Thank you for properly appreciating that Live-Felix-to-Comic-Book-Felix transition, that is one of my fave transitions I've ever seen and so many reactors miss it or don't comment on it! (My other fave transition in this MV is, predictably, the eagle swoop.) Really enjoyed your breakdown of the effects in this MV, that's the kind of content I love to see. Other Stray Kids videos I'd recommend are God's Menu (more awesome transitions), Freeze (very cinematic) and Give Me Your TMI (so many fun special effects!).

  • @Jirou0325
    @Jirou0325 Рік тому +72

Yes!!! Stray Kids are amazing, and even more when you know they are completely self-produced. They have a producer sub group named 3RACHA (read as Three Racha) which consists of three of the members: Bang Chan or Christopher (the leader, at 3:21), Han Jisung (7:13) and Seo Changbin (0:53). The other two sub groups are Danceracha with Felix (10:37), Lee Know (4:33) and Hyunjin (7:00), and Vocalracha with Seungmin (9:16) and Jeongin or I.N (7:53). Even though they are divided like this, they don't have a fixed position and they all sing well, rap well and are sometimes center in dance breaks.
3RACHA always composes, mixes and overall produces the totality of their songs unless other members contribute to it, with little exceptions like when they collaborate with other producers like Versachoi. The dance line also helps with the elaboration of choreographies.
I think that the most requested reactions will be Venom, Back Door, Maniac and The Sound. I totally agree, and I would like to add Red Lights, Easy and Christmas EveL for starters. But they have so much variety in their music and experiment so much with so many genres that I think that their whole discography is worth checking out even outside of reactions, because some really good songs like Charmer don't have a music video.
I also wanted to say that I love when editors get excited at well made music videos, and I love to learn a bit more about editing techniques with each explanation. Thank you for reacting to this group!

    The storyline is this:
They are goblin type things from Korean folklore (not quite goblins but that’s the closest English word)
Blue fire is a symbol of those creatures, who are known to be mischief makers.
And of course , they are the thunderous ones :)
The thunder is actually just saying they’re noisy haha

Thank you for reacting to Stray Kids! One thing I'll say is to please be mindful in regards to referring to aspects of the set or props as "Japanese" or "Chinese"--while sometimes kpop groups do reference other cultures and there are similarities between the cultures, this video is heavily referencing traditional Korean culture, history, and folklore :)

Stray Kids have such spirit and it’s reflected in the support that JYPE’s ( their company) Division 1 (the creative team) and their pool of Directors that Stay ( the fandom ) like myself are forever spoiled ( in a wonderful way) !
This particular video represents a clap back against haters yes but also is a visual representation of the Korean culture. The music brings in many of the traditional instruments of Korea and the ‘sets’ are actually locations within one National monuments around the nation , as well as , the mythology of the goblins ( a sometimes playful creature which can bring either good or bad to people on earth - the animation at the beginning was their looking down an deciding to come down to earth).
Thank you for appreciating the hard work which goes into their video and for reacting to them.
Stay will always happily answer any questions you may have about their body of work.
Please also look at ‘Winter Falls’ a slower paced song of theirs.

Also sokikkun (songs experts) are like "bards" that used to travel from town to town performing songs in a way that was said to be experts or masters of singing.

1)No matter what other people say, “Thunderous” is my favorite song and favorite MV of all time from StrayKids. I still remember when this MV came out. It shook me to my core and gave me the shock of viewing something so phenomenally new.
2)It’s a ‘Korean Lion dance’. Not ‘Chinese dragon dance’. All background buildings are real old Korean palace and real old buildings from ‘MinSokChon’, an out-door museum. Not Japanese’. Koreans hate when people calling theirs ‘Chinese this-‘ and ‘Japanese that-‘. Because we have the unique culture of our own for last 5,000 years. We hate people diluting our culture.

this is more than just a response to haters. the whole album is... uh... A lot of haters said that their music is just noise. And this album, that includes "thunderous", is called "noeasy", but on the cover, the part where the letters "e" and "a", is more transparent and "noisy" stands out brightly, so yes, the guys are sooo talented~
about smooth camera transition, yes, they mostly use robotic cameras~
and mv, to which you can react... i really like mv to Give me your TMI, All In, Circus, Freeze, Scars and Easy**
Also you can watch their Kingdom perfomances, it's not mv and do not have the same quality level, but also have interesting transitions, and perfomances are very good itself~

