- Your favorite Samoan Barkeep went on bourbon hunt #7. Found a few new bottles! Visited QFC in Sammamish, Costco and a bourbon museum in Issaquah. QFC has an amazing selection! Museum prices at Issaquah Liquor and Wine, but i found a unicorn that i've been hunting for 10 months!
Had to grab a few bottles for @whiskeywine101. Make sure to subscribe to his channel - awesome content.

Nice haul! I wouldn't have thought QFC would have such a great selection. I'll have to put that next on my list after McCallum & Sons.
McCallum and Sons is great! But QFC Pine Lake is a must go! Great selection and regular raffles now.
The prices at stop 2. WOW
Yeah. That's why they have such a great selection. Haha
That was a pretty cool museum you went to on stop number 2!
Maybe when I win the lottery I'll buy all those. Probably not.
@@samoanbarkeep Haha if I get some more samples, that’s an even better idea! Lol Loved the apple bourbons!
Thanks for the videos. Love seeing what is available in other parts of WA.
Cheers! Thanks for watching!
Great video!
Thanks for checking it out!
Great job SB! Keep up the good work
Thanks! Appreciate it!
Thanks for this video! I am new to bourbon and saw this and went to meet Lee since pine lake isn’t too far. He hooked me up with some solid bottles and suggestions on places closer to my house. Definitely helped me get going!
My email is in my bio. If you ever want to connect, or want some tips, let me know. Lee is the best!
@@samoanbarkeep awesome! Yes I’ll definitely hit you up!
I completely agree about the Wild Turkey 101 Rye that is an excellent bottle! If you have it in a blind you will be surprised how good it does! 15.99 is an absolute steal
I haven't cracked it yet, but looking forward to.
I really like the hunt videos. I've been wanting to go to that QFC. Looks like they have great store picks.
Super cool picks! And the prices are solid! Definitely check it out!
They do! Definitely worth the drive 👏🥃
My fav 4R is anything from Mashbill E... K and O
I still haven't cracked that 4 Rose's OESK. I need to try it. A buddy found the 10 pack sample kit with all 10 recipes. Might pick one up to compare.
I’m jealous you can pick up ECBP anytime for retail. I could get used to that kind of problem.
I just tried it for the first time. It is a great pour! Cheers!
@@samoanbarkeep it’s honestly the only allocated bottle I truly “hunt” for anymore. Found a couple of stores who do an end of the year drop for the unicorns, will attend those and see what I get. Enjoy your videos, always cool to see what things are like in regions other than my own. GA native.
@@aquestionablecall2287 quite a few things I can't find up here like Penelope, any of the Jack Daniel's releases, Blue Run, Knob Creek 12. But I'll definitely enjoy the ECBP!
Glad you had a chance picked up the A123!
@@jeeperzr2 and now I see people posting the B523! Haha. It never ends!
the liquor stores in auburn, issaquah and fairwood are owned by the same family i believe. And sure they get some unicorns the prices are insane on some things.
Yeah there are a few kinda like that. Although that one had the most unicorns locally.
Stores in Grand Mound, Lacey, and Yelm are owned by the same people, too. Great store picks there as well! There is also proper & Ernest up in Woodinville, they own liquor and liquor in Tacoma. They will get some good stuff and they don't mark up too much but any unicorns they're going to hide in the back for their favorite customers
Wow. Id have literally left with every pick they had. Cant find 4r picks near me ever. Ecpb is amazing too.
Had to stay within budget! But definitely gonna stop by again soon! Awesome selection!
Ben Holliday isa solid. Pour , at a great price
Ive definitely been looking at it! Thanks for letting me know. I'll add it to the growing list.
Fortaleza all out in Las Vegas too.
This was the first bottle I've seen in almost a year! Crazy!
Nice haul, I've been to that place in Issaquah, had to stifle a lot of laughs at his pricing. Interesting the tequila was reasonable though.
It just reminds me that I'll never be able to get everything. So just enjoy the hunt and make friends to share with!
@@samoanbarkeep Absolutely! There's a ton of great stuff out there to try and we can't buy it all, but sharing pours is part of what makes Whiskey hunts and groups awesome!
Yeah when you go to those places that does shoes markups on the good stuff I usually end up not buying anything from them just out of principle. There's too many good stores that don't do that that I can spend my money at
Another great hunting video! I'm gonna chime in with all the ECBP fans here - completely jealous that you can find those for retail. Grab 'em up, brother! If you don't want them, I'll gladly pay you for them! Lol
I have 2 bottles. It's delightful. Thanks for checking out the hunt.
Had the Widow Jane Apple wood finished. It okay, I did get some slight apple notes. I haven't shot the review yet though.
