I have been driving a Mercedes C-class coupe 250 AWD since 2020 and I have not experienced any malfunctioning what so ever during this period. I am very satisfied with the car.
Excellent review. Thank you.
Every year consumer report says the Porsche Boxster is a highly rated car and Best Buy. Yet from 1996 to 2009 they suffered catastrophic engine failure at any point during ownership and Porsche rarely did anything to help. Basically what I’m saying, I don’t really trust consumer reports.
you are not alone
I always appreciate your no fluff style of videography, and this one is no exception. Thank you. I really wish VW would get its act together-I will probably always want to buy another, but the one I had just was terrible in terms of reliability especially those electrical gremlins!
Thanks so much!
Mercedes C Class? Come on Mercedes we are going to need you to do better. That’s the car you use to court young professionals to your brand. They are going to run screaming 😢
Most European built VW vehicles are fine, the trouble is they let the Americans build them !
Thanks for another great video. It is always informative and I think everyone that watch it learn a lot.
Not surprised to see the Jetta here since my 5 speed mk6 was a nightmare to own. That check engine light stayed on, had to replace the belt, the oem clutch kit had defective parts, evap system would give problems, had to change spark plugs prematurely, the e brake came out of place, also due to it having a turbo, it burned oil like crazy. I bought a Lexus is250 since and the car has been a life saver
Love your post Shari!! They are always fair and informative. I have to laugh at the haters who do not seem to understand why Toyota and Honda autos seldom (actually never) make the unreliable lists and are pretty much always on the recommended lists.
Thanks so much!
I have had 2 Toyotas.
I just traded one in.
They were both great.
I only had to do basic maintenance.
It always amazes me how many consumers are willing to spend their hard-earned money on vehicles that are sure to disappoint. I guess somebody has to buy them.
How can you be sure that it disappoint them of their choice...It's their personal decision. And besides it's not your money.
Before I start watching I presume there will be no Toyota/Lexus.
There is a good reason for this 😃 simply because they are the best 👌 & not you or anyone can deny that 😅
While there are no perfect vehicles I think these these automotive manufacturers are still needing a lot of work to do. Now, if every car was perfect & reliable then cars would not sell, thus dealerships would close their doors & lose money. Therefore, the only way people would go to work Is via a bike or by bus. Plz reply ASAP @@wassimakkire7004
My 26 yo Lexus is personal testimony in favor of the brand. It replaced new MBs over 20 yrs. NO more German cars of any make for me again...NEVER.
@@wholeNwon I agree, but my question is what if cars were perfect & reliable? In my opinion, cars are becoming "Throwaway cars & it's due to the the electronics & more complications.
From what I’ve heard, modern sequoia is pretty unreliable
Thanks to these videos, i dont need consumer reports subscription.
I let my subscription to Consumer Report lapse for the same reason
Very interesting pls made an written classification easy to read and consult
Thank
Livio from Italy/France
Guess we know who didn't have Consumer Reports out for lunch often enough.
So what build quality issues are you talking about for the frontier. Looks pretty solid to me.
So great that in the first 5 seconds you managed to speak to us and show us some pretty unreliable vehicles/brands all in one!
Very thankful to have a 2017 Camry. Hoping to have it until 2030.
I have a 2018 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER, PAID FOR AND BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW, MOREOVER IS AN ABOVE AND BEYOND RELIABLE SUV. AND I’M PLANNING TO KEEP IT UNTIL THE YEAR 3,000 lol. TOYOTAS ARE THE BEST AND MOST RELIABLE VEHICLES. 🤝🤝🤝
Easily until 2040 with basic maintenance
I also hope you can keep it that long. I had a 2014 Camry that started burning oil. I always kept the oil changed and no one could tell me why it happened. Except for the oil burning it was the best vehicle I've ever driven.
@@am74573 Maybe just a bad PCV valve. 10 min. fix.
