- Google Meet is a powerful tool that can share your screen. This video shows how you can connect an iPad up to a Mac and use the Quicktime app on the Mac with Google Meet to broadcast your iPad screen reliably. By using a computer to broadcast your Meet you get the ability to record the Meet and other options that don't exist in the Meet iPad app.
This is so helpful! It's also possible while in Google Meet to select JUST the iPad screen to share. Rather than sharing your entire screen you can just share a window. Personally, as a teacher I like this because it means my students see the iPad and I can still pull up the window with them!
On a chrome browser (not safari) when you go to present now in google meet, you have the option of presenting “entire screen” like the video shows OR it has a an option of “selected window”, and you can present the QuickTime app specifically and you’re not sharing your entire screen so students aren’t seeing your entire desktop window. Instead, they see just QuickTime in full screen which would be your iPad screen.
Yeah, it works if you’re only going to use the board, right? I always switch from keynote to board, then I suppose I’ve got share the entire screen.
Very helpful. Thanks.
This is awesome! I have been looking for a solution for months!! Thank you for sharing.
I've tried several videos this morning and none explained things the way you did. This is a great video! Thank you!
thank you you saved me much money
this is just amazing !!! thanks for sharing your video. I was about to pay for every app at app store but I realized that I didn't have to do that !! I just love this video !!
Thank you for this great tip. Have an old 4th gen iPad and now I have a whiteboard I can use with a stylus!
I log into Google meets with my laptop and then I log into Google Meets on my ipad (using same meeting/code). I make sure the volume is down, mute my volume, and turn off my camera. Then to share from my ipad screen I locate the three dots..bottom right, present my screen, and then quickly open up what I want to present, normally something using GOODNOTES . My students can now hear me and see me through my laptop because I am login there too, and now they see my ipad screen.
Yeah, that’s what I do. Keep it easier not harder.
Yeah, that's what I do too. Much easier. I like this workaround too, but my macbook doesn't have a usb port.
You are brilliant! I’ve been doing so much research on apps and stuff but this is simple and genius! I’m trying this tomorrow. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
This is an excellent video for explaining how to display something on your iPad while in Google Meet! Thanks Scott!
Thank you for wonderful sharing. It helps me a lot.
Nice wallpaper.
Very clever! Thank you, works perfectly 👍
thanks for the video ! it helped me a lot
It works perfectly!!! Thank you so much for this video!
Nice trick. Thanks!
I've been looking for a way to share my iPad w my students via Google Meet. It needs to be hardwired, otherwise the iPad signal is sluggish and useless for my needs. This is magic -- thank you! Now, how do I have my iPad audio shared along with the video?
thank you so much this is extremely useful!
Can you watch student faces? While using the whiteboard?
I finally found a way to do it. I knew there was something out there. Thank you so much for sharing. What is the name of the writing app again, please?
Explain Edu
Scott Wagner Thanks!
Dope video man! Thank you for this insight.
Good job.
But I think sidecar is a simpler way to do that
Sidecar works too but it requires newer equipment than I had at the time of this video.
Brilliant! Thanks
What if it says This operation could not be completed
Thank you very much!
awesome
What whitebord app is that?? Thanks btw!
This is looks like great way to share my ipadscreen on Imac. However, the Quicktime player menu on my Imac gives only very few options. it does not look as elaborated as on your video, there are no options to select my ipad. It is version 10.5. Are there different versions of Quicktime?
NICE!
Could you do this with a Mac, an Android tablet and Zoom?
Not sure. I don't have an android.
Brilliant
I would love to use this but when I select the drop down menu to select my ipad, nothing is there except my laptop camera to chose from...can anyone help me with that?
Make sure your mac and iPad are both updated and if you get a message on your iPad about trusting the device make sure you choose trust and enter your passcode.
I'm experiencing the same issue. Both my Mac and my iPad are up to date.
nice hack!
Nice
Does this work with a PC and iPad Pro?
Keita Simmons sorry but I’m not familiar with PCs.
Please take this down...there's nothing useful in it any more. Thanks.
