fans, that’s great! Do it on a public app or in the comments. No private comms.

This should be a pinned comment.
Not trust less
Be wise about it

I think Colleen is definitely admitting to her own ignorance and taking ownership and I think some of the feedback she is getting (not the death threats and bullying ones) is actually constructive and I feel will help her grown in the long term.

if we aren’t canceling shane and jeffree for their past and then addressing that then we aren’t canceling colleen, you can’t pick and choose who you want to cancel. colleen has addressed and apologised for her actions.
Haven't Shane, Jeffree etc. been "cancelled" multiple times lol
Period
I think cancelling is kind of a personal thing rather than a whole group. People will support who they want and they will also not support those who they don’t want to. Many people I know don’t care for Jeffree or Shane but they still have a large fan base. I think if you just don’t agree with any of these people’s actions, you can choose to not support. Can’t really control a large number of people to cancel someone.
But I agre with your last statement. I think Colleen has addressed this and apologized in a very mature and understanding way that some others haven’t. It’s quite sincere rather than a blanket apology.

E Po Why? They are both great content creators, respectful of everybody, and lovely people. The whole ballinger family is awesome.
@@s.a.4251 and safiya nygard(sorry if i spelled it wrong)
i was kinda nervous for her after watching his video, but she addressed this so much better than I thought she would. well done colleen!
@@natalie53122 you're really trying to compare this to the holocaust? quite a reach bro
@@natalie53122 What are you even saying? Tf?
First 5 minutes and I don't like her.
I can tell she’s sorry. I feel so bad for her no one should have to go through this and everything else going on the world. She knows that she made mistakes and apologized and everyone should accept that it was probably hard for her to do this. I’m still going to watch her because she’s funny and entertaining!
👍🏼🤍
Same
I agree
notice how she isn't playing the victim? this is genuine
what stop being rude she was a teenager okay she is a mom now she is mature
Roger Smith it was a decade ago she wouldn’t of remembered bruv
Roger Smith well yeah she wouldn’t just randomly bring all of this up that happened 14 years ago
Coughs jeffree:
never doing this again
2020: doing it yet again
Lol watch the minors video
james, nikita, shane, jeffree, etc. take notes.
LITERALLY THOUGH THANK YOU.
all of them did their apologies exactly like this. yall just like to pick and choose.
@@lasibel well with Colleen it feels more genuine. Jeffree is an actual bad person, and Shane is too.
@@noahlol14spinach95 no you’re a hypocrite. all their apologies said the exact same things, but for some reason you think hers is more genuine? you’re a hypocrite. they all made mistakes and stopped making those mistakes but you think colleen’s mistakes are more acceptable than theirs. you’re weird.
@@lasibel wow okay how do I even begin answering this.. uhm for starters if you think Jeffree’s apology was sincere? Go watch Inabber’s video, same for Shane. Also, how am I weird? What does that have to do with it
Let's appreciate that she didn't put ads in this video
I got one lmao (couldve been yt tho)
And she didn't link her social media!
ye but could've been a lot of money doe
She shouldn’t
Why would that have mattered?
Honestly the whole video I just kept thinking about how her channel used to be called “PsychoSoprano” and the fandom connected with her and explained how it wasn’t exactly appropriate and she immediately changed it and explained to viewers why. Colleen has always been willing to listen to constructive feedback and make changes. She just wants people to be happy.
@@natalie53122 you are commenting weird stuff
She is so mature and handled this in the right way. Instead of just begging people to forgive her, she admitted that she was wrong and apologized in the right way.
Btw I actually learnt from you Colleen, I am happy you made this video because I learnt something :)
aged like milk
Nah, you’re just a sheep
