Seems a bit too serious for my tastes. I like the fun Adam West and George Clooney Batman, or the Marvel shows with a sense of humor to keep me hooked. Seems interesting, but the overly dramatic stuff isn't for everyone because we're all different!❤
The penguin series takes place after the Batman movie because it is about penguins rise to power. They're also will be a gcpd series starring Jim Gordon with some appearances of Robert Pattinson Batman to set up the Batman 2 sequel.

The Arkham show is happening but it's set in the DCU (James Gunn's universe).
1:45, James Gunn mentioned a year ago in his video, Matt Reeves' "The Batman" Series (including The Penguin"), Todd Phillip's "Joker", and the animated "Teen Titans Go" are categorized as Elseworlds (each in their own universe), so it's in DCU but not the main DCU itself.

Right, just to clear up: The Penguin is a direct continuation from the end of The Batman, not a prequel, and The Batman universe is entirely separate from both the DCEU and James Gunn's upcoming DCU (which will introduce its own Batman in 'The Brave and the Bold'). Robert Pattinson's Batman is rumored to appear in this.

I'm more excited for this Batman-verse than I am for the DCU & MCU lol. The only thing is, they're so slow at releasing stuff. I hope Reeves continues this universe though. These darker tones & the seriousness is a breath of fresh air for the comic book genre, might be why I loved Jon Bernthal's Punisher so much. Plus I love crime thriller dramas.

Unless they plan to do a giant “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover movie event (which I would pay top dollar to see), Matt Reeves’ Batman and James Gunn’s new DCU remain separate.
The DCU will have it's own Batman that will debut in The Brave and The Bold. Casting has not started yet.

If you guys haven’t already, you should watch Gotham. Criminally underrated show in my opinion. It brings its own special depiction of Gotham city and especially Jim Gordon which I think you might enjoy.
I think the TheVerse is its own thing.
The Batman made it pretty clear that Penguin will fill the vacuum of power in Gotham’s underworld after Falcone’s death and Gotham’s flooding. Did you guys forget about that bit? This show is NOT a prequel
Penguin was by far the best part of that Batman movie.
Call me an idiot, but I only just now realized that Tyrion Lannister is probably heavily inspired by The Penguin as a character. You know, GRRM being a big comic book fan, the part about getting ostracized for his appearance, thinking that no woman could ever love him and turning into a villain to get revenge and respect that way. Maybe its just a coincidence, but, well, the parallels are definitely there.
This version of THE BATMAN is based off the Original Batman Detective Comics... they are the BEST VERSION BATMAN.

No The Batman and this are its own separate universe. I am pretty sure the plans are to make this an “elseworld” universe. And same goes for The Joker. Which I think is smarter…it makes it easier to do one off shows or movies without the pressure of connection to every single thing.

This is and has been confirmed to be in Matt Reeve's The Batman Universe and is a direct continuation of the ending of the movie post- Gothams flooding after the Riddler's city-wide attack. The fuck did you think this was an elseworlds tale? You just pulled that out of your ass.
i don't get why ppl think "the batman" is way better than "the dark knight," but 🤷🏻♀️. with that said, i think "the batman" was really good. the whole cast did amazing and i loved their take on the villains. collin was a definite standout for me. and i really like how they're leaning into the more realistic take on batman and gotham and I'm excited for "penguin." and speaking of villains, i was meh about barry as joker till i saw his talent in "saltburn." i am actually excited about this version of the universe, despite my unwavering love for nolan's or even the animated series versions.
To be honest both movies are good but I feel like the animated films portray Batman the best

"HBO doesn't take chances like netflix does", not only was that the entire mantra of HBO pre 2009 and was a great thing but Max also has nothing to do with HBO. They're completely separate and handled by completely different people. Which is why Max has a brand new Pretty Little Liars series that came out in 2022 and is an embarassment to just have it associated with HBO's name.
