Hey Russ, my wife and I were born and raised 100 miles south of Palo Duro Canyon. We now make our home in Russellville, Arkansas, we have been here for 40 years. Have been to Palo Duro Canyon several time. It's a beautiful place.
Good Mornin' Russ and Happy Fathers Day too. Another beautiful place you have taken us too. All the green grass and trees look so good to me right now. The Bush Fire here in Arizona has changed our landscape for years to come. Stay cool. See You Soon!
Came across some of your videos when you were filming in Montana back in 2015, I like how your videos are done today vs those 5 years ago, your music is better now as well. Keep up the great work
Thanks for taking me along for the ride Russ! 😎 Happy Fathers Day! All men are a Father to someone or something, whether it be human, animal or just a thing. Have a GREAT DAY RUSS! 😊
You do an excellent job with your videos. They are so colorful and promote a sense of the viewer riding with you. So far, they are well-done! Thank you for all your interesting places, wonderful landscape , and your sense of humor!!!!!!!!
We went through Amarillo twice 3 years ago in our camper van to visit our oldest kid and his wife in North Carolina. My 18 year old daughter saw the sign for the National Quarter Horse museum and remarked ; " How cute ! They made a museum for all those ride on horses they used to have in front of stores . I wonder if they included the other rides as well ? " . When I explained to her what a Quarter Horse was we had a good laugh and no she's not blonde .
Never have I ever seen any of this. Thx for sharing this 2nd most magnificent natural largest USA canyon with us. One more thing to add to the bucket list. That last drone flight reminds me of a few movies where smoke signals would telegraph around the cliffs announcing ones travels along the canyon floor. I really understand now just how that would feel and look. No place to hide for long. Again, thx for sacrificing yourself in the blast furnace to capture these images for us. Your the Man!
Another great day of new sights. Usually we are busting through the Amarillo area gas and go. Your vlogs are going to slow us down to stop and check things out. Thanks for the shotgun ride we don't take advantage of. OK is OK can't wait!
Russ, the time that I camped in their campground, there were 5 to 6 wild turkeys that would stroll through our camp. I still have a beautiful turkey feather I wear in my cowgirl hat! Enjoy yourself in OK. I think you mentioned you have a daughter that lives there. Enjoy your stay! ❤️❤️❤️
You're in part of our stomping gounds when we go fm CA back home to TX. Have logged many miles on I40 & 27 between Amarillo & Lubbock. We love Palo Duro altho never camp there since we stay with family. If you ever come again, the wildflower season is the best. It's so beautiful. (Hope you're wearing a mask; Amarillo area is a covid hot spot).
Good Morning Russ Another great video. Something else for my bucket list. I also just figured out the thump when you start driving........Auto Lock duh
Thanks for reminding me how beautiful Palo Duro Canyon is......haven't been there since parents lived in Lubbock (circa 1955)…..time to visit again in winter.
Back in the 60s, there was a chair lift just past the horse stable. There may be a few remnants of it visible. Also, motorcycles were allowed offroad until the early 70s. My brother and I attempted to ride to the lighthouse double up on a 80cc Yamaha street bike! We didn't make it. Thankfully, you can't ride dirt bikes there anymore.
Wonderful tour and spectacular drone shots! I showed this to my husband who used to regularly picnic at Palo Duro Canyon as a child with his family. He shared with me how back then the creeks used to flow over the roads and had to be driven through to cross. He remembers his dad driving through water deep enough to flow into their car after one particular downpour, which understandably made quite an impression on him! He was interested to see in your video all the site improvements and lovely visitor center. Maybe if we make it down to that part of Texas we will go there, but if not, at least I finally got to see the park I have heard so much about. Thank you so much!
Palo Duro Canyon,, what canyon and suddenly there it is! Another great, smooth video really like the music too! I wonder if my 35' MH would fit in there?
Palo Duro has been widely touted as Texas's best kept secret" because everybody should go but nobody knows about it outside of Texas. Love going out there!
Gooodmoring Mr russ very cool as usual👍,been all around that place never been there been to Lubbock, Plainview, Amarillo, Childress, Shamrock, wellington but never there😕be safe till next time"yea"😎🌴🇺🇸
Russ, you get any Souvenirs? Did you sign the registry book? For me its the wrong time of the year to camp there..Too HOT...... Thanks for the ride..Havent seen this place in many many years...Dad and I came here to camp..NEVER in the fall or summer...Only in the spring..We rented horses for 3 days..WOW, so so much to see..Good stuff...Man o man.....Today I would pay NOT to get on a horse....Thanks.................JB.......................
Recently visited this park and it's amazing! The scenic drive in the park great and loved the light house trail. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
It is beautiful, the Canyon just seems to come up from nowhere. It is a beautiful place to take pictures and see all kinds of sites. Also caprock canyon was awesome mainly because they had so many buffalo there that was the highlight for me in Amarillo. The museum is huge and has so much in it , it’s a shame you missed it.
I've lived in San Antonio, Texas all my life and never knew we had a canyon anywhere in Texas. WOW, guess it is true - you learn something new every day. 😮. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. 😁
My little Shorkie is scared of the fireworks! She loves to travel, so I have been showing her your videos and guess what??? She calms down and watches your videos!!! You have a nice calm voice and great "ride shotgun" videos so this is why I chose your work!!! Thanks for your awesome work and for soothing my little Lolipop!!!
Wow now that's cool Russ. I wanted to ask you, how is the insulation working out in the van with all of this heat? Thanks for the trip your taking us on with you, it is so great to see you on the road again. Safe travels my friend!!!!
There's a highway straight south of Claude TX, I believe it is highway 207 that takes you right through the middle of the palo duro canyon and goes on down to Mackenzie Reservoir. Even a better view than the state park. Definitely a hidden gem.
Thank you !! But the canyon in Texas is miles...a lot of history there was a famous rancher family helped save the buffalo. His wife...Mr and Mrs Goodnight....Famous Goodnight trail....LOTS OF HISTORY....
Nice video.Good job. Excellent drone footage. Love the van. Wish we could've seen the inside. I'm making my first trip on 9/15/2020. Thanks for scouting for us!
When I was there in 1999 it must have rained a lot the nigh t before. The creek or river was all over the roads. Lots of washouts and I found coyote and mountain lion tracks. I read there this canyon was the last battle the Comanche had with the U.S. calvary.
Hellooo Russ, Nice video of the Palo Duro Canyon in Texas, wish you could have drove through the RV park, but maybe they charge to enter. I want to ask a question on your van, what are the fins mounted on the back and what are there purpose? Thanks again for the videos, stay safe in your travels!👍😎
So fun to see you in my neck of the woods! You keep mentioning how windy is it...Amarillo is the windiest city in the US, but you get used to it. We have very clean air and it is hot, the wind is super nice.
Hey Russ! We love Pali Duro Canyon and anytime we’re in Amarillo to see relatives we usually go. The show and food is great. Dan - Oklahoma’s Tumbleweeds

