I stole home on the pitch once. I realized about 10 feet from the plate that the batter had no clue I was coming and I if they swung it would probably kill me lol
+Terram Lucida Tela Concilium lmao that's part of the reason I never tired. That and because I'm a lousy base runner.
Jeury Veloz If the batter is left handed at least they can see you.
Terram Lucida Tela Concilium true
Terram Lucida Tela Concilium yyysqhefdf
Yeah, we believe you ran 80 feet in less than two seconds ;)
you can understand stealing home against a left hander, but a right hander? that's practically looking at you? talk about a slap in the face..... :D
+Wyatt Brown sometimes they are in their "rituals" lol
this I awkward
Righties don't usually look at the runner on third
Love it the Video
Wwe top 10
"you sure hes 19"
Dude looked 27 along with everyone else in that dugout.
So, as a guy who watches a lot of cricket, I'm going to say that none of these players stole home. They slide in, they touch the base, they get up, and they haven't stolen the base because the base is still there. Seriously, thanks for posting. Made me realise how much of an art there is to this.
I was at the Red Sox/Yankees where Elisburry stole home. The crowd was lit. Too bad I was in the bathroom when it happened
+Mason Hess hey self
Ellsbery stole home again!!
That's why you use the bathroom I between innings
+Apples Atholomew in between innings
Andrew lol
wheres Benny the jet Rodriguez?
Best ever
ikr
Last I saw him was on "The Sandlot"!!
Daniel Espinoza yasss
Was he real
it takes some serious balls to steal home
S1KE especially with 2 outs
S1KE made of steel
Or strikes
Seriously does
Especially vs a righty...a stupid one, but a righty nonetheless.
No love for Rod Carew? He stole home SEVEN times in 1969 !!
Didn't see Gerald Williams, either - stole home 4 times in one game in 1995.
Yep, another Twins fan here wondering how he missed this since Carew did a pure steal every time (stole by beating the pitch); no running home during a play at another base or something).
Unfortunately, not much video exists from that era. Videos were rarely saved back then.
Ha 19*69*!!!😂
My favorite player of all time my email address is a tribute to him.
All of those are fun in context, but the truly impressive thing is the straight steal of home, of which I counted 4 in this video (sadly including one by the Red Sox against my Yankees, which I watched live and still remember). The one straight steal against the right hander was truly remarkable though. That has to be up there with perfect games and unassisted triple plays as amongst the rarest feats in baseball.
Straight steals of home on right handed pitchers are really rare, but what is more rare is the home run cycle. Nearly happened last year when someone had a solo, two 2-runs, and a grand slam. In minor league baseball, the home run cycle has only happened once by a guy named Tyrone Horne (July 27, 1998 for Double-A Arkansas Travelers).
It's so rare that most people might not realize what it means. For those that don't, it means a 1 run homer, a two run homer, a 3 run homer and a grand slam for four. (They don't have to be in order, of course.) Horne is the only player to ever do it, and the bat he used is in the Hall of Fame at Cooperstown.
howard baxter ikr. I just thought of that one day and googled it and learned that
want to see someone steal home in world series game 7....down by 1....2 outs...bottom of the 9th
damn we were close in 2014 tbh
Roman Reigns more like tie game
... and 2 strikes
Or bottom of the the 14th inning tie game two outs full count.
Roman Reigns that would be lit
Where is Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez?
Balkrat they left out thw best of all time
Yeah?
I recently watched that movie!! 😂🤣
Your Killimg me Smalls!!!
100 th like for you
Love it! Especially with 2 outs. 3:50 was the best with a left-handed batter. Pitchers got to watch those runners!
Nice compilation. The rarest and most fun to watch play in baseball.
Von Sterner thanks
Run downs, pass balls, wild pitches and broken plays shouldn't really count as stolen bases. I like the true steal when you just steal the base.
+Donald Mousseau Definitely with you there. I'd only consider 3 or 4 of the plays in this video "stealing home"
nah
Run downs because of pickoffs and throwdowns are absolutely stolen bases. Passed balls and wild pitches are not.
exactly. you don't steal the base if they wild pitch, or goes past pitcher.
If you watch Jackie Robinson he actually does it
The straight steals are the best, especially the one against the righty. That's an alert baserunner and a pitcher that's truly asleep at the switch.