I'll watch for it! Thanks for letting me know! I might just grab it. It's not too pricey.
I was wondering when you’d find the Pine Lake QFC. Lee is awesome and the selection and pricing are great. Happy for him to get the props but now I’ll have to fight off all the people you’ve brought in!😂
Its been on my list for awhile, just a little far. Lee is the man!
@@samoanbarkeep Talofa Lava! let me know next time you venture up to Sammamish. Can share some of the great whiskeys I’ve found in Lee’s shop.
I would have went broke in that store, 3 4 Roses picks 2 EC Picks. The 135 proof would have definitely come home with me.
I'm glad it's a bit of a drive. I already want to go back.
I will have to check out my local QFC. Didn’t even cross my mind to check there.
Most of the grocery stores near me are not very good for hunting. I asked the liquor manager at one about how they handled allocated bourbon and she said she didn't know what that meant. Haha
@@samoanbarkeep yeah thats what i have seen here too, just your normal everyday stuff.
QFC near me has some pretty cool stuff and store picks and pricing is better than total wine for most things. I think the willett pot still is $65, cheapest I’ve ever seen it.
@@bendawg69420 where do you live?
@@jeeperzr2 West Seattle but the specific QFC is the one at Westwood Village. Not as much cool stuff as the QFC in the video but usually some things that are harder to find. They just got Tincup 10 year and Noah’s Mill.
great haul man. How many jdbp rye's did they have.
They only had a couple but I heard they got a new batch in this week!
That first store had an incredible selection compared to Southern Wisconsin
Some decent stores around here. If you're willing to pay!
Those prices make me sick… also that 20% tax… greedy government….
Prices are crazy here in WA. Portland, Idaho here we come
The museum @9:00 was cool. How much was admission?
80 but you get a bottle of tequila!
That store at stop #2 in issaquah sucks, those prices are robbery, which is why they have all the good stuff.
Yeah. That's how they choose to run their business. I had to buy that tequila though.
that tequila was a good find!
The music in your hunt vids is from some movie I always watch, but can't put my finger on it.....
Trying to find something neutral. No matter the music, I always get mixed reviews. Haha. Thanks for watching
Jo Mag cigar blend at almost 500…… lmao
Yeah. Hard pass. Haha. I just found my first JMCB, much less than that!
Man those were low prices
Very good prices!
You have the John J Bowman?
No. I skipped it when I saw it and haven't seen it since. My one regret. 😞
I've got 4 bottles
Got anything good to trade?
@@JoeHasGotToGo not sure. Email me. Address in my bio. Cheers
That’s a great price for JC Reserva De La Familia 14:08
Haven't had that yet. Is it good?
@@samoanbarkeep one of my favorite sipping tequilas
@@carlos.penado I'll add it to my list. Cheers!
Also try Corazón Single Barrel or Expresiones. They’re aged in Sazerac Co barrels with Blanton’s and Stagg.
@@carlos.penado I've seen other people post those, but I haven't seen them yet. But definitely would like to
Very interesting to see. My question is this. Is anyone buying those bourbons for those prices? I got bit today on high and wicked, the Judge. 90.00 and I'm furious it is not good. Its side cars and old fashioned, I hope. I can see someone who is trained, but seriously can we really tell a 2000.00 bourbon from a 70 or 90? And then msrp of pappy 20 or 23. Their msrp is better than pappy? Hmm i dont think so
I doubt anyone buys them, that is why they have such a great selection. It seems like they could actually male more money by selling those, unless it's more of an owner wanting to show off the collection. I don't usually worry about the price. I check out the mask bill and tasting notes and pick out whiskeys based on that.
EC 10 year barrel proof ... At 72$ american.. Jesus call me jealous!
Yeah. They had a wide range of proofs too. From 120 to 136. Awesome selection!
As a Canadian, I am very jealous of the wild barrel proof selection you guys have. It's almost none existent in Canada. I live vicariously through alot of you Americans.
First store prices are amazing! Second store prices are stupid
Definitely! Although I was happy to get my tequila unicorn!
I will never buy in WA . Those taxes are an insult
Unfortunately it will cost about the same to drive 6 hours to grab alcohol from Oregon or Canada. So I'm stuck with the hell tax.
LITTER TAX??
are you kidding me?
DEMOCRATS and their TAXES
Liter tax. It's awful.
High taxes on liquor but we don’t have to file state taxes at the end of the year. The drinkers are paying for the non-drinkers lol
Needs more depressing music as what I've seen is millionaire's prices.....plus tax, don't forget the insult too!
Haha. I think those museums are fun. Get to see all the cool stuff. Just don't make purchases much.