You must have some reason to part with it so prematurely

Jeep, Range Rover, VW and Mercedes Benz. Pure low end crap 💩 🤮 👎🏼
Mercedes is high end luxury
@@Mkvine
Garbage for the uninformed. Colossally unreliable and crap quality. Gigantic depreciation. 💩
Clueless Narcissists buy it for the badge to appear rich. (Most are broke).
Jeep, Range Rover, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Buick, Gmc, Dodge, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar is crap. Most from Noth America.
Mercedes built quality is crap, this video is 100 percent correct about the C200,we brought one last year and it was the worst car ever built.
@@mickill2
What u bought was a low end model made in USA 😂
Well if your logic about the build quality on the Frontier then you should apply that to the new Jeep GC which debuted in '22. I have a '22 and l am very happy with it with no issues at 26k
It makes me so sad to see American car manufacturers appear on this pitiful list every year. 😢😢
they need to clean up their act pull up their socks and hire "real automotive engineers" TEST their products and fire homer simpson who's in charge of QC.
Sadly this all amounts to big $$$$ which they refuse to spend so they will continue to retain the title of "worst" vehicles.
I just turned in my 2nd Mercedes C 300. I had a 2020 and a 2022. Never had the first issue with either one.
Next video please make it on least reliable SUVs (only suvs)
Well I'm really disappointed, we Brits pride ourselves on making the most unreliable cars, what, no Range Rover. This election won stoled😮
that's funny...the numbers may be somewhat skewed I'm so sorry range rover, jag, mini, lotus, bentley, rolls, aston martin did not make the list. maybe next year.
I thought it was the germs that took pride in making the worst vehicles on the planet. they got top ratings.🤣
@@joeschlepp Ah, better luck next time.
My 7 year old Honda CRV ‘s internal lights don’t function, the Honda technician said it’s a few thousand to repair . Then all of a sudden the electronics appeared on the Dashboard, like the stop sign, and other signs, tho it still runs. The Honda technician said it costs over US2000 to repair. What is so special about Honda?
Take to other dealer they cheat you!
I was seriously considering purchasing a Volvo XC90 2022 model, now I am on the fence.
this channel only thinks that Japanese manufacturers are the only good ones. There is more to a good vehicle than just the reliability score. Volvo makes great cars and I wouldn't let a single opinion sway you from buying one
@@n1cktast1c34anything that is now owned by or touched by chinese interests would be highly suspect in terms of quality/reliability/safety imho.
the low costs of chinese products in general not just vehicle's should be your first clue. you get what you pay for.
VW Taos, we made mistake of purchasing one what a POS
What's wrong with it?
@@0HOON0we got rid of it at a huge loss. Brakes/fuel lines/evaporation canister/ radio/brakes again/check engine lights. All under 30k miles. Yes brakes twice in 32k miles.
@@powertools2375 Damn. Sorry to hear. Hard to understand why VW can be such crap sometimes.
Scary stuff.
GJ Germany. You dominated this list.
No wonder, everything is about maximizing revenue, not quality anymore. Seems there's no other way but buying Japanese cars (not Nissan, they fusioned with Renault and therefore are crappy, too) if you want something reliable.
What is your opinion on a 2021 Chevy Trailblazer LT- Thanks
Not a good value and average reliability. I wouldn't recommend it.
Thanks for the feedback - what 2021 sub compact do you recommend@@carhelpcorner
@@scott1441 Hyundai Kona
Iam looking for a new car soon to replace my old one. Madza. 3. Is on my list with civic non turbo car
You won’t go wrong with a Mazda. I have a 2016 CX9 with 80k miles and zero issues. I was so impressed with Mazda I bought my daughter a CX5. She loves it and has had no issues with it after two years of ownership.
The VAG group has had electronic problems for years due to faulty ecu connection in Europe this triggered recall
Where does the score come from?
Yep just picked by dad up from the stealership for black screen of death on 2024 wrangler rubicon 4xe. I cringed when he bought that thing with all the tech it has. Being a jeep, product I knew this would happen soon and it did.
makes me wonder if some companies deliberately make poor cars that require constant servicing?is cost reduction demands from exec's that want to make a bonus at any cost the reason for cars getting worse every year.
