    For the Dutch people trying to make the same but having a hard time figuring out what Primrose oil in Dutch is: Teunisbloemolie :) (had to look it up, thought I'd share the knowledge)

      Blij te helpen! Ik moet nog even wachten ivm een verhuizing, maar als ik de kans heb ga ik ook aan het brouwen.
      Is al iemand in NL succesvol geslaagd hier in? (Gewoon nieuwschierig 😄)

    Yes! As an Indian girl I grew up with hair oils being imperative to self care, I’m pretty sure they talk about it in ancient aryuvedic texts haha. My grandmother who is 95 has put castor oil in her hair her entire life, leaving it in and putting it in a braid to let it really soak in, and her hair is still so long and beautiful. Having my mother put coconut oil or even sesame oil in my hair is also something I cherish so thank you for this I never thought about making a balm for hair like this, seems a lot less messy even though I will still do the treatments I grew up with.

    Made this today with the scents lime and fig, absolutely wonderful! My straight, nordic type hair is joyous, we survived the harsh +2 degrees (celsius) winds outside while on a run ^^ Thank you Klaire! Also, am religiously using the fabulous facial water you showed a while ago (thyme and rosemary). Had to supplement with sage as I ran out of homegrown thyme, but worked equally well, so today I combine all three =) I have waaaay less blackheads and don't need to use skin cream/day cream at all anymore. THANK YOU For existing Klaire!!!!

    Castor oil is an absolute godsend for hair. Also, where did you get such a cute jar like that?

      It's amazing for skin too! I got the jar on eBay around 3 years ago. If you type bamboo lid glass jar you should be able to find it.

    I'll definitely try this out. My hair is as flat and straight as can be so it doesn't need anything more to weight it down further, but in the winter it does suffer a lil' bit without some additional help.

    I cannot get over how well your working through life! All the best klaire! be safe and be kind I may try this balm is it suitable for men’s hair too?

    • @KlairedeLysOfficial
      @KlairedeLysOfficial  3 роки тому +3

      Absolutely men can use it. I'm waiting for my husband to use up his hair wax gel so I can make a matte version of it for him. I'll try and do a video about that particular recipe (it's using a few extra ingredients) once I can make it.

    Nice... Inspired me to do the same although we don’t have winter here... but I just love the idea. How long did this balm last for you? Did you wash you hair everyday since you mentioned you applied it everyday..?

    • @KlairedeLysOfficial
      @KlairedeLysOfficial  3 роки тому +3

      I wash my hair once every 5 days or so.
      When I apply it I apply it very, VERY lightly or it all turns into an oil slick pretty quick, unless I want to do a hair treatment (which I do once every two weeks or so) and really work it into my hair from the roots to the ends, I'll do this in the morning and then wash it out that evening.
      I'll normally have used up the entire pot within 2-3 months.

    • @hamsterfan999
      @hamsterfan999 3 роки тому +1

      hand creams, lip creams, general skincare. lanolin in particular is amazing because its so similar to sebum, the natural oil excreted by our skin! if youd rather just stick to haircare though then just the pure castor oil on its own is perfect for hair

    Will you be growing out your hair for another donation? 😊

    • @KlairedeLysOfficial

      No, this time I'm growing it for me. I've already donated my hair three times. This time I want to keep it.