Apart from MVs, which are all awesome and many have already been suggest which I also highly recommend, there are also the album trailer videos which are fun cinematic videos to introduce the album for their comeback. The first one I suggest seeing would be their ‘Noeasy’ trailer (for the Noeasy album, which is an album full of clap backs to haters calling their music noise music, which they have totally embraced. Thunderous was the title track for this album). Then ‘Oddinary trailer’ (there is a teaser trailer and then the main trailer, you could skip the teaser trailer if you wanted but there it’s also fine to watch both) the title song is Maniac. They also had a ‘Maxident trailer’ for which the title song was Case 143.
All of their MV’s have making videos so you could see how they filmed each mv that you watch, they include fun challenges for the boys to do whilst they wait to film so it’s also a great way to get to know the members a little more too.

"Thunderous" is a diss track, a clapback at the haters who sneer at Stray Kids' so-called "noise music".
Thunderous", about shutting the haters and anti's down, because they don't need to be great. And that Suttle movement with the bent arms, are them Laughing at All of the Haters.
They're saying that they're going to keep experimenting and making the music they want to make, no matter what people say about them.
Now, all of this is actually a parallel to Stray Kids real life story. When they debuted they weren't that much successful. And during all their career they've been heavily criticized for the different sound they bring to kpop. They are just too different for society to like them. This didn't stop them, and after "God's Menu" they've managed to grow a lot, therefore transforming themselves in real life Sorikkun "Thunderous".

Thunderous is from the NOEASY album, and the album design is very interesting because the whiter parts of the design in "NOEASY" are "NOISY". I think the reason why is because Stray Kids have been said that their music is too loud and noisy and some haters specifically hate on how their music isnt like most kpop songs and are 'too loud'. The lyrics in Thunderous also show how Stray Kids are saying that they don't care about how the haters say about them or their music and that they're special and unique and 'they don't play by the rules'. Its like saying "yeah, im different. So what?" There is another song in the album called "CHEESE" and i think it is mainly just calling out the haters who hated on the title track "God's Menu" of their previous album "Go生". But instead of harsh dissing on the haters, the song is about them thinking its funny what the haters have to say. Stray Kids music just convey so much meaning and messages in their songs i think it's really fascinating to see them produce amazing songs, dances and music videos. Truly one of the best kpop groups there is. NOEASY is one of my favourite albums and i discover new meanings to their songs everytime becaue of the depth of their lyrics, its incredible! I can't wait to see more Stray Kids content on your channel!

1:39 yeah so why there is a sort of Japanese vibe is because the Korean title of ‘Thunderous’ is ‘소리꾼‘ which is the pure Korean(pure means that it doesn’t incorporate any old Korean hanja which was inspired by Chinese letters) word for ‘Musician’. Because they chose to use a pure Korean title, the whole theme of the song and music video was traditional Korean references like the set and costumes, and also some of the lyrics. Old Korean architecture or just anything in general were very similar (though they have clear differences) to other south-east Asian cultures like Japan or China.

You're actually correct about the song being about the haters. They chose the title 'thunderous' because they have been criticized in the past for their music by haters (their songs were often called or described as 'noisy', thus their album being named as noisy/noeasy), the korean title for the song actually refers to a pansori singer (korean traditional music) which was reflected a lot in this MV with changbin's rap, the korean traditional instruments, etc.
Just additional info, cause I love stray kids, and am passionate about anything that has something to do with them - the concept of the MV is korean goblins where they are often accompanied by blue flames (I'm guessing that it is inspired by the korean folk tale about a woodcutter, goblins and thunder). During felix's part, where they stand on one leg and this refers to a type of korean goblins that were often said to be one legged.

