In my opinion is the best DLC i ever played.
This dlc is awesome but to be honest it was actually even to much brutal at some points. And especially the final boss is insanely difficult, almost impossible to fight him solo

I remember standing on the shore staring out at the ocean having beaten the Orphan of Kos. I put the controller down and felt a wave of emotion at having completed the journey. It’s part of why the game means so much to me. As always, thanks for your journeys!

When I see people going through Bloodborne for the first time, I feel so proud of them when they conquer bosses.
Hope you playthrough the dlc again with the music turned on. Some of the boss themes are the most epic pieces of music in gaming history (for me anyway)

Laurence in my opinion is easily the hardest boss in the game. Only the headless bloodletting beast gave me as much trouble.
I found Laurence to be the toughest too.
I find orphan of kos the hardest in a ng playthrough, but laurence I find harder on ng+ oddly enough

Great episode again. Would love to see a Sekiro one when you’re ready. Prepare yourself for a steep learning curve, even as a Bloodborne veteran, once the combat clicks though it feels absolutely amazing.

Adam, have you played the outer wilds? Not to be confused with the outer worlds. It’s a little indie space exploration game where every 22 minutes in game the sun explodes and the solar system is completely destroyed. You keep waking up on a planet with your ship after every time the sun explodes. You have to find out why it’s happening, how you can stop it and how to find other explorers and what they know about it. You keep the information you learnt every time the solar system explodes so the next time you wake up you know exactly where to go and how long you got left until you die.
It’s honestly amazing. The music is breathtaking. The best sci-fi game anyone who had played it has ever played. It won so many awards and Bethesda’s Starfield is rumoured to be taking inspiration from this little indie game.
Give it a play. It’s on sale right now on the PlayStation store and it’s got a platinum. I promise you this game is one of those games where once you’ve played it you feel a little depressed because it’s over and how impactful that just was to you. Watch the trailer for it on UA-cam and read all the comments. This game makes people cry just how beautiful it looks and the music oh god the music!
This games trophies link to exploration and the story so there’s no collectibles, no missable trophies, or different playthroughs required. You choose where you start your adventure in the game. It’s best to go in blind. I promise you please don’t sleep on this indie game. It’s just amazing.

I finally got the dlc for this masterpiece and as promised imma watch this video
Context summary. I platinumed Bloodborne in 2020, it was my first souls game. In 2022 however, I played Elden Ring, sekiro and demons souls, which gave me so much experience with the franchise. After I platinumed those 3 games, I decieded to start a new character on Bloodborne
My current progress, I beat the game ( did everything that I did for my platinum journey)minus the final boss at 70, now I am at the dlc. iI Beat everyone minus Kos and fishing hamlet. Haven’t got there yet
Took me an avarge of 17h to to do everything, its fair to say practice makes perfect
I really hope you tackle another souls game in the future. U got the tendency and skills tbh

Late to the party but I love seeing this type of awe to a video game. Playing the dlc myself for the first time was an intense struggle and the settings were so beautiful.
Yeah, the DLC really struck me. Might have enjoyed it more than the main game.
I wish you kept in the footage of the fight to get Rakuyo because that's basically the REAL toughest boss fight in the game 😂
Kudos to you, mate. Bloodborne is a wonderful game to get the platinum for. It's not a grind fest like most games. Even getting the Yharnam, Queen of Pthumeria trophy is fun, challenging, and rewarding. (sweet blood gems) Even though it doesn't make you do tedious grinding and useless collectible hunts, it makes you earn every single trophy. I love that aspect about Bloodborne's trophy system. Sekiro needs at least 2 playthroughs to platinum if you cloud/backup save to get all endings. Even though you need to play it twice, it's the only other game that gave me the same feeling with the trophies. It wasn't a grind fest. It was a beautiful and exciting journey growing with Wolf. I earned every last one of them by being the greatest damn shinobi the world has ever seen...and by spamming firecrackers or at everyone to create cheap openings to capitalize on like a hero... Mostly the second one if I'm being honest. It's a completely different style of combat than any other FromSoft game. If you loved Bloodborne, Sekiro is right up your alley despite them being completely different.
I didn't struggle that much getting the Rakuyo. Decided to just skim by it and not exhaust the viewer with endless struggles.