Love my Xc60T8
Its always GM, Ford, chrysler, mercedes, BMW hyndai, Kia. Bad engineering in all, Too much electronics in the german cars
It seems like BMW is more reliable than Mercedes, one of the BMW even got the top 10 most reliable list.
the brands that dont want to show the info are probably the worst ...like land rover it became a classic in the list
Land Rover has always been junk. They're still using the 215 CI Buick V-8 from the 1960's.
@@milfordcivic6755I don’t think they are now, they are best with a diesel engine anyway, can’t beat the torque at low revs it produces & the improved fuel economy.
Every single brand within Stellantis and GM….
Feel good about the UAW making $46/ hour now?
Sure do. I don't think UAW has much to do with bad engineering, poor design and sourcing of their cheap, defective parts. I want assembly line workers to pay taxes and buy stuff they don't need to support our consumer-driven economy (for better or worse).
$46/hr is a decent middle-class wage. So why hate on them and not the c-suite types. They’re the people responsible for the crap coming out of their factories.
I’m right with you all. Why are we hating on the frontline worker and not the $400k engineers and designers?
Taos or tiguan always on this list before I watch...😅
Even my local dealership service dept acknowledges the garbage of their electric cars, which are particularly bad. Actually their entire line up, esp the s-class, is awful.
this is a bit annoying..... they display a Jag F pace on the face page.... they don't even talk about it 10 min later... very odd
In the USA, you have to learn that the car is not driven until it breaks down, that there are regular service intervals regardless of the fact that nothing on the car has broken down, that there is a small (replacement of all fluids and filters) and a major service (replacement of belts, chains, rollers and spanner) of the car, that there are summer and winter tires, etc... Then your car will not break down.
9:27 laughed hard.
Any advice about Ford Territory 2024?
Ford's are junk. Maybe an Edge. The rest are rolling piles of crap.
No jaguar? Wow. On the up.
Interesting
Most people that own these cars would never admit they make such a grave mistake when they purchased them. Especially Grand Cherokee owners, I know several and they think everyone has trouble with their cars.
Honda has all kinds of problems. Cvt transmission. 1.5 t head gaskets. So stop talking out of your ass
I HAve had 4 Volvo XC 60s and never had 1 issue
I guess the obvious question is, "If you are happy with it, why did you get 4 of them?" 4:50
@marleneprokopetz1857 my wife and I each had one and we get new ones every 3 years
I hope you haven't issues if you drove it only 3 years 😂
Not surprised. Ever wish you could still buy a "new" Volvo 240 DL wagon????
Not really haha. But yes old Volvos had amazing build quality.
Ones to avoid would be any of them that say E, I. H or VVT engines in them. Oh that's probably all of them.
My 2015 Jetta has been perfect. No issues at all.
I'm interested to see how the new Nissan Frontiers actually perform. I bought a 2017 new at the time. I still own it.
It has had zero issues until this year. Sadly this year i had issues with the fuel evap system, the radiator and coolant systems, the electronics for the heating systems, and issues with the locks of all things.
I have always maintained my vehicles well so time will tell i suppose. However, I doubt I would buy a Nissan again at this point.
Who else is surprised there were no Hyundai or Kia’s 😅
I own a vw Tiguan which is ten years old. The car had only one fault.which was the master cylinder. Not bad for any car.Ps I have owned the car from new which Is still in mint condition. U k car made in Germany.
Damn, just damn. So, Stellantis, GM, Tata, and Geely are unreliable car makers. I'm disappointed in VW. Stellantis should have bought Mitsubishi or Nissan to help with quality and quality control. This is just sad.
“Land Rover, Jaguar, AlphaRomeo” - Too bad to spend anytime collecting data tier.
Surprise Range Rover is not in the list!
Engineered to fail is a bit out of control but remains the cash cow of the industry.
Stupid question: what score is considered average here?