    Him: "Then thunder comes down..."
    Me: "Lightning."
Him: "Then they add the thunder, the flash..."
Me: "Awe, I'm glad he likes them.... That's still lightning though."
You're personality seems incredibly endearing, I do hope you keep foing with SKZ. You have countless other videos to watch, many of which would shock you... kinda like lightning. 🙃 Sorry! I couldn't help it. 😊 Speaking of... So, they are the thunder that comes with the lightning. And although thunder is quite loud, they also bring with them that immense power. Because thunder is a precursor to lightning, in other words... the noise is just a tiny bit of who and what they are. It's incredibly true too, the amount of music within their discography that can be considered as being "loud" is limited to their title tracks.
People may hate on SKZ, but those very people are still talking and thinking about SKZ in order to do so. Which means that it worked... their decision to put their most intense tracks at the forefront of their albums. It may have made some people think their overall sound is too controversial... sure. However, it's obvious those haters haven't taken the time to listen to anything past their title tracks, so.... honestly who cares what they think. Lol
Nope, Stray Kids aren't about trying to make the general public care about them. Those people will drop you the moment you fail to catter to them, and your group will lose everything. Because that's what they want if you disappoint them, all so they can show the K-pop groups just how powerful they are. So stray kids devised a way to make sure that if you are part of the fanbase that supports them by streaming, attending, concerts, or buying albums... then you are there because you either like their noisy side, or because you cared enough about them to venture deeper into their music to discover their many other sides.
At the same time, using this method gave them the "Underdog who prefers herding Back Sheep" kind of image, which not only set them apart as one of the only "Noise Music" groups to truly make it to the forefront of such a cutthroat industry and do so in an incredibly MASSIVE way... But also to do so while staying true to who they are and the music they want to make. Not some company constructed concept and discography, that was built to appease the general public. Which is a listener base that is massive in number, but non-existent in loyalty. While, consequently, disappointing the very people who would have actually cared about them enough to have given them a loyal fandom.
So yeah, they are who they are, but it's those very attributes that gave them all that they have now. So... yes, they are the thunder, because they and their music can definitely be noisy. Which, they decided there's no shame in simply owning outright... That's why this title track is on an album called "Noeasy". It's just some fun wordplay, but it has a much deeper meaning. When said quickly, or by an Australian (2 members, including the leader, are in fact Australian), it sounds as though your saying "Noisy". However, its also their clever way of stating that it's not easy to be them, and that there is a hell of a lot of depth to SKZ as well as their music. Well, if anyone should care to look, that is.
The whole album is covered in tracks that cleverly diss the haters. All while spanning MANY genres and sub-genres, including some beautiful indie-alternative ballads. Stray Kids are amazing artists, yet they themselves are nothing short of beautiful art... Oh yeah, and nothing in the MV is a part of Chinese culture. Lol , it's all traditionally Korean in its anesthetics... Even the composition, production and arrangement of the track was done using traditional Koreans aspects, including much of the instrumentation. In fact, the lyrics themselves tie into the MV... As both are done from the perspective of traditional Korean storytelling.

