What you explained is 100% correct.
One more thing. Halal wasn't limited to food and drink. It was general term.
Halal businesses, halal clothing, halal medicinea, halal thoughts, actions, words and most of all, halal jobs.

Halal is basically "permissible" by Islamic law and yes, there's a halal way to slaughter it... the opposite of that is Haram, which is "forbidden" to do in everyday basis (i.e. pork, alcohol, drugs like cocaine and other stuff, going to strip club, etc.)
TLDR: I think Uncle Roger knows that for sure and he's from Malaysia, which is Muslim majority country... it's still funny af on this clip 🤣🤣

You completely mixed up "halal" and "kosher" bruv
Halal and Haram mean permitted and unpermitted. Nothing special is done to make something halal.
Kosher with respect to animals means the animal was slaughtered humanely and blessed by a Jewish Priest.
Kosher for non-animal products ranges from "everyday kosher" to "kosher for passover". Passover kosher rules are very strict.