In my mind, a lot of them are not stealing home. Maybe *technically* by the letter of the rule they are, but not in my mind when there's 15 throws around the diamond. That's just sloppy fundamentals.
One of the best was missing, Jason Werth taking it on the throw back to the pitcher.
It's considered stealing
Bobby Minnich the double steal is still a steal although I know what you mean we only saw one outright steal of home.
Oh please, shut the fuck up.
You really had to play that ear rape at the end
I liked it
operation velvet shell
@@sam-wj1sm Operation Jakal foh
Lol
Pepe
Pick-Offs and passed balls don't count as steals.
Passed balls do but not pickoffs
If the runner was going before the pitch then it would be a SB instead of a WP or PB.
If it is a pickoff attempt then it is a SB on any advancement as long as nobody is put out. The putout would be a CS if there was any movement towards the next base, a PkOff if there was no movement towards the next base and everyone else that advances would be marked as Advance On Throw.
Ppl forget how good Omar Vizquel was and the quality of the teams he played for. He should be in the HOF for sure.
Among the most exciting plays in the game. I've seen one no-hitter (one pitch short of a perfect game, the last batter walked). It felt like you were witnessing baseball history.
1:34 is the first real steal of home.
I hope to see more of these MLB videos from you Bryce...I really liked "Punks".
Thanks
You should do the best plays in left field of 2015-2016
shut up he's one of the best baseball players in the league
Yes it does stupid
One of the most exciting plays in sports. I didn't play baseball very long, but played it all during my youth. I was a very quick kid who was also pretty tiny. So my strike zone was small so I'd get on base a lot via walks, bunts, or neatly placed bloopers into the shallow part of the outfield. I remember my coach one time told me to, if I got walked, to run as fast as I could straight to first and keep going to second. I forget if it worked or not but let's just say that it did.
I'm a simple guy. I don't follow baseball really that much, but I am always watching videos like this on my lunch break. Any kind of sport.
Thanks for this kinda video bryce
No problem
Yeah thanks
+Mason Benetton do you play at east side baseball
+Mason Hess hey mason
Only 4 were "pure" steals.
God, what a little bitch you are. You watch these just to criticize, Sad.
no. he is right. I was thinking the same exact thing
@@freeyourmindtc This one's for you: ua-cam.com/video/JEWFsWoR3xo/v-deo.html

@david landgard that...was.....AMAZING
Whoops, I meant @kram null
The slowest guy on my team stole home... i was in a pickle for about a minute...
The crowd is pumped after a steal home
I wonder if the umpires get excited seeing something that awesome like Andrus stealing home
Benny The Jet Rodriguez has the greatest steal ever
ZackAttack Missouri Nah, Sal Bando.
Dave Roberts
2:06 Thats when the Phillies knew they wanted Harper for 13 years😂 how times change🤣
thanks for making this awesome video hope you make some more like this
that last one is ohso classic... good stuff
"The sound cut out so I replaced blessed silence with garbage"
The 2 Royals ones were 👌
The first Royals one was just bad base running with a little luck though.
m
That last "classic" was a balk too! Take your base, thank you pitcher.
I don't always steal, but when I do, I steal home.
the royals are just a well put together team it's not like they have some amazing players it's just they have the right team
True
+Kyle Mullins That would be the Pirates
+Kyle Mullins The Royals do have amazing players. But, they proved that you don't need the league MVP or Cy Young winner to win a World Series Championship.
+KingZachRus This is an understatement.
Rawk4Life Or you can say that having MVPs and Cy Young winners don't necessarily means you can win it all
Missing Ellsbury's newest clip now :)
Apparently
To be fair of course the video was made in February :)
what are the rules for stealing home?
+princeofdarknessxyz1 there are no rules
+princeofdarknessxyz1 none sreal when ever when the pitchers not looking
1:33 I love that one, the straight up steal of home.
Thanks for the compilation. But most of these were double steals, or one very wild pitch. A straight steal of home is one of the rarest things we see, which is part of the reason it's the most exciting play, in my opinion.
Yea, it hardly ever happens, but, when it does, it is one of the most exciting plays in baseball.
In my opinion, it's the best play in baseball.
+Ryan Nolan agreed. i don't think there is a better feeling than stealing home right underneath the pitcher's nose.
