I love this cartoon when I was a kid. One of my absolute favorites. It runs right up there with Robotech, thunder the bar Varian and battle of the planets.
You would think when he starts hearing the chant "Thunder, thunder, etc" it feel cheesy as an adult. Instead it feels powerful. There's something mystical about it.
"Feel the magic, hear the roar, Thundercats are loose". 36 now and I like Thundercats yet. Good times when I used to watch it from monday to friday on TV in the mornings. Cheers from Brazil.

@@kingmufasa9900 Nope. Actually in fact the opening animation was designed by a Japanese studio along with a number of distinctly selected scenes (Watch "Lion-O vs Caveman") which reveals the spectacularly made drawings.
lion-o made me gay...as a kid i dreamed of being rescued by him from mum-ra and then I imagine how big his organ was because his costume was so revealing...hhahhahaha love him.
Perfect example of why Thundercats is still one of the most awesome Cartoon shows of all time.

The show was never canceled, it literally had a finale episode. Unless you're talking about the 2011.
