I like this guy, He talks to you and not at you like were all dummy's. I'm brand new to this world I'm sure it will be very fun and learning new tricks all is good. Thank you for you time to make this video.
Of all the videos this is the only one were the guy doesn't try to show us how much he knows. he is showing exactly what you need to know as a beginner, thank you very much,
You explain things extremely well, and with a clear voice and not rushed. Excellent add-ons showing how it looks in the scope as well. Keep up the good work! Subscribed.
I use a Sky-Watcher telescope and this tutorial was really helpful! When I first got it, I couldn’t find Venus through my main eyepiece. I looked for days, trying to find a video explaining how this works. You’re really simple and to the point. Thank you!
I don't know why but this guy has such a soothing voice, it's nice for a change and makes everything a lot easier to process. It feels patient so it helps so much! Congrats you earned yourself a new subscriber :)
I inherited a 4.5 inch Celestron with an equatorial mount. Guess what, no manual or instructions of any kind. I watched your set up for the mount and now this, aligning the eyepiece. Excellent videos. Thank you. Saw the moon last night with my 20mm eyepiece. Magnificent! I really appreciate that you took the time to make these helpful videos.
Thanks for the easy to understand video! My wife bought me a dobsonian telescope for Christmas, and after assembling it I am just now getting around to adjusting it for use. Your video is a great help!
Thank you. This was the next step up I was looking for! Soon I'll go outside and put this video to work. I'd like to know a few more terms like aperture and what's next to know!
This was great! My telescope came with the worst instructions ever and I had NO clue why the red dot and what I saw in the eyepiece never matched up. Your video solved the problem I have been trying to figure out! I was ready to hurl the telescope over my fence in frustration, now I can't wait for tonight!
I know I just commented a few days ago but, using your guidance, I was able to get the telescope set up for all the grandchildren and a bunch of neighbor kids to see Jupiter and Saturn tonight. They ranged in age between six and fifteen and really got into it. Thanks for what you do.
Thank You for this video. I have just got back into astronomy recently and decided to try a completely different scope than I'm used to and am having an adjustment period. Your videos are very instructional and are making my adjustment smoother.
Yay! I thought my finder scope was broken until you mentioned there were knobs.... This really helped! thank you very much! Followed your instructions and was able to align my finder scope!
Good, clear explanation. As I go through this centering process I found that it was the view through my viewfinder that was upside-down and the view through the telescope was right side-up.
Dude you're the man!!! Everytime I used my telescope it was pitch black and I couldn't see, I thought It was broken. I released I left my cap on the lense.
Hey thanks so much for these tips! I borrowed a telescope a few years ago, but couldn’t for the life of me set it up correctly! Since seeing you video, its given me the confidence to try again, and ive just received a telescope for Fathers Day, and ive used your tips exactly during the day, and i feel quite confident using it, focusing on several objects with the finder scope, and they appear in the telescope perfectly!
Dude your narrations are really easy to follow and I greatly appreciate all the information that you provide simplistic and not a whole lot of BS keep up the good work
Thanks so much for this instructional video. Very useful. I actually followed your advice and paused the video and at the end solved my problem even without finishing it. So now, I will watch the rest. Great job. Wonderful pace. Very instructive.
i like how you went into a but more detail than other videos i have watched really enjoyed it. ill be sure to rcomend this video to anyone who ask me how to allign a finderscope
Danke für diese total einfachen, verständlichen Info`s, das Beste was ich bisher gefunden habe !!! Habe einiges gelernt! Thanks for the simple, but completely understandable explanations! It is the best thing I have found in this regard!
Thanks a lot! You made me see my first tree trough my new telescope! I didn't even knew i had to adjust the red dot first. Can't wait to see the moon tonight!
Thank you sir so much for your time breaking it down step-by-step thank you So far the gosh darn best video on how to set up that I have seen I think you’re in the top 10 but again thanks 🇺🇸