+ProYagu I agree, unfortunately stealing, bunting, and "small ball" is now a lost art in baseball.
Ryan Nolan Plenty of bunts still happen, mostly by pitchers though. Granted, I'm a Pirates fan, so small ball is still alive and well for me.
+ProYagu sure, it's just not nearly as prevalent as it used to be. Unfortunately now it's just about the long ball. Look at what A LOT of teams do now with the "shift." There is no one on the left side of second base, all because most of the power hitters can't even hit to the opposite field to save their life, which is a shame. You NEVER saw something like that even 15 years ago. Pull pull pull, that's all they can do!
I'm a little late, but my favorite play in baseball is someone beating a lefty-pull shift by bunting it down the third base line. Stealing home is pretty darn cool though.
Harper stole home on a team he’d be on in the future kinda crazy
RealOne1 let’s be honest though Harper was better then than now especially with his attitude he just got ejected
So did Villar, he plays for the Orioles now
what was so classic about the play with no audio ? looked just like the other steal of home when the pitcher was asleep ....
Awesome vid dude.... As a left handed pitcher years ago I had a guy do that to me stealing home..... Not a good feeling.
swordfish00007 thanks
No Billy Hamilton?
0:23 Major League final game?
Jason Werth should be on here. His strategy was brilliant
Saving the best for last. I remember watching him play in high school. Fast as they come!!
Last one was the best.
I'm a Yankees fan but I gotta say that Ellsbury steal was dirt nasty.
Brian Fulda who do you hate more the Mets or Red Sox's
jennifer nice ellsbury and the Yankees 2004
SHYBA Doorley we have red sucks more
That last one was awesome
Thanks
No problem
Bryce your videos are great keep it up. Btw whats your favorite team
Thanks. I play in a 48+ fast pitch league and I still have speed. This year, I am hoping to try to do a straight steal of home. I mean, why not at my age? I'll let you know what happens.
Frankly Frank how did it go?
Jacob Van R.I.P. Frankly Frank
Its been 2 years man HOW DID IT GO
Frankly Frank did it happen
how bout the vid of jakie Robinson stealing home
I couldn't find a good quality video of it
+Bryce Nickerson Good answer.

young_kid_bro 1738 If there were video back then Ty Cobb would dominate this reel
Tekoero rramo
Love it I stole home to win this summer best rush I have ever felt!
My friend jumped over the catcher at our softball game and got us a point it was awesome!
A point????????????? ROFLMAO ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Where's Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez?
+PigMaster lol (sandlot)
brainypig playing golf XD JK
I thought it was people actually stealing houses
I guess we've all seen Jackie Robinson's straight steal on Whitey Ford in the 1955 World Series. It's still an all-time highlight, and Yogi was probably right. But what a daring move by Robinson, who timed the play exquisitely.
Villar, Harper, Visquel and Andrus were true steals. The last one is just sick.
Cant believe u made 4 grand off this video miss u lol
RacinReese bro I wish I made 4 grand but all the money goes to mlb
RacinReese Bro I wish I made 4K of this video but all the money goes to mlb
pass balls and wild pitches are not stealing home
ikr that's exactly what I was thinking too.
It is technically but it's not impressive
Ethan Rolfe
it is not technically, can't steal something that is given to you
+TOMMY GUNN not always a given. There's a chance that you can get out.
Ethan Rolfe
true, but it is not credited as a steal
Nice compilation video Bryce!
Thanks , I appreciate it
I've been looking for the other 2 by Omar Vizquel, especially one as an Indian where there was no throw home. Any help anyone?
OK..so you supposedly had to add the last one because it was a classic. That doesn't mean you had to add annoying music to it. There is nothing wrong with some silence in a video. Always MUCH better than really loud annoying "I will always be a virgin" music.
Most of these arent really stealing home lol
They're all stealing home
chaosawaits probably talkin straight steals. Not getting into a rundown then goin when they look away
ijustwannago Fast yup
ijustwannago Fast that's stealing still,no baseball knowledge. -smart- _dumb_
Thunder 101 never said it wasnt dumbass 😂😂😂😂
The clip of Villar, Andrus, and Vizquel is how u REALLY steal home.
1:56 OMG! Did that really happen? I never even dreamed you could do that! WTF was the pitcher thinking?
