1956 Chevy Get's The Old School Gasser Look!

- In this episode we get A LOT done! All the brakes get plumbed, the fuel line is run and we finalize the stance of this fine hot rod. Nose high gasser stance anyone?
Who likes an old school gasser look? I'm not sure if the nose should stay high or if it needs to be dropped down for a low sleek look.

One of the few guys on youtube that i look forward to watching, your videos could be twice as long and i would still watch it all.👍👌👌
how do you only have 53k subscribers? c'mon people, spread the word!!
A pair of old school ladder bars would be sick!
oh yea...totally. next owner, take note!
This is REAL Hot Rodding ...the way it used to be .....Keep up the good work
I used 3/8 round rod for the outer edge and sheet metal for the rest , you can do it .lol
Hey Danny Boy and fellow subscriber's! An easy way to mock up radiator hoses is to take a piece of choke stove heater pipe (The silver paper like tubing that runs from the exhaust manifold to the air cleaner), bend to your desired shape and run down to the auto parts store and match it up. Get in buddy-buddy with the counter guys there (bring them a coffee or a Coke--grease the wheels😉) and they'll probably let you dig thru the inventory! Glad to help rookie!😎
Nose high I think is badass.
Can't wait to see the 56 going down the road . I used to have a neighbor that worked on cars and only difference was was I ended up getting dirty every time I went over there
Like the lowerd back and high front..
Keep it like that!!
Cheers
Yeah!! Love it 56 🇨🇦🇺🇸🖒🖒Great Vid as usual
Wow!... She'll be rolling pretty soon. Thanks for Sharing... Dan
50 years ago i remember a green and yellow 56 chevy 2 dr post with front end jacked way up .. Rocky Stevens was the guys name ..thank you and all the others who post similar content .. i built cars for over 40 years but it never occurred to me to film anything or even take pictures .. iv`e had about a dozen pinto`s and other ford products with all kinds of V8 engines and pro street chassis ..still have the pinto in my profile picture ..it has a 4.3 chevy .. iv`e gotten about too old to start a new project but i would like to swap my automatic trans for a 5 speed .. make the little V6 a bit more fun ...
Glad to see are you young guys restoring all these old cars and hot roding them. I was working at a gas station when I was a kid from 1969 to 1972. At the time these cars weren’t that old.
Good job, on the west coast, back in the day ! we put them up on their toes. Up in front, up in back !
Cherry bombs, we call them red devils back in NZ and yeah one of my favorites also loves the gasser look
Never be late for steak😁
Gasser look for sure!!
I always like the old school and gasser look👍 gonna turn out sweeet!!
Looks awesome. Loving the gasser look. As always keep the wrenches on turnin and the tires on burnin.
Keep the gasser look! Thanks for all the great video's!
Gasser, no question about it.dice on mirror and purple window tint!👍🙏
Great share thanks a friend from B.C Rob ✌😎
Gerry days loves the gasser look. Reminds him of another gasser..lol. great job dan!
Just my opinion... nose up gasser style.. I’ve watched all your videos... great stuff ... my favorite is the 57’s.... same year I was born!
Keep doin what your doin.... great stuff!
I love how sits don't touch it!!! coming along nicely.
gasser nice , hood scoop ...
That stance is killer! The other night you were talking about flat white that might look totally badass! Keep wrenching Dude love the content!!
The stance is perfect!!!!!!.....keep doing what you do, we all appreciate you sharing your work and your love of old cars!!!..🤟
Thanks man!
I have to compliment you, it's not easy for us old guys but you are freaken good with the hot rods...I get it, I'm the same but with trucks.
Totally dig the stance!!!
The only people’s opinion that matters on how it sits is yours and the person who buys it. Good job man, looks killer
Old school Gasser look is always badass for tri-5's
I made 2 flat plate brackets that I bolted to the radiator that allowed me to mount the radiator on the V-8 side , that moved it closer to the fan. It helped with cooling
DAN pay attention to this !!!!!!!!
I love highboys! I started roding in the late 70’s, early 80’s and it was all the rage! Old school would be to put the blocks under the springs and go 2 inches higher! Lol, looks great nose high.
Love the Cherry bombs! Great sound and performance! Keep up the great work Dan!!
Leave the nose up! Go Go Gassers!
I have to work sat, but will watch after Bro!
Hell yeah
Nice job. I like the way it's sitting. Two tone black and white satin with the 210 trim would be killer. I got to tell you the lines from the master to the metering block really need to have a loop or coil in it for stress relief 👨🔧.
PERFECT STANCE!!!! Your killn it
I would also like to say that I subscribe to several channels but probably don’t tune in to any of them as faithfully as yours. Literally always looking forward to seeing a new episode drop. The amount of work you get done in the time that you do it blows my mind. you’re a machine Dan! Keep up the good work bro!
You gave that car new life cool
She looks super good
Gasser look, nose high! 👍🏼
Its a keeper! 😆
Gassers were the E ticket rides of the 50s-70s. When you launched you never knew where it was going, at minimum you had to change your underwear. Hammer down and party on... Keep having fun.
Hi Dan good to see you all again. Whoa only 3000 to go for the give away. Keep working. I had 66 Plymouth that was jacked up in the front. Love it.
I can’t believe your selling this. It’s going to be soooo freaking good!!
Yeah it really is. But I need a new shop haha
Love the 60's sounding music!
Awesome gasser look! love it!
