I Managed to acquire a second hand Moviemaker with the blue tape still on the scanner glass! However, it will not power up. Any idea what it will not? I got this machine very cheap, so I have some extra to spend on fixing it
Hi Ron, I noticed in one of your videos that you have several 8mm movie scanners. Just wondering which one you prefer better. Does the magnasonic one compare to the wolverine models? any issues with the Magnasonic model.
I suspect the best value for the buck is the Magnasonic because it can copy 7 inch reels and it cost the same as the Base model Wolverine at most places {plus the Magnasonic gives 1080P where the base model Wolverine only gives 720P} . The Wolverine Pro I suspect would be the longest lasting and may hold the film a little more steady. I think they all use the same camera and have very similar results as far as picture quality goes. I find the Wolverine Pro a little more difficult to load than the base model and Magnasonic but I think that it holds each frame a little more steady but I can not see the difference.
I depend on my Wolverine Pro for scanning. The take up reel made no funny sounds at all but stopped working. Burnt out motor from pulling too many 7" reels perhaps. Thanks for this post.
So so glad you posted this!! Thank you
You're so welcome!