3:13 cmon I could do that
You obviously haven't played at a high enough level to understand when you are pitching and you see while in your motion that someone's stealing, you're trying to get it in there instead of controlling yourself. Twice last season I hit 2 people when they were doing bunt squizes because you're jus trying to get it in.
aidan farida me 2 a play
Last season in baseball I stole home 16 times in 12 games.
That's a lot of pass balls
Thomas O'Koniewski surprising
When I was a kid playing ball, our best defense against a first and third double steal was for the catcher to throw the ball low and hard to the second baseman, but have the pitcher cut the ball off and throw it back to the catcher, nailing the runner at home. It worked all the time. I only saw it tried once at the major league level and it worked then, also. I don't know why they either fake the throw, or throw down to second most of the time, neither of which work, almost ever. Plus, if you used the pitcher-cut off play once or twice, and it gets around the league, the pitcher can FAKE the cut-off, which makes the guy on third hold his ground, and you still have a chance for the runner at second.
What was the song at the end? Great compilation by the way
Freedom by Harem Scarem , I recommend go checking them out and thanks
Thumbs down for the ef'd up music at the end. I would rather hear NOTHING!
I like the straight steals the best though any steal of home is usually a heads up play. I particularly like the Villar steal. I'd like to see some videos of Rod Carew stealing home.
I recommend you do a Stealing signs compilation to compliment your excellent SHC.
Fun idea..... a right-handed batter (who knows the steal is on), purposely misses a bunt, but doesn't move and instead kind of opens his legs for the runner to slide through. The catcher would have a hell of a time trying to tag him out around the batter........ LOL
Loved this video keep it up!
The best one was Elvis with the straight steal against a RIGHT hander.
Name of song and band at the end please
Cubs last walk off wild pitch needs to be on here as long as the tie wild pitch this week.
The 'Straight Steal of Home' is indeed a lost art. Maybe the most famous was Jackie Robinson with Brooklyn Dodgers stealing home during the 1955(?) World Series in YankeeStadium-I recall the replays showing Yogi Berra going into a tirade because he was called safe-he looked out to me. But the greatest was Rod Carew-he had 7 in 1969.
Nice play and it was funny when the man
said is you sure that guy is 16.
3:47 Is the most ridiculous!! xD! He was spleepy
Nice collection 👌👌⚾️⚾️🏆🏆
1 min 56 sec..."this is a wookiee against the left handed pitcher" lol
Jesus the last one was how you steal home plate! He just out run the pitch!
MLB is really going to miss the K.C. Royals team of the past few years in 2018. Their style of play epitomized the "small ball" approach that every sports radio caller and host lovingly eulogizes 24/7, 7 months of every year, across this Nation. Gonna miss that intensity.
(I say this not as a Royals fan, just another distant admirer).
From MLB.com: "However, if he was attempting to steal as a wild pitch/passed ball was thrown, he is generally given credit for it." I like this. If the runner starts before the he knows it's a wild pitch or passed ball, give him credit for the steal. Although it does say, "generally," so that probably means there's some allowance for the scorekeeper to say he wouldn't have been anywhere close to succeeding, and so score it a WP or PB.
Clip number 2 is a classic suicide squeeze play to get a single run on a bunt
This would be a better compilation if it didn't include all the run downs and double steals, and if more classic steals of home were included
Ty Cobb holds the major league career record of 54 steals of home. He also holds the A.L record of stealing 2nd, 3rd
and home 4 times. Babe Ruth stole home 10 times. The N.L. career record is 33 by the Pirates Max Carey. When Pete
Reiser of the Dodgers wasn't running face first into walls he was pretty adept at stealing home. He holds the single season
record with 7 steals of home in 1946.
For the last steal, you could swap in the song, "Coming Home" by diddy and Skylar Grey alternatively.
"Just the way they practiced it before the game." I love when sportscasters can be that smart, that fast.
I think it is safe to say that when someone hears the term "stealing home" they are thinking of what is a "suicide" steal, where there is no other play involved preceding the runner breaks home from third (such as after a pick off move, etc.). With that being clarified, the only "true" (suicide) steals of home in this clip are at 1:35, 3:48, 4:28 and the final segment at 4:47.
Should be called "Jacoby Ellsbury Compilation" :^)
Escobar's steal of home was the best I've ever seen. No matter how many times I see it, still amazed. I'm not even a kc fan