About stray kids (I've always wanted to do that 🥹 so it's gonna be long)
Okay so first things first: they debuted on March 25 2018 under JYP entertainment as a experimental group. Meaning JYP didn't choose the members for the group but Bang Chan the now leader did.
JYP trusted Chan enough to create a group, to train them, build something with them to then compete with a group chosen by JYP in the show "Stray Kids"
Obviously they won and then got to debut. Chan built everything himself. He chose the members, created the Logo, decided basically everything. Stray Kids is not JYP's group, it belongs to Chan. Quite literally because we have the Subunit
    3RACHA:
3RACHA was created before Straykids. The unit consists of the Members Chan, Changbin and Han. With this group they write and compose ALL of their songs. Every single song of them is copyrighted by 3RACHA, meaning that it really belongs TO THEM.
3RACHA was first formed to perform a little before they created the group. Later on they had Stray Kids with the subunit.
These three are composers, producers, songwriters, you get it.
Every member is a Rapper and Vocalist, some focus more on rapping, others on their vocals.
Their debut album is called I AM NOT and was released March 26 2018.
They have many comebacks, let alone last year we had ODDINARY, MAXIDENT and the SKZ replay.
    They have many things planned.
Fandom Name: STAY official colours: Rainbow 🌈 (that's what Changbin said haha)
    Now onto the members.
    BANG CHAN:
His full name in Korea is Bang Chan. Chan is the oldest of Günther group as well as the leader. He was born in South Korea October 3 1997 and later on moved to Sydney where he spent most of his childhood and teenage years.
He joined JYP entertainment in 2010 after deciding he wanted to be an idol where he spent 7 years of training (it was quite lonely for him :(( but then he found Han haha)
He is the Leader, producer, vocalist, rapper and dancer in the group and says he's 182cm tall when he's most definitely not 😂 he's 171cm.
Anyways, his representative animal is the wolf 🐺 which is why his SKZOO (some kind of Merch plush) is called WolfChan.
Chan LOVES making music which is why he's working so much. He produced Venom (a song from ODDINARY) back in 2020 and it was released last year in March.
So you can guess that he loves what he's doing. SKZ is his greatest work, his greatest possession and he treasures it and the members so much.
    English Name: Christopher Chan
UNIT: 3RACHA Stage Name: CB 97
    For family stuff:
He has a younger sister Hannah (2004) and a younger brother Lucas (2006) and his parents and a sweet dog Berry. They live in Australia.
    LEE KNOW:
His full name is Lee Minho. Stage Name Lee Know. Lee Know is the second oldest born October 25 1998 in Gimpo South Korea. He lived his whole life there and has been dancing for years now. He used to be a backup dancer for BTS, so he's very professional in dancing.
In SKZ he is a Dancer, Vocalist and Rapper. He also created many of their Choreographies and in their pre-debut days taught Felix Korean and the other members to dance. When he came to JYP he was a trainee for 1 year and then debuted in SKZ.
His representative animal is a rabbit 🐰 his SKZOO is called LeeBit.
He talks basic English but seems to understand better than speaking it.
His probably 3 "things" in his life he treasures the most are his three cats Soonie, Doongi and Dori. On Bubble (an App from JYP where they can interact with fans) he often sends pictures and videos of his cats, he really loves them. Oh and he's ambidextrous :D
English Name: apparently Rhino and idk why
    UNIT: DanceRacha
Family: as I said, three cats and his parents, he's an only child.
During the survival Show Stray Kids he was eliminated by JYP, which was pretty stupid cause JYP later said he basically did all that fro some drama (sooo for no fuxking reason???) yeah anyways he came back in later episodes and here we are.
    CHANGBIN:
Changbin is the third oldest being born August 11 1999 in Yongin South Korea. His full name is Seo Changbin.
He also lived his whole life in Korea. He trained for 2 years. Changbin is the tallest member of SKZ, he's 2m tall (he's 167cm but he's 2m) and calls himself "Dark Rapper Changbin" (he's a big softie, we love him)
His representative animal is the Pabbit or Dwaekki, a mix of a Pig and a Rabbit. His SKZOO is called Dwaekki. 🐷🐰
Changbin is a Rapper, Producer and Vocalist. His specialities are writing lyrics and rap. Together with Chan and Han he produces their songs.
He helped Felix to adapt when he came to Korea and tried his best speaking English with him although it was still a very foreign language for him.
We sometimes call him rich kid cause that man has a damn Chandelier at home and a fuxking marble floor.
His passion of passions is working out, this man has guns, BRO. He really likes working out and loves to show STAY his progress. And when he laughs I think the world heals a little, he's such a sweetheart.
English Name: ✨Bartholomew✨ (CHRIS HELPED CHOOSING NAMES!!!?) but I think his now English name is Lewis, which suits him so well
    UNIT: 3RACHA stage Name: SPEARB
Family: his parents and an older sister.
    HYUNJIN:
Hwang Hyunjin, the last member of the Hyung Line was born March 20 2000 in Seoul South Korea. He lived most of his life in Korea but for a while he lived in Las Vegas.
Hyunjin is a Dancer, Rapper, Vocalist and also a Visual.
He got casted for JYP when he was shopping with his mom in 2015 and then joined JYP.
He also almost got abducted to a cult.
Hyunjin speaks basic English and also writes some songs.
His representative animal is a Llama or a Ferret but his representative emoji a dumpling 🥟 cause there's not Llama or Ferret emoji. His SKZOO is called Jiniret.
He loves painting and art and he's really talented. On bubble he sends sometimes pictures of his new artworks and he gets better and better every time. H elites to draw flowers. Hyunjin is a very passionate person and loves what he's doing. He does what he enjoys.
    English Name: Sam Hwang
    UNIT: DanceRacha
Family: His parents, only Child and his dog Kkami. He had another dog Kkomi before but he sadly passed away.
    HAN:
His full name is Han Jisung and heras born September 14 2000 in Incheon Korea.
He used to live in Malaysia and went to an International school where he almost got eaten by a crocodile.
He's also a Rpapper, Vocalist and Producer and writes MANY songs. He loves writing songs since he can put his emotions and thoughts in there so well.
STAY love his songs, because many relate with him. He has a great way of choosing his words.
His representative animal is the Quokka, and his SKZOO is called HanQuokka. He has very fluffy cheeks and we all love them. He is sometimes called Squirrel because of them. 🐿️
He also plays the guitar and piano. he joined JYP and trained for 3 years. Han is also the first member chosen by Chan. And right after cam Changbin, so they formed 3RACHA.
    English Name: Peter Han
    UNIT: 3RACHA stage name: J.ONE
Family: his parents and an older brother, plus his Puppy Bbama.
    FELIX:
Felix was born on September 15 2000 and raised in Sydney. He lived most of his life there before he decided auditioned for JYP when he heard of them (I believe they were in Sydney that time). He came to Korea in 2017 and had a hard time adapting at first since he didn't speak the language. Chan talked with him in English and Lee Know was his Korean teacher.
Felix is a dancer, rapper and vocalist and most known for his deep voice. He can sing also very high pitched though.
His representative animal is a Chick 🐣and his SKZOO is called Bbokkari.
He also was eliminated dripping the survival show because "his Korean wasn't good enough" (I wonder why when JYP first eliminated his Korean teacher but oh well)
As well as Han he can play the piano.
Back in Australia he did Taekwondo for 12 years and now he also loves gaming.
English Name: Felix Lee, Korean Name: Lee Yongbok
    UNIT: DanceRacha
Family: his parents, older sister Rachel, younger sister Olivia
    SEUNGMIN:
Kim Seungmin the second youngest was born September 22 2000 in Seoul.
He is a vocalist and joined JYP in 2017 after winning second place in one of JYPE's open auditions.
Seungmin lived in LA for 3 months and speaks English very well.
also a helicopter crashed into his apartment once and he then just went to school. 💀
Chan and Him went to the same HighSchool and Chan was his senior there.
Seungmin loves playing baseball and wanted to be a baseball player when he was young. if he weren't in SKZ he would.d be a photographer or prosecutor now.
His representative animal is a dog and his SKZOO is called PuppyM. 🐶
He barely eyes his hair, it's more like 50 Shades of brown.
He had red once though and now his Bangs are coloured.
    English Name: Sky Kim.
    UNIT: Vocalracha
Family: his parents and an older sister
    I.N. :
Yang Jeongin is the youngest member, the Maknae, of SKZ born on February 8 2001 in Busan.
He is just like Seungmin a Vocalist and trained for 2 years before debuting.
His representative animal is a fennec fox and his SKZOO is called Fox.Iny 🦊
This guy wanted to be a priest when he was younger.
And just like Hyunjin he got almost abducted into a cult.
Jeongin is really fast and has a great voice.
When he was still in School Hyunjin was his senior and they spent a lot of time together. Hyunjin wanted to change Jeongin's last name to Hwang so everyone could see they're brothers.
They now still act very brotherly.
Jeongin is really good at singing trot and STAY still hopes we'll get trot songs from him in the future. He also plays the piano.
When he was 7 he was a child model.
    English Name: Bob Yang.
    UNIT: Vocalracha
Family: his parents and an older and a younger brother.

