Economics isn't being taught in schools. I was raised to save up my money for what I wanted. I've only had one credit card my entire life and it was a gasoline card .
That was when savings accounts gave 10% yearly. That was the original passive income!

Banks today are too complicated to understand. Banks used to be more transparent they’d have a sign saying what interest get for savings and what interest you can borrow at.
Example: Savings 6%, Debentures 8%.
Show me a bank today that makes it clear as this what their cut is on the money. None exist, every bank is very complex now with how they profit off your money. Here they’re taking a 2% cut between the two. No wonder people shy away from trying to understand money today.

Massive government spending is added to GDP. That is the reason we are still positive. Take out the billions the government spends every month and GDP is basically flat.

Completely agree. Real inflation is somewhere from 25 to 200%. When you’re paying double and triple for everything you need not what you want, that’s 200 to 300%.

Not if you're at full 100% social security benefits usually from age 65 to 68 depending on your age of eligibility. The main issue is can you handle working fulltime at that age? Those who blame Biden for inflation have no business commenting on finance. The whole world is experiencing inflation, perhaps you've heard of COVID-19? Inflation doesn't occur in a matter of a couple years, economic change takes several years. Trump devalued the dollar by giving all the COVID aid, not that the aid was entirely bad, but it drove prices up across the board. The trend is merely continuing. Companies are posting record profits. Blame good old, simple American greed.

Which state do you live in? Unless you live in Florida and Texas where there is high demand for housing causing prices to sky rocket. I don't believe you that everything doubled and tripped. Maybe some high demand items but not everything. Depends where you are buying. Overall inflation is up 18% since Joe Biden took office per Fox. So to say you are paying 200% more would lead to a much bigger uproar from everyone so you must be exaggerating. You are also taking Advice from the very rich Kevin who stated that housing markets would fix themselves and that the government shouldn't interfere in Wall Street buying up single family homes and renting them as investments.

Here's my point of view as someone whose worked in manufacturing the government/ shareholders/unions are the problems along with the corporate mentality of there's no profit in a quality long lasting product. As a self employed consumer it's aggravating that heavy equipment dealers are beginning to refuse to work on anything 10 years old and then changing the designs and eliminating parts to fix equipment.
I couldn't agree more. If we made products like we did many years ago. We would have more money on our bank accounts. Washers and dryers that lasted many years. In today's world, consumers buy multiple appliances over and over again. Nothing last due to poor quality and engineering by design.
Look at the number of banks closing, so how are people supposed to get money to keep business going.
That money doesn't just go away. You can get your money out just fine.
Those so-called better-than-expected economic numbers are bogus. Creating dollars out of thin air for government to spend will make it appear as if there is growth. However, there is no new value being created. It's only making the dollar worth less. It's making prices increase i.e. inflation. It's causing consumers to spend more for less, much of it also being borrowed. Job numbers are meaningless as the equations aren't factoring the millions of new illegals pouring over the border. Not to mention, they don't even use the same methodology for calculating unemployment that had been used in the past. All the "growth" is going to special interests and the wealthy, and is being taken out of the hands of the working class

When you factor in the real inflation numbers the economy if far worse off than it looks.

I paid $42 for a gallon of paint (120 oz - not a full 128 oz) at Home Depot today. That is ridiculous. If it wasn't already mixed, l would have left it. Last time I bought paint it was plus or minus $20

Where does distressed sales enter this picture. Such sales as car repossessions and housing foreclosures . The public auction of business, some of the industrial auctions can sell millions of dollars of machinery and inventory stock. I often drive by a large auction company and there lot if totally full of construction equipment and assorted trucking equipment that is more than a 100 acres. Are these distressed sales included in there made up figures.
