I made over 800 ceramic fortune cookies!

An abandoned project to make 100 fortune cookies for my birthday party turned into me putting up a Shopify website and making over 800 fortune cookies to sell.
I also had about 70 fortune cookie seconds (the imperfect ones with glaze or formation defects) that I sold at a discount. Those sold on the website within a few days before I even had a chance to make a formal announcement that they were even available.
All in all, it was a great lesson learning exercise for me. If I did it again, I would have to figure out how to speed up production even more (perhaps by using a different clay body that isn't so crack prone), or charging more.

You should not have to justify your prices. As an artist - my art is worth what I make it out to be.
Everyone who thinks they are too expensive - make your own. As soon as you experience what a craft it is + how much it is for materials + killn firing. You soon will realise - it's expensive and on top of it, you will need a lot of patience.
I managed to make 20 in 2 hours - but who knows how many will survive the killn 🙈.