Nice work. I think I enjoyed this more than the main Platinum Journey video. As far as Sekiro goes, it supplanted Bloodborne as my favorite FromSoft game. It has the most brutally satisfying white-knuckle combat I've experienced. Would definitely make for a great episode.

I woke up from a really good nap and saw this video.... my day just keeps getting better and better.
That Maria fight was intense. It works well as a parry fight, but going toe-to-toe with her is also a killer experience.

I am abysmal with parrying, could never get the timing down so went with dodging instead. Yeah, really intense fight. My favourite in the game.

A great video, particularly more impressive having gone through it on New Game Plus as it is harder. I decided to finally bite the bullet and play Bloodborne after watching your Platinum Journey video on it. So very glad I did. Easily top 3 PS4 era games for me. I even went back and got the DLC shortly after so I could get the 100%. The DLC was perfectly crafted and fit the vibe of the original game so, so well. A real masterpiece, from start to finish. The setting, the lore, the enemies, the DLC. Superb.

I was stressed watching you fight these bosses and I couldn't make it past the blood starved beast in the base game. This is a good saturday.
The Blood Starved Beast is a tough boss. No shame in not being able to beat him.

Doing a first playthrough of the DLC on New Game + is incredibly impressive. This was a joy to watch, although I would have loved to see your struggles (if there were any) in getting the Rakuyo from the bottom of the well.

The old hunters is probably the best dlc ever imo -actually, i'd say the witcher 3 dlc is equally fantastic! What I mean is that dlc/expansions of this quality are very rare! Thanks for another great video adam, I rewatch your older videos frequently because they are just timeless works of art

Great work as always Adam! Maria is the best boss in the game in my opinion and one of the best in any game I've played. The intro, the lore, the arena, her attacks and patterns are absolutely brilliant. Looking forward to just a slight change in pace with Vice City.

Such a great video. I love seeing people play Bloodborne because the experience you get it from fighting a boss and finally defeating it , is such a satisfying feeling. I'd highly recommend Dark Souls 3 as it's got some fantastic bosses in that game too.

I wasn't really interested in the aesthetic of Dark Souls before I played it but slowly over the course of the playthrough it really grabbed me. There are a lot of beautiful scenes and it feels like you're playing through a painting the entire time.

Playing these bosses without the music is like missing out on half the experience! Ludwig and Laurence have some of the best scores put in a game period. I urge you to do a playthrough with music on full blast!

Bit late to this, but great video and nice job on beating Laurence and Orphan of Kos! (Probably the two hardest bosses in the entire series, by the way). I know you've made it clear you aren't interested in Dark Souls or Demon's Souls due to the settings and aesthetics, but I would highly recommend trying them out sometime in the future. Even if it's not as aesthetically appealing to you as Bloodborne or Sekiro, it's still that amazing gameplay loop you seem to enjoy as much as I do. I don't know if you care about completion on your profile or not, but maybe just a playthrough rather than a platinum journey? That way it wouldn't be too big a commitment. Either way, congratulations, and can't wait to see more platinum journey in the future!

I'm a huge fan of Future Perfect. Saw the news and am really excited. We have another few years to wait until the game is done but it will be worth it.
It took me about 40 or more attempts before defeating the Orphan of Kos. I had to use weapon buffs, Max Blood Vials, fighting him way out in the lake on even ground, and the badass Whirligig Saw to finally take him down. When I finally defeated Kos I think I woke my mom up when I clapped to myself and cheered semi-loudly. I personally think Laurence was harder.

I decided to start this dlc while I am in ng+2-3. 😳. I don't remember if I'm in 2or 3. but man is it challenging. I'm enjoying it so far. Awesome video👍. Figured I'd come back to rewatch while I'm playing the DLC
