    This was great and looking forward to the rest of the series as we are taking our kids on their first Disney Cruise next year on the Wish!

    We have been on several dcl cruises and love them! DCL reminds us of what the parks were like 15 years ago.
    The CMs are so attentive.
    On your next cruise, go concierge. It's a whole new level in being spoiled😅

      Thanks for the tip! I don't think we have the budget to do concierge, but I'll put it on our bucket list. I agree that the service was excellent!

      I think the cruise line imitating the park experience of yesterday is the underlying (not said, but kind of understood) idea. Especially good for character meet and greets. A much more controlled environment than the parks (even though they too are controlled). Less people to run up and jostle against. More exclusive. Above the fray. Sailing away…;)

    Funny we just did our first cruise ever on the Disney Wish, the cruise before you 19-22. Did it as a tryout cruise before our stay at WDW. Next cruise already booked on the Treasure next year 😂

    I am the planner, for sure!! However, I’ve never planned a cruise, I should do that…

      Well, we learned A LOT on this cruise. It was a lot of fun, and a different dimension of the Disney experience.

      That was so funny that Randall was caught up in the whirlwind. ;). Didn’t know what hit him. You guys make a good team. Very informative vlog!

      Re midship rooms being booked first: I think it may be bc there is supposedly less rocking of ship the closer you are to the middle and bottom of ship. Btw, just think of “aft” as “after”. Also know as the fantail. Ship terms are so much fun! Come about (turn around)! ;).

    Yay! I've been waiting for this video from you and cannot wait to hear the rest of y'all's thoughts about cruising with Disney. Trying to convince my husband to take my 4 1/2 year-old daughter and me on a DCL cruise soon!
    We have never cruised before. I trust your advice and opinion.
    We are also Disney Vacation Club owners. Did y'all use any points for this cruise? Perhaps you're planning to cover that in a video. I will be watching!
    Thank you so much for doing this!
    Oh, also, I would love your opinion on whether younger kids do well with the kids' club. My daughter is in preschool; however, we are hesitant to leave her with strangers even if Disney cast members.
    Thank you!

      Honestly the oceanears club for kids is amazing! Even young kids will love it and the cast members are outstanding! The only downside is you might have to drag them out of there!

      Yay! I'm so glad to be able to share our experience with you. We did not use points for this cruise. Our kids loved the kid's clubs. You have the opportunity to tour the kid's clubs on the first day and I'd highly recommend doing that. It helps them to get comfortable with the space and procedures. I saw kids of all ages in the Oceaneer Club playing together - from preschool age through elementary. I suspect that it may take a bit longer for younger kids to get comfortable there, but I thought they did a great job with them.

    We are interested in trying a cruise. Do you have recommendations on booking a Disney cruise? Do you think 4 days was too long or perfect for your trip?

    • @TheMagicInTheMusic
      @TheMagicInTheMusic  8 місяців тому

      We chose the 4 night trip because it fit best into our schedule. I was also concerned about my tendency to get motion sickness, but I was able to manage it just fine. So, when we book our next cruise, I'd probably go for a longer trip. I think 5 days would be perfect, but I'm leaning towards a 7 day cruise next time. I think 4 was perfect for the first Disney cruise, though.

    I disagree with the deck suggestions. You always want to have staterooms above and below you to minimize noise. Having entertainment venues directly below or activities almost guarantees you will have a lot of unwanted noise most of the day and night.

    • @TheMagicInTheMusic
      @TheMagicInTheMusic  7 місяців тому +1

      I appreciate your input. I had heard that advice as well, but our experience was the opposite. We LIKED being relatively close to the stairs and near the activity of the food and entertainment areas, and we were shocked at just how quiet our room was despite it's proximity to all that activity. But I totally understand that others might prefer something else.

      Perhaps Disney cruises are less raucous than , say, carnival or virgin. ;). A less party all night crowd, especially with kids and “upgrade your diamonds” crowd. But I agree, having earplugs and noise-canceling devices can be a godsend! Don’t leave home w/o them!