Wow that is one massive, massive canyon. That area begs archeological digs. Really interesting.
Texas is a great state to travel in. I spent three years there in the mid 70s. Thanks Russ. Thumbs Up!!
This canyon is what prompted us to get a van. We were driving by and stopped for the day and we wished we could spend a couple of nights.
Good Mornin' Russ and Happy Fathers Day too. Another beautiful place you have taken us too. All the green grass and trees look so good to me right now. The Bush Fire here in Arizona has changed our landscape for years to come. Stay cool. See You Soon!

I'm impressed with how fast you came down the mountain. I was there today and I crawled down at a snails pace. The views were wonderful 😀.

Good morning Russ
I love your videos. Thanks for doing all the work it takes to post them to youtube.
Nice place. Maybe some fall/winter I can make it there!
You didn't show the Amphitheater in Palo Duro Canyon. That is almost as impressive as Red Rocks is in Denver.
Wow now that's cool Russ.
I wanted to ask you, how is the insulation working out in the van with all of this heat?

No grifitti , looks good.
Nice, thanks! Brings back memories. I hiked in that canyon five years ago
We went to Palo Duro Canyon a couple of years ago & it was awesome. It's the 2nd largest canyon in the USA. Kind of a smaller version of Grand Canyon.
Nice video.Good job. Excellent drone footage. Love the van. Wish we could've seen the inside. I'm making my first trip on 9/15/2020. Thanks for scouting for us!

It gets pretty hot on the floor of that canyon. The time I went in July 2011 it was 114 degrees.
A couple of videos ago he mentioned them, saying they reduced crosswind buffeting, I believe.

Thanks for the video. We're heading that way this weekend :)
Well done photography. Beautiful and inspiring !
We noticed some triangle looking attachments on the back sides of the van. Can tells us their purpose?
Thx
Lou & Angie
So fun to see you in my neck of the woods! You keep mentioning how windy is it...Amarillo is the windiest city in the US, but you get used to it. We have very clean air and it is hot, the wind is super nice.
Just got back and it was seriously amazing. Planning on returning in the near future to do some more hiking. 👍

Looks like a good place to ride my motorcycle this summer.
That was beautiful nice seeing the canyon area wish I would have visit there when I was in Texas. Did see the Cadillac Ranch though.
A great trip so far! Love the museum stops.
Beautiful visuals. Thank you!
Looks like the best months to visit due to heat would be March, April, May and September and October.
That should be a nice park you’re headed for. RV Texas y’all showed Showed that park on there channel. it is nice.. be safe in Texas👍☕️🍀
No atvs allowed just camping and hiking. Russ go north out of Amarillo and it is all different. Not flat like south.
Great drone footage👍
Very pretty canyon. I am enjoying riding shot gun ( from my home) with you. Happy Trails/Be Safe
Beautiful. Reminds me of Utah. On a hot day I love the great outdoors from a air conditioned room ? 👍 Enjoy your family time and Happy Fathers day. 💜
I can't imagine rounding up cattle on horse back in the 1850s in that heat, those cowboys sure we're tough and needed a job.
Hey Russ! We love Pali Duro Canyon and anytime we’re in Amarillo to see relatives we usually go. The show and food is great. Dan - Oklahoma’s Tumbleweeds
The wind does not scream through Amarillo every day.
goodmorning

Love your channel. Thanks for the great videos.
