  • Stonehenge is one of the world’s greatest wonders, and the centrepiece of the British Museum’s newest blockbuster exhibition, ‘The world of Stonehenge’.
What’s the story behind this exhibition? What are the most exciting ideas it shows us? And how did recent events change what went on display?
In this live and interactive talk with Neil Wilkin (Lead Curator) and Susan Greaney (Senior Properties Historian at English Heritage and affectionately known as ‘the Stonehenge spokesperson’), we explore the ground-breaking discoveries that are starting to change our view of Stonehenge, its place in the world, and how we tell that story today.
Featuring 430 artefacts, exhibition highlights include the Nebra Sky Disc - Europe’s oldest surviving map of the stars, stone carvings from the Italian Alps, golden sun pendants from Ireland, and an extraordinary array of wooden objects that have survived for over 4,000 years.
Together, they reveal that far from existing in a shadowy age of mystery, the people who created Stonehenge lived in a highly-connected world filled with big ideas and a vivid sense of life.
