  • I've had a number of people asking me about the Four Dog Stove series of the Bushcooker LT backpacking stoves. Unfortunately they are a little out of my price range so I've not had the chance to try any of them. The Ninjak3k kindly lent me his Bushcooker LT II kit to play with for a while.
His Bushcooker LT II kit consists of:
Fourdog Bushcooker Lt II Titanium, Multi-Fuel Backpacking stove
    Titanium wind screen
    Snow Peak 900 Titanium pot
    and a cozy (sorta)
The first boil test is done using methanol. The info sheets with the stove said that the "Rule of thumb" was that 16 oz. of water, using 3/4 ounce of alcohol, will come to a boil in 6-8 minutes. Not exactly the results I got but maybe I did something wrong.
For more info of the Fourdog Bushcooker Lt II Multi-Fuel Backpacking stove use the following link:

Thank you Ninjak3k for the use of your kit,
And thank you for watching my video,
    Hiram

They now come with a trangia that’s sits inside if you want to cook with alcohol. Your assumption was correct that the lid was for starting wood with alcohol. They also come with an attached bottom that catches ash and protects fins.

You can try putting the mini Trangia into the bushcooker, then light it inside. Worth a try.

Try a Trail Designs Trigger-Ti or Sidewinder stove with the woodburning Inferno insert. THE best wood burner stoves made.

@MrHiramCook I mean, my comment may be rude. But I meant, that at least it has a sweet new cozy going for it. Like a joke sorta. I have a hard time making my text have a laughing or just joking around tone to it. It sucks for me. You're the absolute best though.

Honestly thinking, I've watch FDS's tout vids about this cooker. He boasts of it burning any bio-fuel. Is it possible this small alcohol pan would be intended for starting coal or charcoal?

Scott Jackson yeah i think its more of a starter for wood, i was watching some videos last night and the one i saw him use alcohol he added wood to it.
thats what if probably do with it.
i usually carry a tea light candle tin and use it under alot of my twig stoves to start it easy.
