For the time (and tv budget) some of this animation is really good. You rarely got kids cartoons that cared to make the action intense and suspenseful.
They had really good animation in fact it is actually anime as it was animated in japan. Thats why you see some effects that you didnt see in most american animation.

One of my favorite cartoons of all time and the lessons I learned from that cartoon. I remember it came on in the 80s I was a young adult and I’m watching it now and 2023 and I still love it.

But next season the reflection trick won't work anymore the spirits of evil fixed that. Mumm ra was so awsome you don't see bad guys like that anymore. It's fitting that lion-o faced himself as this was the season 1 finale and that year was about him growing up. So in a sense, he beat his greatest challenge, one who was his equal.

By the time second season came, Mumm-Ra is no longer weakened by his own reflection and becomes a real threat to the ThunderCats for the remainder of the original run of the series.

Lou Zer close... it was always saturday morning cartoons with over easy eggs on jelly toast, the yolk would turn green from the Grape jelly. Funny what your brain remembers from certain times. God damn i want to go back. If heaven is real, its you're own version of heaven, I know just where im going. That block of time between 1985 through 89.
Hockeyguy25 yeah man life was all so simple then. I agree with everything except that egg yolk and jelly, that sounds gross. I'll dip my toast, sausage links and bacon in egg yolk but jelly?? That sounds like some scheme Mum-rah would come up with to poison the Thundercats.

Mumm-Ra is like “Not again!” at 3:15. But ironically enough this would be the final time Mumm-Ra would be defeated by his own reflection. By the time second season came, Mumm-Ra is no longer weakened by his own reflection and becomes a real threat to the ThunderCats for the remainder of the original run of the series.
So the secret revelation of how to beat Mumm-Ra this time was the same way you always beat him. Genius.
