I built the Tamiya RC166 a year ago, and it was my first motorcycle model.
I've been making motorcycle models ever since, and I've learned a lot of things, so this time I'll try to make them closer to the actual RC166 motorcycles.
I found a photo of an old man racer riding an RC165 on Pinterest.
Further investigation revealed that it was a motorcycle owned by Team Obsolete and that the rider's name was Dave Roper, a 74-year-old man born in 1948.
His greatest career accomplishment is being the first American racer to win the Isle of Man TT in 1984, and the only American racer to win the Senior Historic TT in the same year.
He started racing in 1972, and over the course of about half a century he has participated in 2,200 races at 115 circuits, including those in Japan.
he is a legend.
The atmosphere in that photo was great, so I wanted to try making one.

This kit allows you to assemble the best wheels without replacing spokes, so I don't think you need to do that.
Tamiya is very enthusiastic and sells a special wheelset separately, but I decided to simply replace the spokes for now.
But, to be honest, I don't think it's necessary with this kit.
Spokes: 0.3mm stainless steel spring wire
Nipple: 0.32mm wire sheath
It is easier to use electric wire sheathing for nipple sheathing than aluminum or brass pipe, and it can be assembled without worrying about the size of the spokes or nipples.

Added the omitted throttle related information regarding the 6-carburetor.
I also added a few wires.

Unfortunately, this bike uses braided hoses.
I will show you how to make it in a separate video, so if you are interested, please take a look.
figure doll
This is an action figure L size.
It's a female action figure, but I cut it down and made it into a male body.
For the face, I downloaded a bearded face from 3D materials and 3D printed it.
This is a paid material that can be used for commercial purposes and published.
Unlike today's racer jackets, racer jackets in the past were made of thick leather to protect themselves, so I was conscious of thick leather.
I've gotten used to scratching figures, but there are many challenges.
Iron base
I made an iron block from plastic board.
The stand was made from brass wire, so I think it would be nice if the texture of the iron would come out beautifully.
If you look like a lonely old rider, you've succeeded.
Tamiya's RC166 is the kit that taught me the joy of motorcycle modeling, so I would like to try it again in a year.
Next time I will make the Honda Super Cub
I'm thinking of making a version of the Japanese anime "Weathering with You."
This time as well, I will be listing it on Yahoo! Auctions in Japan.

I also want to make a model of an old British motorcycle.
Triumph and Norton big single or vertical twin motorcycles are great!
However, such a motorcycle model is not made, so it is very unfortunate and sad.

作品もショールームに展示されているような状態でなく『機械弄りが好きな人種』が関わって走らせている空気感がライダーの造形とともにありありと伝わる素晴らしいものですが、ここから更なる高みを目指すとなると何処まで進化していかれるのか震えてきます😵💫
ここをこうすれば良かったとか、ここ諦めてる、とか本人が1番よくわかっているので、それが無くなればもういいや、って思います。
次は、アニメに出てくるオートバイです。
小さめのジオラマにできればと思います。

the thing i love about this and most tamiya cycle kits is the shear amount of PE sets they make for detailing up. like the photo etch chain you could have put on would have given the kit even more zaz on the detail

初コメントです。毎回、技術に感服しております😅私もバイク、車を作っていますが、エッチングやレジンに頼ってしまい自作パーツはほんの少々。見習って自作パーツを増やし、出費を押えねばと思っています。パーツ製作もしっかり動画にされているので、とても参考になります。今は、タミヤのラ、フェラーリをアペルタに改造中です。
エッチングとかレジンを綺麗に取り付けるがとても大変なことを知っています。
綺麗に取り付けられると模型の出来栄えは自作パーツの比ではありません。
コストはかかりますが、完成した一品は見応えある宝物になると思います。
私は旧車専門でしたのでタミヤのラ、フェラーリを知らなかったのですが、いや、このフォルムを綺麗に仕上げるのはホコリ一本との戦いですね！
この模型に自作パーツは流石に躊躇します！

各所、金属パイプに置き換えている効果は絶大ですね！スポークはキレイにバリ取りすれば、キットのままでもリアルに出来そうですね。
はい、このキットはバリを取ればスポークの交換は不要です。そういう動画を作れば良かったと後悔しています。
シャフ類を金属にするのは一年前はできなかったので、ちょっと進歩したかなと思っています。
