- Poly Bridge Battle Royale #1 - Victory Royale. Hundreds of bridge builders enter, one bridge builder leaves. Builders have ONE CHANCE to submit a working bridge under budget, and if they fail, they are eliminated. Who will prove themselves to be the greatest bridge builder?

just a potential idea, when there are only 5 players or so to complete a bridge you should lock in those 5 players for a showdown, give them a very challenging level, then if none of them complete it unlock the battle royale
It was really fun to compete, but next time you should probably use custom levels to reduce the risk of people already knowing the level.
then it’d be kinda jank cuz the level might be too hard to one-shot

And probably do this without campers by removing everyone who was not on last round but was on this round

I love how the GAME DEV and the LEVEL DESIGNER couldnt beat their own levels.

Honestly it was soooo fun being able to participate and i am looking forward to having more of that.
This is a brilliant idea and you should really consider doing it often.

Maybe to discourage both alt accounts and encourage everyone planning on participating to play from the start, have it be that the winner is the person who won the most bridges instead of whoever gets to the end? It means those that build for the more difficult bridges can get more points (wins) but also risk failing it and being unable to get more points.
the only problem i see is tracking every person's bridge submissions which is really hard to say the least. Not impossible, just hard

That was so much fun! Obviously I knew most of the solutions beforehand, since i am speedrunning the game, but custom levels would be cool as well. If possible, prevent campers :P

its sucks good players like you didn't get to have a fair competition due to campers, but it seems like a hard issue to combat.
@@flooow3409 How was it not a fair competition? Everyone knew the rules beforehand. Everyone knew that the point was NOT to beat every single level, but to instead be the only one to beat a level. So participating in every single level means that you were either very confident in your abilities to beat the level, or you were simply very bad at strategizing, as you increase the chances to get eliminated if you participate in every level. Finding the right levels to participate in was just as much a part of and just as much a factor in being a "good player" in this competition.

@Dominic Livingston more like the internet stole their designs lol. They are two of the best players of the game. I think that their familiarity with the levels made it seem that way.

Poly Bridge should have a "whitelist" button that automatically whitelists everyone on the submission list.
Then you could unlist everyone who failed and you would only see winners of previous rounds next time
I like the unique strategy of blacklist. Yes, you can skip the hard levels and take the victory, but you never know which level will be the last. If you skip a hard level and only one gets it then you don't win.

Idea to incentive taking some risks at the beginning of the match: you keep track on how much people keep under budget. When they submit something over budget it still counts. As long as they have the reserves to pull it of.
when you camp you can not build up reserves. When you make an efficient design you get rewarded.
Also we probably see more close calls. Which makes it more interesting to watch.
When I heard the opening music for the battle royale explanation, all I could think of was Tyler’s epic minesweeper/battles game where he finished a minesweeper game as a btd battles game was starting. Good memories.
This really looked like a lot of fun and could definitely be implemented into the game some how. Keep it up Tyswizzle ;)
I was on stream, i built my First bridge in my life on Poly bridge, i was "i_am_a_shiny_boi", i got eliminates because well, i forgot to compress the Springs in the wheigt balace level, and my computer lagged SO I COULD NOT EVEN SEE MY BRIDGE FAIL AHHHHHH

First stream i was able to catch, it was super fun! Was sad to see so many technical difficulties so early on tho, joined late cause of school and was hoping to join the second round but alas, there was none, definitely excited for the next one! Especially with some of the rules you discussed in the stream!
This was super fun to watch and i bet it was super fun to do and organize, but i don’t know if this is possible but i felt like people who camped had a clear advantage by only having to complete a few levels whereas other players who were very consistent failed one and were out. Even though they just passed about 10 levels. Anyways love your content man keep it up!

This is so not my type of game to play, but this is incredibly fun to watch. Especially when you see designs so well thought out but one detail messes everything up.

Great concept but I feel like there should be a way to make it more of a battle royale where people can only enter at the start. You'd get through more events that way even if people have to wait 2 or 3 rounds to start the next one

If possible for next time:
Have like 5 rounds for people to come in then cut it off
in each level the person with the lowest budget gains a point; 3 points allows them to remain standing if they fail, however if 1 person does what nobody else can they still win immediately

I know you said there will be more rules for the next one. Hopefully it fixes the amount of people joining. When only 10 or less people succeed and next level has 50 submissions theres an issue lol I stopped halfway through cause the suspense of who might win all just matters on the final level. Fun to complete but I found it hard to submit on time so in a lot of the early levels I just camped it out

Love the idea but feel like there has to be some solution to weed out people sooner. A level that takes down minecat shouldn't immediately be followed by 40 submissions (especially if the previous round had 3)