Love the gasser look!!🤘
That’s sharp looking 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The stance is👍 The cherry bombs are 👌 The budget is still on track - good work man! 😎
I say raise the front end 2 or 3 inches with the cheap ball joint spacers, throw on a nice old school hood scoop (like the 55 has) and some old school ladder bars. And you are good to go. Gassers are popular as hell right now. It will definitely increase your resale value. Thanks for entertaining us
I’m liking the way it looks with the nose in the air 😝
There is an NORS right side 56 Chevy headlight cap on eBay right now for $50 in Foxboro, Ont. Plus many others on eBay for $150-200.
It all adds up fast huh
Good job
Love the Quinton Tarantino time lapse music
Heck yeah, the front up transfers the weight to rear , don't know what gear ratio in the rear end, but when those 2 4 barrels come in something going to go down the road good, hope it's a low gear , keep it going Man, nice.
Call me crazy but a cowl induction hood, matt black paint job with red racing stripes front to back, aluminum slotted mag wheels and you got the vision right out of my brain when I see that car. No matter what you seem to always make a car look tough. :)
I am liking the stance. You work fast!
The gasser look is totally boss on one of those Tri-5s! I can't see doing anything else with this but going gasser.
Whatever you do to it will definitely look better than it did sitting out in the weeds just going to waste I give you credit for taking something that's not worth much and making it into something
Looking awesome!! You know I’m diggin the nose high attitude!! Set of yellow slapper bars would set that off just right!! Great vid man, keep it up!!
I like the gasser look like the front end up looks awesome
great vid I don't know how you do it work a regular job then turn wrenches all night then edit one of the hardest worker on utube 👍🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
prob helps having a supportive/participating wife...who is a natural on the camera BTW. shall remain nameless, but I watch another channel where the wife not only is dismissive of the work, she's actually angry.
Yeah she's a total rock star!
@@steves4639 What channel is that?
I got 7 - 2 odds that you'll keep it! Ha hey seriously just keep building it. No matter what remember, ya drug it in you'll drive it out!
I guess I'm a little pickyer than you I would have at least undercoated that frame before I put the line on it so the line would show up as new
At least a few cans of walmart black
Dan dont YA just Love that High Speed flaring tool that thing saves tons of time, Looks Great Man
I wonder how many guys was saying "just put the tall water pump on it"😁 nose high😁 Thanks for sharing Dan👍
How can you not love a nose high, tunnel ram tri5? Very cool!!!!
Agreed haha
It’s coming along nicely Dan
Like the stands on it.....looking good...👍
Coming together. Looking Good.
Nose high... it's the law!
I like cherry bombs but gotta have tailpipes as to help with settle down drone inside cab !! 👍 also I like a little wee bit lower than stock for suspension 👍.. but your doin a really nice neat tidy job on the old girl dan 👍👍
She's gettin' closer to the Finish Line. Thanks for sharing your Garage Time with us.
Love the stance especially with no front bumper
Needs Gray Spokes on all four corners.
The bondo dust should improve the patina on that hat even more.
Looking good. Nose high
Love the gasser stance!
Great job on the car. Enjoy the videos.
"we're doing body work" said with what ever the opposite of enthusiasm is... I love the body work episodes and can wait to those knarly headlight buckets get an upgrade.
coming along nicely
I like the height. Definitely old skool
Flat black, modest 50s old school pin stripping, nose high, red or green headlight covers. 👍
Oh I almost forgot, small aluminium fuel tank up front for racing fuel. ☠☠☠
Great job Dan. You might want to bend a little Whooptidoo in the brake lines between your master cylinder and your distribution block to allow for some vibration since the master cylinder is on the firewall and the block is on the inner fender.
Liking it so far, nice job on the brake lines and exhaust. Let’s see how getting the fuel line and radiator hoses hooked up goes. It’s a DD Speed Shop win for sure.
Love what you are doing and I learn a little bit every video I watch.
Absolutely love your videos! Keep smashing, Your work is awesome!
The dual exhaust tri-fives ran the brake and fuel lines down the outside of the frame to get them away from the exhaust heat. On the single exhaust cars the lines were on the opposite side of the frame of the exhaust. On my 55, I still have the lines inside the frame. I am running headers and turbo muffs behind the 327. On occasion, I will get a bit of vapor lock.
Cool stuff bro! Living the dream!
Nice and neat job on the brake lines.
gorgeous, man. gorgeous.
Car looking really good, but you're right, it has to get the boot, the wagon will need funds from this one!
I personally think it would look really bad ass lowered with a slight rake. Don’t get me wrong I love gassers but I’ve just noticed almost everybody that I know with a tri five chev goes gasser. It’s cool to see them with that lowered pissed off look. 😉
Enjoy watching your videos, good to see young people keeping the hobby going. You are doing good work and you keep the project going. One thing you might want to think about is your fuel line is very close to your exhaust . The factory ran the fuel line inside the right frame on single exhaust cars . On dual exhaust cars the fuel line ran on outside of right frame rail.
Great project. Since you're running a rear mounted electric fuel pump, I strongly recommend double clamping all metal to rubber fuel line connections. You don't say what the fuel pump delivery volume and pressure specs are. It looks stock generic aftermarket. It'll never supply enough fuel to feed the dual carbs you're running. Also add rubber to all fuel line mounting brackets. Vibration will damage the lines in no time. Original pump was mechanical and on the engine, no vibrations or fuel pressure in the main line, you've moved it to the rear where fuel is pressurized over the entire length.
Looks good dude.. Your builds keep getting better and better. I look forward to seeing the 56 wagon !
I like how it sits!!
You are doing a hell of a good job on the 56and...i hope to see it running soon good job on it
