I appreciate the “teaching” aspect of this. Most tutorials are like “use these materials, apply,, then color”. And they just show themselves doing it Sure some of them break it down sorta as they go. But they are very speedy and use a bunch of terminology that’s not exactly “newbie” friendly. Chill background music helps too. Overall a new fan man. Keep it up.
Dude, I'm honestly so happy to hear this. Sometimes I feel pressure to make my tutorials more quick/short/like you describe, but I REALLY want these to be accessible to folks who know zero about sculpting because sculpting can already be intimidating. But I don't think it has to be! So thank you so much ♥
@@ModernSynthesist I’ll be watching man. I’ve only gotten into the mini hobby since this past January. Lol ima need all the learning breakdowns I can get.
Came here from Eric's hobby workshop! I have made some tentative steps into sculpting and converting Tyranids in the past but you have definitely made we want to try some of your sculptong techniques and get back to the bugs. Thanks!
So happy to hear it! Like I said in the video, I honestly think Tyranids can be really easy to sculpt if someone gives you the right tips. So I endeavour to give those tips.
Great tip in leaving parts to cure before moving on... Nothing worse than working on a new part, then turning the model around to see your thumb print in the piece you just finished sculpting before. Found you through Eric's latest vid... new sub right here, looking forward to checking out your other vids. 👍
OH SWEET! Yeah, I might give this tip, but I learned it through screwing it up... OVER AND OVER. I still screw it up these days. I just get so excited to keep moving, and I wind up wasting a lot of effort. I even did it on the Screamer Killer in Eric's video! On the head veins!
These are honestly the comments I live for. Tyranids are meant to be infinitely mutable and evolving. I love to see that represented with original conversions!
@@ModernSynthesist thank you for the reply! If you are doing that for your next tutorial, should I pick up a set of silicone brushes? Seems super helpful
Saw you with Eric's hobby workshop love your stuff! I shall be using your techniques for my own Tyranids and my Exodite Eldar conversions! Thanks for your time, enthusiasm, and teaching! Hobby On and may fate be kind!
Great tutorial! Your putty looks so easy to manipulate as compared to just my green stuff. Is that the Apoxy doing it's work or is there a chance I got some old Green stuff I wonder.
Could be. Your yellow might also be going off through no fault of your own because if it sits too long in the plastic wrap it comes packaged in, the outside edge will start to become leathery. It's really a terrible side effect of the stock packaging. If you can afford it and there's a retailer near you, I recommend buying new stuff, separating it if it comes in tape form, and storing it in an Air tight GLASS container (because plastics can also off gas and cause the yellow to set prematurely!

Can't wait to see the other videos on tyranids. Let's go Hive Mind 🎉
Thanks! I plan to do more about my actual conversions, so you an look forward to that!
Yay for Terry,
Can't wait for the vents my weakness right now
Oh really? We can get that sorted definitely
Marvellous video, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much dude! This will help with my Ghidorah Tyrant!
Glad to hear it!
Hey man, where did you get the rubber sculpting tool you use for smoothing areas out?
Great tutorial, you do a really good job of explaining what to look for! Leviathan may get some conversions if i keep watching these. Thanks!

Great tutorial, was hopeful for how to sculpt the inner detail with the open vents on the hive tyrant/carnifex models
Trust that will be coming up next! It, too, is easy to do if someone shows you the ropes.

OOOH! EXODITE ELDAR! Have always loved those good boys from afar!

Sweet! Glad it was useful!
This will help me ALOT
Great! That's the goal!

@@ModernSynthesist thanks for the tip! I will give that a go. Do you suggest the same for milliput?
Can I ask where you got your glasses frames from they are 10/10
It's a French manufacturer... Sabine Be, I think? I've always wanted LOUD glasses, but they were tough to find.
can you give me a link to the green stuff
It really depends on where you live, John, but the best way if found to find Greenstuff retailers in my area is the Gale Force Nine website.
It's pronounced kite-en. Not chit-en
Yes thank you. I see you've consulted the official Phil Kelly pronunciation guide 🙄
Please, no clear gloves! Makes you hands look freaky!
You, of course, being an expert on freaky hands!
They're the only gloves I've got!
