Im sorry if this upsets anyone but the asian airine staff have the best customer service, they are extremely kind and courteous. Singapore, malasia, Thai, china, japan. All exceptional airlines. Not to say that other airlines dont have wonderful staff but these particular airlines stand out to me the most ❤

I’m a Daimond Card Star Alliance of which both United and EVA Air belong. EVA is my preferred ride since I fly out of Taipei. Firstly, the Asian and Middle East based airlines are hands down better than all US carriers. Also note, the Japanese food meal on EVA to Taipei would naturally be better since it’s prepared in Osaka. BTW: try untying your shoes before putting on the slippers. With that said, THE BEST business class by far is Emirates..

If you're planning to fly to Asia, I highly recommend choosing an Asian airline like China Airlines. I once flew with Delta, and the service was disappointing compared to what I've experienced with Asian carriers. Based on the two airlines you've mentioned, I would definitely say that EVA Air is a much better choice than United. Looking forward to seeing your Taipei trip vlog soon.

I think United is making a serious attempt to catch up to their Asian competitors, but there is still a huge gap. Am considering flying to Japan from Australia - maybe using SIA as they have some good deals atm, but it does add more time to the journey, or either ANA or JAL or QANTAS direct to Tokyo (not sure about QANTAS as have seen mixed reviews). Then, flying EVA from Tokyo to Seoul. I'm curious to see what EVA is like for economy compared to Singapore Airlines.

Happy belated. My experience with the Eva Airlines business class product was great. Far superior to United Polaris. Now I don't bother trying to fly United Internationally. I will only fly their Star Alliance partners

In general the Asian airlines are better than what we have here in the United States however there is a drawback to the Asian airlines you would need to be avoiding the first airline in the region Philippine Airlines the service isn't as good as the ones seen in Singapore Taiwan Hong Kong Japan and South Korea. Those places always have the best Airlines as seen on Skytrax. If your final destination is Manila Philippines which one would you choose BR7/261 or BR17/27 to BR271 or PR115/105 lastly UA189 which itself actually starts on the East Coast at 8 p.m. EWR-SFO-MNL

I forgot to mention my recent trip on Europe on UA premium economy. The food was bad on the flight from EWR to BCN, and was not even edible on BCN to SFO. I flew economy on quite a few carriers and never experienced anything like this. In business class Cathay Pacific served the best food.
So flying with United seems to be much lower class. The food for Business Class looked so unappealing. Looked more like Economy too me. 😂 The seating area seemed too crowded...However, Flying with EVA…Major difference… The food looked fabulous, Good presentation!! The seating seemed to be more relaxed…If it were me, I would likely fly with EVA. So much for my opinion.

Smoking ban in place since the 1990s. Now you can take it for granted. The FAA required that this signal be switched manually by the pilot. This regulation was changed this year. Now the signs only have to be present in aircraft operating in the US, but no longer necessarily illuminated. At Airbus, the lighting has been on permanently for a long time. Comply with US regulations. They had to install the special switch for US market. This is no longer necessary for Airlines only operated in Europe. Some Scandinavian airlines have gone a step further and have not answered a no-smoking sign at all, but have instead installed a no-telephone sign.

Did you know that you should never put on the complimentary slippers until after take off and remove them before landing... it's a safety thing should the aircraft crash or urgent evacuation is required. As for the airlines, I avoid US airlines, they really are hopeless with their business class service...waste of money. Asian carriers, not mainland Chinese are the best. EVA Air must have been like paradise compared to United. Great report.
