That Old Charter 8 is swill. Used to be a great bourbon in the 80’s when it was 8 and 10 year stated. Someone bought the name and just kept the “8”. Only good for taking bugs off your front grill now.
Ceylon cinnamon is considered much better quality that regular cassia cinnamon. If they are marketing their product as organic and paid up for the better stuff it makes sense that they put it on the label
I also wanted to say that I love your videos. Way too many of these hunt videos are hosted by people who act like the know every single bottle and can instantly tell what is good and what isn't. You guys are like the rest of us and ask a lot of questions. That's very helpful because between the people you interview in the stores and the comments here so many of those questions get answered. It's great. Keep it up and I'll keep watching
Mattingly is mostly trash for the price. They got in trouble a long time ago for their sorry distillation process but that probably is passed. They make mostly light whiskey which can be aged as long as ultra old bourbon but the process has so much more wiggle room. It's mostly crap. Some can be ok.
I figured I would look for a comment that reflected my thoughts before posting basically the same. They started off as trash (literally in a rubbermaid trash can - google it, you'll find the pics) and terrible practices. I get it, bourbon isn't glamorous but damn, they took it to a new low.
OK, good to know. The wheat one I have is "OK," but that's just it. Not worth $150 IMO. Glad we didn't try any of the others. That price point is not worth it IMO.
Your misunderstanding of Duck's Unlimited is huge! The guys from Duck Dynasty may be supporters, but they did not start it or control it. In 1937 a small group of sportsmen joined together to form an organization that became known as Ducks Unlimited. Its mission: habitat conservation.
I’ve had a few of those Daviess County Double Barrels as I like supporting brands that support the hunting industry. The juice is decent but not nearly as good IMO as Woodford Reserve DO
Somehow this got in my head. Not sure where or how. I've looked into Ducks Unlimited and they seem to be a pretty great conservation organization that does good work. I also thought Duck Dynasty was pretty funny for a bit.
Is the bottle any good? I have considered going back and buying it. Also, thank you for clowning on Brandon LOL, he has the record for being most wrong in the videos so far :)
Nashville Barrel is good, but $80 for a close out? Love Blue Note Juke Joint Uncut Unfiltered store picks. They are not available in IL, so will be looking for a few on my trip to KY and TN next week. Big fan of John J Bowman Single Barrel and have 3 on the shelf. Would love to find an Ancient Ancient Age, but have never seen it. I have had bad luck with Blanton’s. I have had 3 different bottles of Blanton’s and all 3 had a stinky, moldy taste. Gave them all away. I picked up that Koval Single Barrel that is distilled in Chicago, but have not opened. Saw a great review from Dusty Dan on that OH Ingram River Aged Straight Bourbon. 🥃

Yea, I try really hard to get great quality in our stuff. I'm very frustrated I'm having such a challenging time with audio in our live's, but I'll figure it out. This is actually a huge compliment to me, so thank you!
Nice haul! Got the Redemption High Rye, single barrel though, love it and it’s similar tasting notes to the Bardstown Origins white label to me and it’s only $35 at one of my local stores. Cheers
I'm not a big fan of Sazerac Rye. I think Old Forester Rye, James &Pepper 1776 100 proof would be much better options. I'm looking for that Chattanooga Founders Edition. I saw it once, passed on it for something else. Now, I live to regret that decision. I can't even remember what I got instead. Let me know when you review that Chattanooga Single Barrel and Founders Edition. 🥃🥃
@Whiskey_Wisdom it's not bad. It's must that you can get other better bottles at that price. Redwood Empire Emerald Giant, Sagamore, James & Pepper Rye 100 proof, Rittenhouse Rye 100 proof. I bought Sazerac Rye and ended up using it for mixing. There is a drink named after it.
next time you're in the area let us know. we'd love to introduce you to the owners and families that run these stores you went to. As for bikes... I retired all my bikes currently, maybe again one day soon.... I do miss my R6 and FZ8 the most...