STRAY KIDS are a family, they depend on each other and love each other dearly. I think especially Chan has found something that he will never let go.
I've never seen a group like them, not only that they produce, compose and write like 99.9% of their songs themselves but also the way they treat each other.
It's really sweet to look at them and they've grown so so much. They have STAY beside them and they have each other.
As for songs you could react to:
      - Freeze (ODDINARY)
      - the ODDINARY trailer itself
      -NOEASY trailer
      - Alien (Han)
      - Volcano (Han)
      - Super Board (Album: MAXIDENT)
      - I'll be your man (Kingdom LEGENDARY WAR)
      - basically any Kingsom performance by SKZ
      - Maniac (ODDINARY)
      - Side Effects (SKZ2020)
      - The Sound (THE SOUND)
      - 3RACHA (MAXIDENT)
      - Chronosaurus (SKZ2020)
Idk YT didn't want to let me add that last part but OKAY.
Anyways, that's like the first stuff that came to mind, there is SO much more to tell but meeehhh... 😂

The thing about SKZ lore is that it's so confusing. We have SKZ, the original Stray Kids and then we have clones and clones. You've probably seen in Case 143. they're meeting each other all the time.
And in the NOEASY trailer and also during this MV we can see the powers you mentioned. I'm not sure about it but I think in this MV they're the clones cause SKZ themselves don't have powers. And that part 4:34 is where Lee Know summons the rest of the members.
They're always followed by the blue stuff, they have it.
Tbh I have no fucking clue about SKZverse cause it's SO confusing, one great story throughout the years, so many details since day 1. idk how they do it and I'm convinced SKZ themselves don't know anymore what's going on. But it's amazing , seriously.
Loved your reaction to them, I always enjoy people watch their MVs cause the reactions are always great, the analysing of their videos, editing is just fun to see because as someone who loves them sooo much it's sweet to see people have a similar reaction to yourself.