G'day Michael, Thankyou for the impressive explanation of alignment of a telescope. I am going to try the skills that you provided in the video. Very grateful to you. I'm in the Southern Hemisphere so there's no fixed star at the Southern Celestial Pole. The best attempt is to use the Southern Cross Michael. Sirius is the brightest of stars in the Southern sky. Alpha and Beta Centauri can also be used as they point either side of the Southern Cross. Anyway, thanks again and much thanks for your clear and patient presentation Cheers from Melbourne Australia
Just unpacked my Celestron AVX 8” Newtonian telescope and was wondering were to start! Your video was instrumental in getting started down the right path!! Thanks!!
Great video, great explainer. And Sir, no need to apologize at least to me at 2m:25s. I've done just that more times than I can shake an azimuth at. Thank you for the clear and experienced instruction. -DG
Very good explanation, especially in the beginning when talking about the cover, I couldn't see anything too clearly Duh the cover was on. Received as a gift an old wooden tripod telescope and had no clue as to what I was doing until I saw this video, Thanks much for a Great Training video.
I loved this video thank you! I low key thought my sims starting playing in the background by itself when the music started playing toward the end!! LOL , then I paused the video and was like, oh....it's the video...haha, quick laugh! thanks again
Great video! Very helpful. I don't understand why they don't have more right-angle view finder scopes. Your setup is awesome. You just have to move a few inches between the finder scope and the telescope eyepiece. What a great setup.
Thanks for your videos, very well done. Im a beginner to this science. Just got a Gskyer and im having issues with the Finderscope not being clear to object very blurry and I thought it was adjustable.
A couple of tips: If your finder scope has a removable eyepiece, when you've aligned it with low power eyepiece in main scope, insert a higher power eyepiece into finder and fine tune your finder aim and then use higher power eyepiece in main scope finally matching them up. Beware of parallax! If you know or can reasonably estimate the size of the object you're using to align finder, then try offset aim on your target appropriately. Example; if a distant chimney has a hood or cover roughly about same size as difference between central axis of your main scope and your finder, then set finder aim at top and main at bottom of the cover (assuming finder is rotated right above scope for the job of course) I hope those two tips make sense! ☺️
hello! could you give me a hand? i have a red dot finder and a skymax 127 eq 3-2. when i look through eye piece is reversed and upside down, and in the red dot finder looks normal, so it is being very difficult to align it good, and i have the diagonal piece. thank you!
That is one BAD ASS DOBSONIAN you have there! Been eyeballing those for awhile now. Very informative video. You probably have your ISO and f/stop settings figured out by now for the outdoor exposure levels on your video beings this is 5 years later...
My Number One tip would be to extend the legs of the Tripod to full length, and it should not be much of an issue to align the finderscope with your 2 lenses in the Celestron 114 LCM atleast.
Thankx bro, luv all your videos they help alot. I just got my first scope (Powerseeker 127eq) , it's difficult to align the finder scope with my lens, so I'm thinking I can atleast just get the object within the finder scope's sight and not directly centered; will that work?
Man, this may be ultra simple - but I lost 2 hours few nights ago being properly p'd off because I couldn't find my target through the telescope. So - thank you !!!

This is the first video I've watched concerning telescopes.
Thank you for posting this - thumbs up and I've 'subbed'

2:14 :' if it has a cover, I know it's obvious...' ( for me it wasn't obvious) so that information really helped me😂
This must be one of the best tutorials on UA-cam. It might be a simple process but you explained it with such sincerity and detail.
Sweet, thanks. About how I thought it would be. Our telescopes are similar so hopefully the setup pretty much the same. It's arriving in two days!!
Excellent video. Very well made and you explained everything very clearly. Well done and clear skies

I watched five other videos, but I couldn't figure it out. You explained it very well and I was able to fix it! Thanks from all of us

Good job. Even for non native English speakers is very easy to follow the instructions.
As a beginner, this is the best finder scope video I have seen, wish I would have saw it two weeks ago:-)
Good, clear explanation. As I go through this centering process I found that it was the view through my viewfinder that was upside-down and the view through the telescope was right side-up.
