Oh hell naw ya'll don't want to start reacting to Outkast tracks. When you really listen to him... Andre from Outkast is one of the 10 greatest lyricists of all time... that's why Eminem said he's in his top 10.
according to Erykah Badu, the real Ms. Jackson (her mother) loved this song. Andre wrote this after they broke up when their son was 2. Erykah said she had trouble listening to it at first (especially Big Boi’s verse) but that she appreciated the honesty behind Andre’s words.

Agree! My son was listening to a newer rap song and it's HEAVILY sampled in whatever he was listening to. He wouldn't tell me who because he was pissed I was singing the original over it 😂
Andre and BigBoi have a great story about how they met in a cypher in the lunch room in high school and the rest was history. Possibly the most influential rap group of all time. And still kind of slept on somehow.
I'm shocked that these guys and a lot of guys their age haven't heard a lot of songs I listened to and consider classics, it makes me wonder what type of music did their parents play around them
The cat, owl and dog are great in this video. I have played this over and over on the radio back in the day but it’s my first time seeing the video, for real.
Yall should check out the video for International Players Anthem by UGK. It's a great song. With a great video featuring Outkast (though they worked on it completely independently). Also. I believe that sound you were asking about is a snare drum roll played in reverse.
Let me tell you a quick story. When Outkast came out I was living on South Beach (Miami) and my Aunt had a scooter shop which was known as the Hip Hop Scooter Shop. all of the artists back in the day, P Diddy (ugh) Ludacris, etc. would rent out the scooters. Anyway, one day on a Saturday I was out front hanging out and this loud music came up and a truck started driving through and it was Outcast! They were driving through promoting their music, flags flowing, etc. It was amazing! Love them!
The house represents the relationship btwn man and woman ..The house is falling apart and no matter what they do to try and fix it , its just not working out ..Dope video/concept and 1 off my favorite groups of all time

Da Art of Storytelling pt 1 and 2 are both really great tracks I still listen to all the time. The whole album Aquemini was amazing!! (I might have spelled that wrong)

Then in one of the interludes they play Roses. EVERYONE sang along. No way you're gonna play Outkast in ATL and not have everyone singing it.
