Just got back to playing SFV, and seeing mhike playing Zangief encourages me to play more of him and improve upon him as he is my main (along with Ryu)

No. They were never armoured. Seeing as they have good range, do a lot of damage and also give him good oki having them armoured would be a little over the top.

Why not give him a atomic collider move like tager from blaze blue it would keep people from jumping in on him.you jump he grabs your leg and slams you to the ground

Czesnek green hand is a boring move, SF5 is about readapting old characters with somewhat new techniques and moves, zangief was one of them.