Not a stupid question. Was wondering the same thing
Volvo is pretty reliable. Chinese company Geely only bought rights to Volvo to sky rocket their brand into the mainstream. The European cars are still made in Sweden and the HQ is still in Gothenburg.
Might be the manufacturing being done in America that doesn't resemble that of the European make or that America imports Volvos from China where Chinese manufacturing is done.
Volvos are not the best and not the worst.
Most brands were actually rated average and scored 40-50 points /100.
Ford 150 Hybrid? Fix Or Repair Daily!
Ignore these CR reliability reports at your own peril!
Man, when Jetta’s first came out, they were a decent vehicle. Now, there crap. What happen?
What no nissan bro this time lol
👍
No GM vehicles. Hmm
Sigh of relief at JLR Headquarters
Putting the C class here, the golden standard of the premium compact sedan means that you know nothing about cars and this is just a sh1t show biased and endorsed by some Chinese brand.
Chrysler has always made junk!
Here is what I think, Chrysler is history. There is no need for Chrysler to exist. Once the current run of the Pacifica is done the next generation will be electric. That can be folded into the Dodge line up. I am not surprised by your report. I guess that it takes too much effort for these companies to engineer and build a quality reliable vehicle. Then again what do they care. They lease their crap products for an average of 3 years & then resell them as certified vehicles so they make 2 sales off the same product! I was thinking of purchasing a certified Equinox a year or 2 from now. After reading of the turbo charger problems, I will not consider one. As for those 3-cylinder turbo charged GM SUVS-no way I am going to buy one. I doubt that those engines will make it long term. I am going to look at either at a certified or non-certified Mazda or Toyota. Honda is another brand that has declined, and they are also off my list.
How come Kia and Hyundai didn't make it to the list this time?
They seem to learn from their mistakes.
They ranked average in the middle range this year. Still not the best.
They're finally getting their act together.
Ya right like im gonna avoid honda civic. I know what ford and chevy send down the line. They don't even give AF if it falls apart during inspection
My next car won’t be a Honda or a Nissan . Nissan got problems with the radiator, the driver’s auto door doesn’t work and horn misfunction and a host of other things. Goodbye Nissan .
Not to be unexpected; 40% American, 40% German, Nissan and a Chinese company that purchased European crap.
Not a owner but Nissan Titan i always here is a decent truck
😢😢
Crappy vehicles shouldn’t be a thing but stupid people still keep buying them.
Dodge and Chrysler have sucked since the days of Al Bundy....😂
Mr. "Carhelp corner". How do you know how 2024 model cars will turn out? In my opinion ....You don't have a clue. Experience will tell ...not you.
Very easy. You can infer based on their track record and past performance over many years. That's what Consumer Reports and ISeeCars does. This is their data. Not mine.
😁✔✔✔
I guess VW is crap.
Another post banging on about Toyotas, Boring !
I am not surprised by this list it's typical European and American and one Japanese vehicle a Nissan ute l thought they were OK not as good as Toyota or Isuzu or Mazda but just OK they don't have the JATCO cut transmission
I will only buy Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai vehicles. all others are not worth the gamble.
Hyundai? What about Mazda and Kia?
@@s-man3684You do know Kia IS a Hyundai brand?
@@kjhnsn7296 Yes. That's why I asked.
The 10-year 100-mile warranty was the main selling point. To be honest... My wife picked it out. Mazda and Kia were not even considered.
@@franciscocruzjr5721 I've heard the Kia/Hyundai dealerships don't stand behind that warranty so well.
The Chinese and German vehicles seem to be POS vehicles
Many 2024 models are in many cases totally different from previous models. You are therefore comparing apples and oranges. Approach not accepted in the world of higher science.
This dude is a Toyota fan boy, don’t watch
You don't want him to tell the truth?
Chrysler " Pethedica"
all the usual suspects. thank you for all your work and research.
I see tesla's didn't make your list...lol
Every Tesla was average somewhere in the middle range. Not the best but certainly not the worst.
